No it wasn't dangerous at all. It had reached the end of it's service life and was too expensive to maintain. It was demolished. There is a steel wild mouse on the South pier at Blackpool if that's what you mean.
@@Faulty720 End of its service life? At a park playing host to coasters as old as the big dipper this seems like an odd reason to get rid of something.
@@bswift1991 He's right, the Wild Mouse kept having to get bits replaced and wasn't worth the cost of maintenance so they got rid of it. I guess the Big Dipper is just more reliable
Went on this in the early years, and was traumatised! Years later I was taking my ten year old daughter and her friend around the park. I said "Yeah, sure" to this innocuous looking little ride and only after they'd set off did I realise it was the Mouse. They loved it. Couldn't believe that I'd let them go on it.
+rollercoastermaniac2 It has been rumour for 3 years to be shut down. Apparently the H.S.E are are not happy with the Jolts people about in there car. Even though it has been running that way for well over 50 years and never once had a big Accident!! I’m actually thinking of starting a campaign to change the way Health and safety operates.
Danielle Dewitt I think he might be getting confused with some of the other rides as a few of the others are now listed which means they can't remove them or make major changes to them, The mouse isn't listed however due to the small space it takes up it's unlikely Pleasure Beach are going to want to remove it ,earlier this season they installed a new automatic brake on the final Break run making the right safer while still keeping what makes it fun they have also added another seat belt for when two people riding at once.
Doug Briglmen Doesn’t stop it beating riders up. In fact I read today that the HSE aren’t happy with this mouse due to how harshly it jolts riders around. Now I’m not one for calling a ride dangerous never have never will but I can see their point. Just look what it did to my ankle very bad bruising. It is harsh compared to the other woodies there. There is no need for it to jerk the way it does. Makes the other woodies look gentle.
Doug Briglmen Why should the hse be happy with how it jolts you about? Even grand national and big dipper are gentler than this human aggressive mouse.
I freaking love this ride. I piss myself laughing all the way through even though I'm pretty sure this ride is too dangerous to be still going LOL You end up hurting all over when you get off!
It's a proper ride and no mistake. The most violent theme park ride still existing in the world - but that's a good thing! (in a world of law suits and watered-down experiences). Battered and bruised, you come off smiling - a proper experience.
I nearly knocked my front teeth out when I smashed my face on the safety bar. My Dad let me on ( I was 8 ) my Mum had nipped to the loo. I can remember her screaming hang on as the ride started. She was furious with him for ages Lol. This does not do the turns justice they really are vicious. X x
I had something similar, i was with my dad on it and i almost wacked my head ( the back of my head) to his nose but luckly i hit my head onto his chin and nothing happened☺ However im not going on it ever again....
Can't believe people shit themselves about going on Infusion and the Big One, this is ten times worse than either of those. Taller and twistier does not make for the best rollercoaster, you know you have been on a coaster when you come off the Wild Mouse.
Allan Mailer this rollercoaster is so good but when I went last year in July me and my best mate was on this together and our seat belt broke on the first drop she nearly shit her self 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Rest in Peace. The greatest ride of all time. POV does not sell how hilarious this ride was. You'd laugh in pain and pleasure in equal amounts. Should have rebuilt it.
If ever there was a legitimate claim for whiplash.. I've never laughed so much in my life for being in pain. A true bone shaker. The grand national, also at Blackpool is another coaster classic which makes you laugh all the way through. Great times
The turns are so crazy, sudden jolts that fling you from side to side and the weak seatbelt doesn't do anything, you fly out the seat at every dip. That's what makes it the best lol, its so intense. It's meant for two people, but I sat on it by myself which allowed me to get flung around more, making it even better!!
I'm sure this is the same ride I went on at Blackpool in the mid 1980s. The safety belt failed and I nearly got flung out. If I had I could have easily been killed.
Been on roller coasters all over the world & this was one of the very best. Trip to BPB isn't the same without it. Really rough with two in a mouse much better on your own - superb airtime. After you had ridden it a few times you were able to position yourself in the mouse to take the s bends without getting battered well at least I did anyway lol. Used to come off it in fits of laughter every time. Rode it every year 1983 till the end. Magic.
you can call me over dramatic but i felt like i was gonna die when i was on this ride! the sharp turns are painful and i thought the cart was gonna fall off the track!
My first time on this was last year and it's an experience I'll never forget... on the first drop I frickin fell INSIDE the cart thing and got stuck! To make it even better my shoes were coming off as they were loose and my bag was trying to escape and this happened in every drop! 😂😂😂. This ride is amazing, I'm sad to see it going :(

Dear EastCoasterGeneral, thanks for this upload. I loved riding this special little roller-coaster, those incredibly sharp 90 and 180 turns made possible by the small cart and narrow track made it so unique and fun to ride despite the rides relatively short height and track length in comparison to more modern steel coasters. There never was a more aptly named coaster, I miss it.
So gutted they removed it. Sure, all rides have an expiry date but to not even announce or hold an event to let people say goodbye? Sad. :(

How a cartridge hasn't snapped of the track is a mystery to me lol.
@TheSpizer It is; and You're held in by a loose seat-belt. you also have to physically duck for the piece of track going over the chain lift. But it brings back to danger aspect other rides are missing
There never was a more aptly named coaster, I miss it.
to be fair this ride just flings you about and its uncomfortable in every way like lord can it be a little more brutal
I’ve been on rides all over the world but nothing comes remotely close to the Wild Mouse. I can’t describe how gutted I am that it’s gone☹️
The only time I went on a coaster was this one back in 1987. It was pretty scary, but I don't regret having a go.
I got full on whip lash on here
*but I loved it*
This was terrifying. Can’t believe they got rid of it. Gutted
They did the right thing.
Anybody old enough to remember riding before they even had seatbelts? I blame this for losing at least 10cm of height due to my crushed spine
Yes, I remember.😉 I always loved it.😂
Best ride ever!!!
For me this is the best coaster in the Pleasure Beach, yes it's a rough ride but it's one you will never forget.
I love rollercoasters but I hate this because holy fuck it hurts, I rode it with my sister and she came off crying
phandommmm also those bands 👌👌👌
It really was one of the best coasters in Pleasure Beach!
Best ride there went on it three times today. I call it mouse trap don't know about anyone else...
Yeah I call it mouse trap too low 😄
Still haven’t forgiven Blackpool Pleasure Beach for killing the Moos
Well hse were not happy with it.
Rode this in 81 with my brother, better than most of the modern rides of today.
