In case anyone wants to know the real way to do the intro, it's not a tremolo. It's a guitar kill switch. He's actually tapping his guitar on and off when he plays.
Very cool...hooky haunting driving yet simplistically effective. Such a great song back in the day. Congrats on filling the slot with such an Iconic band.
Man you almost went full ham on it !! I could see it in your collective soul !,through your soul windows ! Hehehe For realz though ,thank you!for showing how to play a kick butt song! I totally waz picking ,no pun intended ,up what you were laying down.
I think the chord before the solo is an E7#9. At least that's what I'm hearing. On strings 5-2 fret 7,6,7,8. Commonly known as the Hendrix chord because he popularized it.
What guitar and amp are you using in this video? I currently am still a beginner/ learning and only have acoustic.. 90's/grunge has my heart so I need to mix it up soon.
4/9/22. At around 4:50, you said you didn’t know what that chord was- A10 D12 G12 B12 E12. That is a G6 chord. Formula: 1356= GBDE= G6.You could also call it an Emin7 chord. Formula: 1b3 5 b7=EGBD. E is the relative minor 6th note of G. I’m just going off of standard tuning. If you tune down a half step, then G6 becomes G-flat major 6... I think you really know what this chord is. This is some kind of devious plot hatched in your sinister mind to expose the “nerds” in your comment section, and I couldn’t help but expose myself here. If this was your intention, exposing nerds, then I hope they ban you for 10 years from appearing at the Oscars as well. Anyway, congratulations on 80k subscribers! Take care, Ryan.
Learning guitar can feel HEAVY... let me help you do some of the lifting! www.ryanlendt.com/lessons
This song is a fun one to play . And It deserves some "heavy distortion"
yeehaw!

:) one of the most fun riffs ever, all things taken into account
So glad you didn't cut the main riff into a campfire.
Once you learn it, it is one of the best warmups (and just awesome to rock at the guitar store!)
i second all these notions :)
Thank you. Been wanting to learn that one for a while. 👍🏼

Hey is there a looped intro for that song with the tremelo. I’d like to use it
I think the chord before the solo is an E7#9. At least that's what I'm hearing.
On strings 5-2 fret 7,6,7,8. Commonly known as the Hendrix chord because he popularized it.
I wanted that to be the answer, and considered it carefully, but alas I do not believe it to be so.
What effects / amp are you playing with this song ?
Que afinación está?
What guitar and amp are you using in this video? I currently am still a beginner/ learning and only have acoustic.. 90's/grunge has my heart so I need to mix it up soon.
nice and simple
ja
I'm having difficulty identifying the effects the lead guitar uses during the chorus. Is it just trem or is there some tape echo in there too?
Another great lesson..Thank you Ryan :)
BTW I really could use a camp fire ;)
come on over, come on over baby
You make it look so simple. I am cursed/ hamstrung with little memory which makes it so much harder.
Is that ham on rye or pumpernickel?
Did Shelly lose his mask to Jason?
i haven't had pumpernickel in some time. i have a bread maker. hmm....
I got a recommendation. Could you do a lesson on Eddie Vedder’s ukulele cover of smile. I can send a link if you want.
yes please - make a new comment - replies get lost!
nice. Do why. pt 2
Hi Ryan, how you doing? Didn't know you liked Collective Soul. Remember when I asked you if you could do Blame, lol. It would be a hit. Peace 🕊️.
