You mean the trash who cared more about how many inches of front page she got rather than the actual family of 3 that got killed? All them reporters were shit humans.
I disagree. I think the drug dealers who murdered people were worse than Scott. Call me old fashioned. Now lets hear it, they were products of their environment, they were at least honest about killing, blah blah blah

The Wire excels at (amongst many other things) showing how an organization/system is corrupt even though most of its members are trying to act morally but fails because a few bad actors inside it are covered for by bosses who are under pressure to show statistical progress that is detached from real progress. It applies to police, drug dealers, schools, newspapers, addiction service.
So while newspapers are dying because of the internet, real journalism is dying, too. Whatever Alma can have from her source is going to be duller, slower and more expensive to produce than the quote asshole wrote in about 3 seconds. Do people appreciate fiction more than real life? Apparently so.

God damn Scott fucking Templeton. This scene is especially infuriating because it has Alma in the background doing GOOD reporting work.

at least marlo tells you hes about to kill you lol

G. Fairland ya i picked up on this early on and had to rewatch the entire season from the beginning once I knew. It really changes the entire dynamic.
Then you have Nightcrawler.

Alma is most likely talking to McNulty to set up their meeting later on about the homeless "murders" which eventually become Scott's big story
I'm surprised (and somewhat annoyed) Gus didnt call Nerese to verify this and then burn Scott

Scott Templeton wrote more fiction then Stephen King.

great acting from both actors

the guy has been making any phone calls, has making his rounds, but he gets terrific anonymous sourced quotes, huh??
