Leonid deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for keeping this music going during these difficult times between our countries . It’s nice to tune out what’s going on, thanks to his efforts.
Do you grasp what is happening here? Leonid is a genius. He is a fabulous bass player, and a superb recording engineer. He wrote out all the charts for each musician(there are like 30 people performing), assembled this great cast of world class musicians who are crushing this song live in studio. He did all the video editing with flawless cut aways in synch with the music. Pay attention people, he created an entirely new way to enjoy these fabulous songs. You are engulfed by the performance. BRAVO.
And - he (and the whole band) are some of the kindest people I’ve ever been around, not to mention the most talented musicians I’ve ever shared a stage with. They’re humble, hard-working, and wonderful to be around. We’re so lucky to have them.

As a former sax guy in a really good cover band 50 years ago, they are doing what I wanted to do, cover iconic tunes. Back then the songs were current not yet iconic.

Amazing sound mix, killer arrangement, and absolutely impeccable musicianship. There's not a person in that room who isn't a world-class musician. But I want to single out that drummer. That dude is a machine! No matter what song you play, he's in a deep pocket. Igor is absolutely amazing.
Dude has a fantastic range. Literally has that smooth Maurice white voice and then slips right into the EWF high range like he’s right off their record. Entire band is fantastic.
I saw EWF perform this song in 2001 not even a month after 9/11, and this performance evokes the same emotions that I had that night in Albany, New York. It’s one of my absolute favorite songs FULL STOP, and these amazing musicians absolutely stuck the landing.

The more I watch this, and it's been about 15 times now, the more I enjoy the human part. The violinist swaying on first refrain, the timbale player smiling in the beginning, the conga player with sheer delight on his face, Leonid with big smile... singers with huge smiles, even drummer smiling. Man, ...I guess I can't think of any thing else that would bring me such joy than playing this positve, upbet song with a huge group of my fellow musicians, and humans.
INSANELY FANTASTIC! I have not heard a group that made me sit back and say I want to play with these folks in 20 plus years. these folks are simply Outstanding! I have a new favorite!
One of the things that makes L&F so unique is that there are about 30 musicians performing this song!!! Few bands worldwide ever assemble a group this large and diverse except for full orchestras! And I believe these are the best musicians in all of Russia! Bravo, Leonid! And may God give His safety and protection to Serge Tiagniryadno and the people of Ukraine 🇺🇦!
This kind of music can only be replicated properly with a full compliment of talented musicians. None of this midi and computer stuff, a bunch of highly talented people are needed to make this.

When this song was first released the entire album 'I Am' sounded like one big production miracle. The best example of high level studio production - how different elements were mixed together, lot of material, many pro musicians involved. But ... can You find any video where EW&F did the song live like it sounds here played by russian group of musicians ... ? Never ever. EW&F had always too limited staff on stage to replicate the power and detail-rich sound of the original recording. We've heard different versions of this song with epic intro arranged for bigband, marchband, symphony orchestra or just band with synthesized string & brass section ... but never as it sounded originally on 'I Am'. Now it's done ... by group of russian musicians. And it sounds fantastic. Thank You Leonid & Friends - You're pointing out that music connects people all around the world.
Really, that is true BUT that SHOULD NOT be a slight to EWF. Why? Because you could say the same about all of Steely Dan stuff AND I love both. I have seen EWF in concert and still it remains perhaps my favorite live concert ever. It was at William and Mary College late seventies. I absolutely did not like the song "Boogie Wonderland" BUT did reconsider it after seeing them perform it live. BTW, as much as I like recording and live there are times when the live version surpasses the recorded one BUT very few times, IMHO.
I'm just floored. I've never heard this song performed so beautifully and perfectly by anyone other than EWF. And the lead singer!?!?! I haven't heard a voice like that come out of a man who looks like him since Rick Astley (that's a compliment)!!!
I can't believe what I am hearing is damn good and fresh. I hear every instrument and the melodies are so rich and multi-layered. Volcals are clear and true to Maurice and Phillip Bailey's original. "Never you'll be alone. Forever my daring true love is written in the stone."
To the very gifted and often overlooked Igor Dzhaved-Zade: you are a frickin' human metronome my friend, a true Swiss watch of a drummer. You are the glue that holds everything else together. Many, many thanks to a fine musician!

Sad to say, Putin has made the world absolutely hate and distrust Russia again. I honestly don't know if they can ever recover from this - at the minimum Putin has set Russia back another 40 years. I would be surprised if Leonid and Friends don't move to the west permanently before the iron curtain goes up again.

I absolutely LOVE that L&F has been moving beyond the Chicago songbook now into TOP and EWF. This cover, IMHO, is perfection! Daniel's vocal timbre and inflection capture Maurice's, and the vocal harmonies are a joy to listen to! T-I-I-I-I-I-ght horn section (as always), rhythm section is spot-on, the Latin percussion section added extra SPICE, the strings made it sound lush and classy, and everyone clearly was having the time of their lives playing this classic hit together in the studio. These days, we in the West need to see Russians like this.
Watching Leonid and Friends is a joyful, wonderful experience. The joy of them working and playing together just flows out of the screen as they perform. What a wonderful accomplishment they have all brought into being! Hard not to smile and feel happy watching them.

The celebration of music in Humanity has no borders or boundaries… Its the pure love of music combined with the Human Spirit that is one of the greatest gifts God has given us as Humans. When this song was first released the entire album 'I Am' sounded like one big production miracle. The best example of high level studio production - how different elements were mixed together, lot of material, many pro musicians involved. But ... can You find any video where EW&F did the song live like it sounds here played by russian group of musicians ... ? Never ever. EW&F had always too limited staff on stage to replicate the power and detail-rich sound of the original recording. We've heard different versions of this song with epic intro arranged for bigband, marchband, symphony orchestra or just band with synthesized string & brass section ... but never as it sounded originally on 'I Am'. Now it's done ... by group of russian musicians. And it sounds fantastic. Thank You Leonid & Friends - You're pointing out that music connects people all around the world.

Really, that is true BUT that SHOULD NOT be a slight to EWF. Why? Because you could say the same about all of Steely Dan stuff AND I love both. I have seen EWF in concert and still it remains perhaps my favorite live concert ever. It was at William and Mary College late seventies. I absolutely did not like the song "Boogie Wonderland" BUT did reconsider it after seeing them perform it live. BTW, as much as I like recording and live there are times when the live version surpasses the recorded one BUT very few times, IMHO.

I'm just floored. I've never heard this song performed so beautifully and perfectly by anyone other than EWF. And the lead singer!?!?! I haven't heard a voice like that come out of a man who looks like him since Rick Astley (that's a compliment)!!!

I can't believe what I am hearing is damn good and fresh. I hear every instrument and the melodies are so rich and multi-layered. Volcals are clear and true to Maurice and Phillip Bailey's original. "Never you'll be alone. Forever my daring true love is written in the stone."

Sad to say, Putin has made the world absolutely hate and distrust Russia again. I honestly don't know if they can ever recover from this - at the minimum Putin has set Russia back another 40 years. I would be surprised if Leonid and Friends don't move to the west permanently before the iron curtain goes up again.

I absolutely LOVE that L&F has been moving beyond the Chicago songbook now into TOP and EWF. This cover, IMHO, is perfection! Daniel's vocal timbre and inflection capture Maurice's, and the vocal harmonies are a joy to listen to! T-I-I-I-I-I-ght horn section (as always), rhythm section is spot-on, the Latin percussion section added extra SPICE, the strings made it sound lush and classy, and everyone clearly was having the time of their lives playing this classic hit together in the studio. These days, we in the West need to see Russians like this.

As much as i love our USA, Snarky Puppy….. These guys are a close second, or make that first!! It’s unbelievable not just the pure talent but whoever is in charge to mic 30 tracks and mix them perfectly deserves an award in his own right. The celebration of music in Humanity has no borders or boundaries… Its the pure love of music combined with the Human Spirit that is one of the greatest gifts God has given us as Humans. This is a direct result of what can be accomplished…. Long live Music and those who not only enrich themselves by performing and playing but all of us who receive the beauty and power music holds to make our lives better and our spirit whole.🎶❤️🎶❤️!!

ブラスセクション、ストリングセクション、キーボード、パーカッション、ドラム、ベース、ギターが絡み合って、音を盛り上げる、本当に音を楽しむ音楽だと思いました。
今、またフルコピーでアース・ウインド&ファイアーを聴ける喜びは、只々感謝です。

I have seen EW&F more times then I can count it was my favorite band growing up and I always thought they should open the show with this song. Those horns just wake you up and you know something is about to go down. This is by far the best cover I have heard. Well done L&F
