Even though no contemporary account confirms this incident, the fact that it is still widely believed is proof of the unchecked power wielded by the Mughals, as well as by other monarchs of that period. The Taj took some two decades to complete at the cost of a fortune. But obviously, emperors were not held to account, and even if the legend of 40,000 hands chopped off had been true, nobody could have questioned Shah Jehan" - said Irfan Husain, a Pakistani, writing in the Pakistani newspaper, 'Dawn'.

@@kalapipaasi5977 that particular story is usually taken to describe the inestimable beauty of the Taj, rather than just the brutality of the muslims; the latter was etched in stone for most Hindus prior to Gandhi's whitewashing. The story was also probably code speech for the likelihood that muslims stole the Taj (in sharia, the hands of the thief are chopped off).
Pakistanis/converts usually don't realize how ridiculous they look when they identify with invaders who brutally persecuted their ancestors. It is not Hindus who are the losers" - they defended themselves valiantly and maintained their culture.

That's because there's mutual respect. J Sai Deepak can even carry a conversation with people who don't respect him like Owaisi and Tharoor. It's because he's a secure Hindu. He knows what he knows and isn't swayed by who yells at him and tries to divert his attention and tell him he's wrong. That's what we all need to strive for. Get educated on dharma, get educated on what the history of our people has been and how both the Islamic and Christian coloniser has worked to destroy us and only then can you carry a conversation with someone with as much grace and intelligence as seen here. It also takes a proper upbringing to be able to listen to someone who speaks against your faith or at the very least brings out certain truths against Islam and as a Muslim being raised with class and intelligence to patiently listen and then formulate a response. That's another skill lacking in this country as evidenced by any Indian news channel possible that hosts debates.

What an episode of great dialog and right wordings. One may not agree to each other's view point but can leave understanding the other's perspective and broaden one's horizon.
In these times of TRP journalism, this really stands out due to the host and the guest.
Great going and thanks for bringing it up!!

At the time of birth of Sai Deepak, There was a Mania going around South of India - Shirdi Sai and many children were named after Sai. Sai became the name of children in many households. Then came Satya Sai. Even now, many households in South of India name their children with Sai in it. This mania happened with Sharukh's - Rahul name in a smaller scale. Every new generation in Hinduism comes and washes away the old rigidity and morphs the customs and practices more in sync with current generations needs. This happened in Christianity but it doesn't happen in Islam and that is the problem.

Sorry to say this Amina, I found you as a host moving casually around the house and the phone shaking all the time while the guest was speaking was very unprofessiona and distracting while such a gem of a conversation was taking place. I hope you take this feedback of mine positively. I love your podcast, please keep up the good work.

Even the other host went on hold for sometime which is why the profile picture popped up. Well, they still remain muslims and carry Arabic names after atleast partially knowing what their origin is. This much civility itself is unexpected.

@@anitha6249 you are just casting aspersions and judging them wrong and assuming you are an admirer of sai deepak I am sure he wont agree with you. Both of them are wonderful people, you should realise what it takes for people who are born as Muslims to actually do what these two are doing!
