Beneath A Scarlet Sky is AMAZING you will not want to put it down I picked it up last year it put me in the feels in some parts. I loved it one of my 5 stars books of last year.
If you enjoy Beneath A Scarlet Sky you should read The Librarian of Burned Books by Brianna Labuskes. It is an awesome read about Berlin in 1933. I recommend it for sure
None of this is true was sad but it was SUCH a good book. One of my favorites!! I try not to go off my feelings because it was very well written and definitely had a twist i didn't see coming. Just get ready for the jaw to drop
Ian! I have to say, if you don't make it through Deadhouse Gates, it's ok. Not every book is for every person, and if it's not for you, it's worth stopping and moving on. With that said, I do think that you can get through all of the CHONKY BOOKS on your TBR!! Have an amazing day!!
Beneath A Scarlett Sky is HARROWING but I would definitely recommend it. I listened to the audiobook and had to pause mid baking to process the ending. The fact it's based on a true story as well is incredible but makes it even harder to take in

I knew it was Deadhouse Gates as sopn as you said ten books. I've only read four of them and I stuggled through that one as well. I found the end of it to be worth it for me so I hope you get through it this time.
You got this Ian! Wishing you both a very blessed New Year! I love both your shirts. Back in the day I was on the ski team for my high school about 45 miles south from Mammoth Mountain. We would leave at 6 am on Fridays (weather depending & keeping grade point average up), drive up to Mammoth & ski all day until closing time.
You guys are so cute together! I’ve heard several people mention Malazen Book of the Fallen. It’s a new series to me. I might need to give it a try. Years ago, I was plowing through King’s early works. I ran out of gas on Needful Things and didn’t read any King for years. I’m interested to know what you think of it.
I dnfed Deadhouse Gates and the series on the first try. I decided to try it again and finished it but it was a 2 star read and ended up tapping out for good after book 4. I should have staid done after dnfing the first time.
Loved this video. I'm going to be starting on Throne of Glass and working through all the series. I have Beneath a Scarlett Sky but haven't read it yet. I also was gifted one Dark Window & Two Twisted Crowns. You got this!
way late to the game BUT pls tell Ashlyn that Belladonna was not it for me either but i rated the 2nd 4.5 stars! i loved it so much more & truly didn’t think i would continue the series!
I'm here to encourage you Ian!! Deadhouse Gates is my absolute favorite book in the Malazan 10. You do have to get through a jump but it made me laugh it made me cry it was just such a beautiful tragic story by it's ending please don't give up on it. Try to fall in love with how Steven Erickson writes his books lol it isn't easy but it's amazing!
Thank you so much!! I really enjoy Erickson’s prose. I think I get stopped up on his world building…it’s so complicated. But I have a little less than 300 pages left of Deadhouse, so almost done!!
Just finished the Night Angel trilogy and now reading Nightangel Nemisis. PLEASE READ NIGHT ANGEL.......its just so dang good. Book to my fav followed by 3 then 1 but the are all good
Wow! Lots of large books this month. I read an incredible historical fiction last year (can't believe I'm already saying last year). It was called The Warsaw Sisters by Amanda Barratt.
Ian, I told Ashlyn on Patreon last night, but I cannot WAIT for you to make it through TOG! I finished Kingdom of Ash yesterday and I think reading that book is now a core memory. SJM earns her spot up there with fantasy greats, especially after that particular series. Can’t wait to hear how Malazan and the rest of this TBR goes as well!
Can't wait to see your thoughts on Beneath A Scarlett Sky. It was the first fiction book I had read in so many years and I loved it. Got me back into reading!
i found your channel out of nowhere, and 4min in I'm already obsessed with both of you!! you guys seems so nice and funny, subscribing of course bc I'm very excited for the TOG video!
Deadhouse gates is one of my favorite books in the malazan series I hope you will like needful things it's definitely one of kings underrated books i also liked the movie adaptation
Happy New Year!! Malazan is so hard…I have a little over 300 pages left of Deadhouse Gate, the farthest I have ever made it into this freaking book! You’ve got this! Gardens was…better than Deadhouse in my opinion.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 favorite duo of all time 🎉so excited to hear your thoughts of the Throne of Glass series I still haven’t read them yet. Also Ashlynn picked some great reads.
Starting strong this year - YOU GOT THIS!! We know you can beat this book this time (3rd time's the charm, as they say). And wow, I wasn't expecting you to read the ToG series. I'm excited for the video about it! As you said - I figured you'd like it more than ACOTAR :D anyways, happy reading and Happy New year to the both of you!!
This video was so much fun!! You got this Ian! I have faith that with the audio book you can push through your dnf! I love the books Ashlynn choose for you! I’m working my way through the throne of glass series also so I am so excited for that upcoming video! I have Belladonna on my shelf also to read that I was scared to read after Ashlynn giving it such a bad review so I’m so curious what your thoughts will be on it!! Happy New Year to you both!!

And I hope you like Belladonna. It’s also one of my favorites. I hope you can beat the DNF! I believe in you!
Thank you!! Throne of Glass is stunning. I am enjoying it more than I did ACOTAR. I also started One Dark Window a yesterday, and I already like it. The world is very fun to read about!
Belladonna was an okay read. I gave it 4 stars because it is a trilogy and young adult plus planning to continue just to see what happens next. I love these videos of someone else choosing your tbr. I have my daughter usually pick one book for me to read each month so we can discuss the book when I am done. Happy New Year!!
Awesome video ‼️🧡 watching your videos 😅 as for the new year I have continued reading Harry Potter and so far I am on Prisoner of Azkaban and so far it’s my favourite because I am 😂😂😂 🤣🤣🤣 so much and I have started reading the Assassin’s Blade in the throne of glass series and I am 💛🩶 it so far and since I got throne of glass as a gift I can’t wait to get to that one. So far it is not as spicy 🌶️ as the ACOTAR series and so I am loving this series so much. 😅
@@iangubeli I know throne of glass is my absolute favourite SJM series and I have only read Assassins Blade ‼️💯 thanks to you and Ashlynn I am thinking of being a content creator
Ian I’m slowly leaving romance to read more fantasy and thriller thanks to you 🎉this year can you do an intro to fantasy. I did buy red rising it’s my first sci-fi. I did also sample malice and I liked it. I love character development more than I thought.

Ian, you can do it! You can finally conquer deadhouse gates! I believe in you 😂 I think a new book shopping vlog is due, absolutely love those. Also I was wondering how many pages you read a day because it seems like you get so many books in each month. Loved this video ❤
Thank you!! I would say on average I probably read 150-200 pages (on a good day). That’s because I utilize audiobooks at work. And I agree, it is time for another book shopping vlog!
Great video and always love the concept! I can see you being the reason for me becoming a big Stephen King fan going forward tbh 😂 also finally read dark matter thanks to you and it was stellar thank you sir, similar to another I read called the end of mr y, curious if anyone here has read that.

Awesome video as always Ian ‼️ Happy New Year 🥳‼️ if you and Ashlynn like nonfiction books on theology then you can’t go wrong with other books by C.S. Lewis I learned about this from another TH-camr Haley Pham. Also I have The Throne of Glass series on tbr, I am finishing the Harry Potter series and Winter from the Lunar Chronicles but as soon as those are done it’s TOG time‼️ I am hoping to read more nonfiction books on 2024. Thank you so much!!
I love how excited she’s is to pick out the books
Ian, you've got this!! That second book got nothing on you!!!
Thank you🙈
I wish I could do a TBR jar but I'm such a mood reader 😩
I use a tbr jar to fill my book cart then I pick whatever I feel like from the cart. Doing something like that might work for you 😊
I feel that! These TBR jar ideas are really fun, but it’s tough to stick to it because I also love reading what I am in the mood for.
I am a mood reader but also super indecisive so I'm thinking about making a TBR jar for the books I'm in the middle of
I’m making one for fun and going to pull from it when I’m not sure what to read next. I like following my intuition on what to read next too.
Beneath A Scarlet Sky is AMAZING you will not want to put it down I picked it up last year it put me in the feels in some parts. I loved it one of my 5 stars books of last year.
