Just a comment on your anecdote that a person doesn’t get addicted after receiving drugs for a surgery pain bc of the connection from people who visit her when she comes home. Studies show that morphine and other painkilling drugs administered for physical pain ss during post surgery , does not become addictive. As soon as the patient feels physically better he won’t want more drugs. The addiction is created when ppl take drugs to numb emotional pain. So your example was a little off!
