I don't know why the TH-cam algorithm sent me here as I've never been in debt but Im really intrigued by this cash stuffing concept. If you've got a long term savings goal then having cash in the house isnt really maximizing your savings as your losing out on interest payments? Sorry, dont want to sound patronising as you never know how much financial literacy people have, looks like youre making a great start though to paying this debt off, rooting for you!

That's so funny that this has been shown to you. The thing with me is if it's in the bank I will spend it. But it would do much better with interest definitely. But for me I would spend it anyways so wouldn't get interest anyways. Not patronising at all. I completely understand. Once I get to a certain amount I will be putting it into a bank one I don't have easy access too so I can gain some interest. Thankyou I really appreciate it!

@@Sloth_Budgets I'm the opposite, if I had that cash in my hand I'd be spending it haha! I saw you've got bipolar which understandably makes it so hard with the impulsivity. I'm just wondering, for something like your balloon payment on your car if it would be better to lock the money away in a 1 year fixed saver (eg Halifax regular saver at 5.5%) so you wouldn't be able to take the money out unless you actually shut the account down. Set up a standing order for payday so you never even see the money in your account, don't get an app or anything and just forget about it for a year. It's one extra step/ failsafe against spending it so you can still cash stuff for the other savings goals while at the same time locking some away where you can't touch it for that really big important savings goal?
