  • Macbeth Act 1 Scene 5 is a very crucial point in the development of the play. The scene shows Lady Macbeth speaking about the prophecies and how Macbeth lacks the intensity to make his dream come true. This is followed by a very interesting conversation between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth revealing multiple shades of their relationship.
This video is a detailed line-by-line analysis of the scene with critical analysis. A must watch for the students of English Honours.

I am reading Macbeth for pleasure & I'm having lots of fun reading, annotating & trying to understand everything. I read the dialogues, read hard words & afterwards read analysis or watch the play video.
But the instant I read Macbeth's 'wink at hand' & this whole scene, I knew it was way too much information for me simply to even understand.
But your video cleared so many things, the context, the characterisation, the foreshadowing, the dramatic irony, the references, symbolism! Great analysis! So in-depth, I'm head over heels!

Wonderful explanatory vdo ma'am. Especially the way u say the sentences(as if they are being spoken in the drama itself) helps to understand the mindset n emotions of the characters n the context better. It also makes the explanation even more beautiful n interesting. I feel m teleported into some university lecture hall. The way u teach here is much better than simple translating or summary explaining vdos on TH-cam. Thanks for this ma'am. Please try keeping yourself in good health...

I met you at the day of beginning the story of ambition. Your explanation is perfect'st for me. But I myself can't make clear sence or clear picture whenever I read Shakespearen language. Can you give me some suggestions ? And as you told in one of your videos , I am trying to pause at the right places while reading Shakespearean language and I read it much louder as well. 🙂 Your suggestions are needed ma'am .

    A question n a suggestion ma'am
Question : what is the meaning of the perfect'st report mentioned in first sentence of Macbeth's letter?
Suggestion : while u explain the meaning of lines, please also explain the meaning of difficult words therefore mentioned. I know u do it for most of the words but it will be helpful if u could do for all of them

I display complete translation of the text in its simplest form. As I am reading the text line by line, it may not be possible to place all the word notes visually. But I try not to miss explaining difficult words while going through the lines.
