this is so helpful :). Im talking out loud to myself as if im in the interview when the question is on screen before you talk through it and its really helping me notice what aspects im missing of the questions
Hey Darren, I've seen some videos which advised summarising and restating the scenario at the start of answering a question. Would you recommend this or is it unnecessary?
I think it’s okay to do when it helps with your answer. Like a ‘what would you do’ question it’d be good to summarise the main conflict. But don’t do it randomly cos it would just waste time and be unnecessary
Hey! Nice to hear you’ve been doing the work. Nothing special honestly, just keep practising scenarios and find out what works for you in reading time. Maybe reflect on questions you found difficult? Maybe to do with rural health or something
is monash worth it as a canadian student if i want to return back to canada for residency? My dad will be paying 84k tuition each year as an international student
Hey Malhi! I’m not too sure on how well med in Aus translates to Canada. For some other countries it’s hard to transition between them. Is there any reason you want to go to Monash particularly? You can meet some Australians and go overseas but if there’s a good school in Canada it’s probably a lot more cost efficient
@@DarrenTan21 monash offers a 5 year undergraduate medicine course that will allow me to graduate from med school at the age of 23, so that makes this route quite desirable compared to the typical canadian route. Canadian med schools are also alot more selective as they have an average acceptance rate around 8%
Some other considerations: if you want to practise in Canada you may need to complete extra years of training or sit an exam (I’m not sure if this is the case but do check). Also, assess how difficult it would be for you to enter into Monash - sure Canada is 8% but you’re a native there whereas you’d be applying as an international student here
Hey Darren, I've got my Monash interview in a couple of days. Is there any advice that you can give me about what and how I should be practicing before the interview?
Hey Nikki! Good luck for the interview! Just keep practising and time it and treat it exactly like the actual MMI. Things students often miss is having good body language and making eye contact with the camera.
Hey Bro, I really recommend finding out what the ucat is (like structure of the test), then purchasing a medentry/medify pack where they have lots of practice questions and exams.

Thanks! Nice practising
Great video, looking forward to more mmi vids 🤓
Thanks, will do Anoushka!

Hey Darren, great video! I've got my Monash Interview in early Januayr. I've done a decent amount of prep. What should I be doing now?

Results?
How many video’s on MMI will you make Darren?
Hello! Not too sure. Happy to do more if you have particular requests?
Darren Tan the man!
Cheers Spicy Lemonz
Would a video on how to combat procrastination be possible, because I could really use one 😅.
Yes will do! A very common problem.

Thanks Vatsal!!
Darren please help - how do I start UCAT prep? How did you start? What course did you use?

I personally went to a Medentry workshop in Jan and bought the medentry package and later medify too.
