    Happy Thursday, Everyone! 😃
And welcome to this week's wonderful episode of APTV!
Brian and Lindsay talk about Friday the 13th, White Cane Day, and Brian shows off a whole new bunch of vintage and consignment pens - many of them pink!
The Retro51 Frankenstien pen was mentioned. Unfortunately, it has already sold out. If you wanted one, I hope you got one. The Esterbrook Estie Raven was also talked about - and it's gorgeous! The official release day is today! And there was a reminder that the Diamine Inkvent Calendar will be here quite soon - this month! They usually sell out quickly so if you'd like one, be sure to sign up for an in-stock notification.
The weather here in Appleton is so VERY fall-like! Many trees have already given up all but a few of their leaves. Other trees continue showing off their lovely colors. Temperatures are quite chilly at times, but I do prefer cold weather so no complaints here!
I hope that October is treating you very nicely, that your week is going well, and that you have some fun/relaxing/adventurous plans for the weekend. As always, THANk YOU for watching and liking and commenting. You are THE BEST! #thankyouthankyou

An ink I like but don't use much: J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor. I do like it a lot, but I can't explain why I don't use it more. I don't think I've inked up a pen with it in 2 years. I do have questions about your Inkvent announcement. The green version was last year, and I thought this year's was going to be purple? And chameleon inks were new last year, they are shimmer particles that change color depending on the angle of light.

That's Dave ..a stalwart at Anderson Pens, and incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient when one shops in-store (or calls for assistance).

Another fine performance and show. When you have a lot of ink (142 bottles or so) there are many I don’t use but one comes to mind. Ferris Wheel Press Roaring Patina Black. It was a special edition ink and it is unobtainable at this point so I still have about 10 ml left. Have a great week!

Happy Friday the thirteenth. I will go with red ink for the Christmas season. Always nice to see Lindsay

That vintage black & pearl is spectacular! A very art nouveau look to that one.

My favorite underused ink is Iroshizuku Hotaru-bi. It fills my Penlux Delgado in Moss (My first purchase from Anderson) . It is just a bit too light in color for nighttime writing. The English translation is "Light of Fireflies", so that makes for a strong affinity to the ink and color. We leave our hay go a bit late in the summer, waiting until after the fireflies are done with their show, before harvesting. Fireflies are in serious decline worldwide, and we are doing what we can. (PSA: stop using herbicides/pesticides, stop spraying your lawns, leave areas tall and wild as possible, get rid of excessive outdoor lights, especially the big yard lights that are dusk to dawn)
    Nice to see Lindsay again!

Hi to the whole Anderson crew, I love Bungubox 4B but rarely use it. I do consider it a special occasion ink if only for the cost of the bottle. However, it is in a new pen that I recently acquired: my first Pilot VP. Love the pen, the ink, and the two together!

My favorite underused ink is Private Reserve Butter Nut. I use it for making to do list that I only see, or special things to stand out on my planner.

I enjoyed the Dave sighting! Dave has helped me select some lovely pens and inks and been very patient as I tried the many things in-store. So many inks in my collection go underutilized. The one I'll choose today is Rohrer and Klingner Smaragdrun, a gorgeous, well behaved and reasonably priced emerald green. Maybe I'll ink it up for the holiday season.

As a proud Florida State University grad I must have garnet and gold inks. I use all my burgundy and maroon inks that are close to FSU garnet. When I have an FSU related comment in my journal, I break out the seldom used Diamine Golden Sands. Otherwise, it stays all the way in the back of my ink drawer. Great to see the father/daughter duo.

I'm with Lindsay--I love yellow inks (Ferris Wheel Press "Buttered Popcorn" being my favorite) but I don't want to tax the eyesight of my penpals by using it for correspondence, so I rarely get to use it for more than accents and doodles to embellish notes.

The ink that I don’t use very often is Colorverse Cat. It is a my favorite color (blue) with shimmer but the bottle is not very big. I want it to last for a while. And, I don’t regularly use shimmer inks. So, it is used only for special occasions. Great episode today! I enjoyed Lindsay!!

Nice to see you as always. I’m a big fan of Troublemaker Copper Patina, but due to its shimmer and lighter color, I use it less often than other inks.

Lovely bunch of pens you started the show with (and a fabulous dad joke, I'm here for all all the jokes as well as the pens), I had to go look at the Retro Tornado fountain pen but it had already sold. I'm with Lindsay on the yellow inks. I love them but they're mostly too light. I have the Kyo-no-oto Yamabukiiro and love it but I don't ink it up much, just swatch it or dip test it and sigh over it (so pretty!) and then pull out a purple that old eyes can see.

One ink that I love, but rarely use is my Pelikan Edelstein Smoky Quartz (brown). I adore the ink, but it’s discontinued, so I don’t want to run out!

Hi Brian and Lindsay! Brian, Edgar Winter’s “Frankenstein” would’ve been a great soundtrack choice! I don’t really have an ink that I use only special occasions, but I do have a few that I use sparingly because they are no longer available. One is Parker Penman blue, and the other is a dark teal blue that I mixed myself. Enjoy the fall colors!

An ink that I don't use much but really like is Diamine Syrah. Great color, but somehow I forget about it (mostly) when I ink a pen. Now that I'm reminded, I'll probably ink a pen with it shortly.

The ink that I like that I don't use much is Nemosine Imperial Blue. The reason I don't use to much is because I only have one bottle of it. I bought it when the maker of Nemosine pens and inks was going out of business. So I bought like 4 of their inks that they had left and also 100 each of their black cartridge inks and blue cartridge inks. The owner of that business is now in business with his brother making pens and inks. That would be Birmingham Pen Company from Pennsylvania.

Good morning, Brian and Lindsay! Happy Farmer's Day! (October 12)
Q: What did the neurotic pig say to the farmer?
A: “You take me for grunted.”
Cool looking selection of consignment pens! But, just bought 5: a yellow Esterbrook CH (first version) with a broad Relief 2xxx nib, a Platinum from before they stopped using the globe logo that I don't know what model (it's a "sold in the US" branded "President") with a 14K probably fine nib and an aerometric filler, a Platinum pocket pen with a 14K fine nib, an Esterbrook LK in Emerald Green with the ubiquitous 2668, and a Sheaffer's Touchdown probably Cadet with the F1 fine steel nib in burgundy.
Ink I seldom use? It's between 3. All shimmer. And all Diamine. Purple Pazzazz, Red Lustre or Golden Ivy. They're my Easter and Christmas cards inks.

I can't find many of those consignment pens on the site- they must have gone fast!
Why would you rarely use an ink you love? I love and regularly use purples of all shades. I am also loving and using Diamine Autumn Oak and Pick me Up this season.
I think you may have meant to highlight the upcoming Ink-vent Purple calendar. (Pick Me up is from the green edition; full bottles are already available.)

I couldn’t help but wonder if the winner of last week’s contest was THE Ann-Margret. Too conspicuous?
As for less used inks, I really like the vert olive color from Herbin, but it’s just too light for regular use. Also can you confirm the color of the inkvent edition? I was under the impression that this year is purple, as we have had green red and blue once each already, right?

I currently only have one bottle of ink, so I don't have an underused bottle of ink! Although I have a cartridge someplace that is the remainder of supply bought many years ago (although it was a cheap blue ink, nothing special).

Pink pens? Eric may want first choice! Most underused ink? All of the ones with sparkles. They are so hard to clean up so I really stopped using them. Now I need a good dip pen.

We need a "stand with Israel" limited edition fountain pen, rollerball or even ball point...heck I would support a pencil... to fundraise in support of the peoples attacked who have long been the people of Canaan before Palestine was even a word. As a Christian I would consider buying a pen in support of aid to defending the state of Israel and the Jewish Nation of YHWH.
