In Norway the first astra was in 1990. Named kadett until then. I think i will look for a well looked after astra h. Things are easier by those cars than today, and cheaper to maintain.
The Astra H is a workhorse! UK police used them for years. My aunt also has one which is 13 years old and is still going strong. In 13 years its had 1 broken coil spring, rocker cover gasket and a new 02 sensor, not bad at all 😁 These newer 3 cylinder engines are not gonna last as long if you like to put your foot down and have some fun.
I do also have reservations about the 3 pot culture. You can hear them regardless what you have they are not balanced. Been hiring lots of cars recently. Corsa kuga c4 juke and grandland all with 3 pots. You can just tell its a 3 pot. The kuga was by far the quietest but I could still tell. Rented a cx5 2.0 skyactiv and while it was no faster it was smooth as silk in comparison. I guess things are all about economy but all these reviewers who rate them as characterful and thrummy must be on the payroll they are not enjoyable. Stick with a 4cyl vw tsi. Thats their bread and butter. Been doing that for generations.
A comprehensive review. Annoying advertising banner across the bottom though, is it really necessary to have this onscreen for the whole hour long video?
Good grief, what a crock of ****. I want analogue instruments. I want a proper gear selector. I want a proper hand brake. I want two doors. I don't want stop-start. Looks like I'll have to stick with my current car or buy an old classic. Thank goodness I'm nearly dead.

First Astra not built in UK?
My 2014 Astra GTC J was built in Poland.
Is it possible to add a full-size or space-saver spare wheel as a factory option?
