Most metal sounds violent and dark to the untrained ear, but you've gotten the message they were trying to convey. It's not just about the anger inside, it's about the bigger picture. Metal is incredibly cathartic. The songs covering painful or taboo topics have saved lives, by letting the audience know they're not alone.
I always see it as like the darker side of artistic expression like a horror movie there's 2 sides to the coin and honestly I think it's a more genuine internal expression.
So many people don't understand why this kind of music just makes me smile and feel happy. A couple of days ago i showed "Bonebreaker" by Slaughter To Prevail to one of my very best friends and she was just scared and could not stand the aggression while i smiled the whole time. This music is healing for me!
When I was stationed in Charleston, my guys always knew what kind of mood I was in by what was blaring out of my truck when I pulled up to the gate. If it was country, I wasn't happy. If it was metal, they knew I was in a great mood. Funny how that works
Corey (the lead singer) actually has a recorded therapy session. He's had a rough go of it and the music makes a lot sense hearing his story. He was basically dumped at one point during a party because he overdosed and the other people thought he was dead, the drop into the dumpster woke him up and allowed him to get help. I don't always agree with the bands choices but I respect the hell out of them
He has a great book called “the seven deadly sins” and it has very similar topics and it really touches on his past and I feel like you can really see where he comes from in his art
I’ve fallen in love with this channel so fast this is by far the best content I’ve ever seen in a long time. Thank you so much for shedding light on metal music and coming from musician and a writer. I appreciate you reading into the lyrics and showing people that metal is not scary music it’s actually empowering a lot of metal is.
This is the thing with metal (Slipknot, Disturbed etc.) all have very deep messages in their lyrics. Too many people never make it past the music or the appearance.

Out of any reaction channel on TH-cam, there's never been one that actually gives back such deep analysis. I love you're reactions to damn near every song, reminds me of the hype when I was first getting into the genre. Love this channel thank you, probably some of my most enjoyed content I watch as of late.
I watched for about sixty seconds before deciding to subscribe. Your understanding of the message is so acute, and the way you really get into the music is awesome!
I watched 45 seconds and stopped because she's over-acting like Jim Carey in the 90s....trying to decide if I let the video play ...I've already commented, so there's some free interaction
@@scarce911 You would be hard pressed to find someone who does not look a bit foolish when they are feeling the music. What is the source of your negativity? It is nothing that she did.
The true meaning is about military veterans having problems after coming back and how they were to taught to act in war vs civi life(psycho social to everyone around that doesn’t understand back in civilian life) but I think this interpretation is another great way to view it
Would love to see you take a look at early Linkin Park. His struggles eventually got the better of him, but hearing Chester sing something like Crawling or Points of Authority is mind bending when knowing the abuse and trauma he suffered and the toll it eventually took.
@heartsupport please do this, Linkin park and slipknot saved life, slipknot on a more hands on way, as I've been lucky enough to have known the guys in slipknot from back before they left Iowa. I haven't been able to reconnect with them in years, but I know that as long as they and I live, we have the improbable possibility to get together and catch up. But digressions aside I know that I need to find out your thoughts on Linkin Park and Chester, because I think it would benefit myself and others who use the music as a lifeline.
Metal music is actually very delightful and beneficial to listen to...both the instrumental portion and the lyrics. There are numerous metal bands that have very powerful lyrics and it can be a major stress reliever with whatever issue/s you're coping with. I've always listened to metal music since I was a teenager and IMO it is the most therapeutic way to clear your thoughts. It has tremendously helped me daily get through the hard times of a divorce.
Actually, at it's foundation this is a anti-war song.. about solders that have to deal with the mental after effects from the Iraqi and Afghanistan war.. to my brothers injured from the rain.. your still in our thoughts and prayers..
I was in Iraq during my second deployment when this album came out, and I tell you first hand that a lot of the infantrymen that I was attached to as a medic loved this song. It was exactly how we felt about our chain of command constantly fucking up and we ended up paying the price for it.
The last part of the song with fake anti fascist lie... alludes heavily on the Iraqi War. I think in its core it's an anti war song sung from the perspective of someone who's served, and has had enough of being used as a pawn in a war brought on by false pretenses. And really, if you're KIA in combat, are you really a matyr or will your name be washed away in time...
"self loathing and hopelessness" this is how altruism manifests it's self through a fear of independence and self loathing. Better to be selfish and engaged in self interest. Your own well being...mind and body. It will benefit the social welfare.
one of my fav slipknot songs but hearing you read what it means to me inside made me cry. feels good knowing others feel what i do daily. sometimes we have no ally but ourselves.
From Micro: Thank you for sharing how this video and the analysis resonated with you. It's powerful how sometimes pieces of content like this can be the catharsis of emotions we've been holding within. It's like holding a mirror to our soul, and it feels good to give ourselves permission to let things out when it's needed. I hope that the tears brought relief to your heart. It sounds like you've been carrying a good amount of pain and overwhelm on your shoulders, and that it would be welcome to just have a space and times to *feel* and be just as you are, just as you need. You're right, sometimes we have no ally but ourselves, which can feel like a curse and so very isolating. I know for me personally that a lot of hard seasons I've been through were also marked by a deep sense of loneliness. I wasn't necessarily alone on the paper, but the leap to take in order to reach out and say "I'm not okay" was terrifying. Not to mention all the fears of being misunderstood, and having to make someone see things the way you do, so they could hear you out properly, without judging. It's just hard to reach out sometimes, which is one reason more to be proud of yourself for sharing a bit of your voice here and how you've been feeling lately. Rest assured that you are definitely not alone, no matter what struggle you've been facing. It's hard to learn to have a kind outlook on ourselves, even more challenging to maintain it over time. Many of us are on that path towards self-acceptance and self-love, but it surely takes a lot of time, patience, grace and unexpected detours to get there. It may feel like we're all on our individual roads, but through it all there are emotions and experiences that we collectively share. There's something reassuring in this thought and in knowing that we wouldn't be judged for feeling the way we do, no matter what. I hope with all my heart that your wife and you will know seasons of joy, peace and relief very soon. If you would like to share more about what's been going on in your life, what resonates the most with you in this song, feel absolutely free to talk about it here. You're not alone, friend. I see you, and I'll be rooting for you. Hold fast. -Micro
@@HeartSupport years of mental and physical issues that i had no one to help me through because (it felt like) no one cared and it was my job to be there for others not to need others help. i've been in and out of psych units and hospitals and seen many "doctors" for help but the meds don't work and alot of times i forget to take them if they did help any. i currently am on 6 meds and still everyday feels like a struggle just to roll out of bed. we have 2 babies under 2 and i'm a stay at home dad for them and have to put my pains aside to be here for them while mommy works. i love my kids and do not fear losing control and hurting them i fear my brain not working right and not seeing they need me in emergencys. i have had seizures while holding them and dropped my 18 month old when she was about 6 months because of it. i am so scared of accidently hurting them but have to control it so i don't. my wife struggles with mental health also and is on meds as well. we both have trouble even opening up to each other. its so hard and nothing seems to help. talking helps get things off the mind but can it actually help with the issues when meds aren't working? how do we ask for help without CPS wanting to take the babies away? life has become a bundle of fears and the stress is killing me.

As a metal head and Slipknot fan, and a guy currently going to therapy to try to learn, grow, fix myself and be a better man to the people in my life and my family, your channel is the content I didn't know I needed. I have some really deep seated and venomous stuff in me that I'm trying to get past, and it started to rear it's ugly head a bit at work today from the stresses of the job. The timing is unreal. I've been a Slipknot fan since damn near the beginning, and have long championed the cathartic elements of heavy music, but the way you interpret and unpack the music is pure gold, and gives them so much more meaning for me. Never stop doing that you're doing.
@heartsupport I have so much grieving...my marriage, a year ago my wife moved out... then my career/finances, laid off before Christmas...then a week ago my special needs son...almost 2...died of a seizure... thank you for being here.
From AliceBlue: @aaronkubat1243 My heart breaks to hear your hurt, especially about your son’s health. Grief is a hard and natural process when it comes to relationships or marriages meeting and end road. Grieve as you need and make sure you have the support of loved ones around you.
From AliceBlue: @aaronkubat1243 I can deeply sympathise and empathise. Losing a child is a hurt that nobody can warn you about. Nobody can prepare you for it. Every time I meet another parent mourning their precious soul, I like to think there are angels loving our little ones and they are all able to join together and play and that they watch out for us. Nothing will ever replace the love you feel in your heart for your little one x Sending you so much love today

From taylor: @aaronkubat1243 My friend, My heart aches for you. I imagine the grief feels overwhelming. This message is covered in loss, from your marriage, to your job and most painfully your sweet son. It's like you're laying down and every instance of grief is like a brick being added to your chest, it feels crushing, suffocating, and impossible to get out from underneath. There are few things I know about grief and one of them is that reaching out for support is one of the best things you can do. You did that here, and I hope you will keep doing it as you're on your healing journey. You deserve to have support, whether it's a conversation or it's a friend sitting with you while you watch a movie. Inviting people into your pain will help you start to take the bricks off one by one. I imagine that losing your son, especially after so much other loss, feels unbelievably crushing. There are some losses a parent should never have to experience, and my heart aches for all of the pain and complicated emotions you must be experiencing as you process this loss. My hope is that you know you don't have to do this alone, and that you continue to reach out like you did here. Sending love
This video gave me so many emotions! This is the first reaction video I've seen of yours, and it won't be the last...... First, I was drawn to you, I could feel you starting to get into it. I could see you feeling every cord, every hit, every lyric, which is unique in its authenticity. I loved that I could feel your real emotions through this video because most reaction videos are faked for likes & subscribes. Second, I heard your words. Slipknot, since the first time I ever heard/seen them was in concert. I was hooked. They spoke to my soul that was in desperate need of "something," but although I heard the lyrics, understood and used them with my interpretation. I have never once had them broken down with such positivity & understanding. As someone who has struggled with mental health for more than 25 years & has seen countless professionals, I have NEVER felt the impact this video just gave me. Thank you, @heartsupport to the very bottom of my being. If only I could find a professional like you in Washington State, I'd be on a much healthier healing journey
You need to see this band live...an experience to never forget. I so love your analysis of Corey's lyrics & contextualizing...seriously mind blowing. Thank You!
this woman is so on point. Slipknot songs have always spoke to me but this deeper analysis is so helpful. I have scanned their lyrics over and over but I missed lots of this message... and hate THAT voice. Thank you for being as charged as the band in explaining it! You and my therapist would hit it off. She is similar to you.. This inate ability to see things so fast.... it's not a 'doctor' thing. I've seen tons of therapists that cannot freestyle like you. I dig it!
I love your energy and clear interpretation of slipknot. I'm hooked on your channel. I'm so glad you exist. Your honestly surprised reactions the songs actually gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes because someone else gets it like I do. You are a phenomenonal person. Don't let ANYONE tell you different. If they do send them my way 💯 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP MAKING THESE VIDS I AND IM SURE OTHERS BENEFIT IMMENSELY..
I played in metal and hardcore bands in the late 90's into the 2000's and can confirm that the unleashing of these feelings in music helped us as well as the audience. Nearly every show ended up with smiles and hugs after blowing off a bit of steam. They'd have a few drinks and talk about their lives and problems but at the end of the show I'd see happy, tired folks heading home to enjoy their weekend and tackle the week ahead like it was all worth it. You can't buy that kind of feeling; it made me try harder and harder. Things seem less crazy and scary when you know you're not alone and there's someone out there who feels just like you.
I LOVE how into these songs you get even tho you don't know them! 1 thing about hard rock and metal, is if you go into it with an open mind, it can be scary how much your relate and love it! Welcome to the Family.
Well, I can tell you as a drummer of 34 years that, yes, this song is an absolute blast to play and hits every primal reason we become drummers in the first place! It truly is a drummer's perfect song.
Omg..I watch this reaction by you with this song I'm so connected to for some reason and you are explaining to me more and more every time I watch your reaction..you are the exact psychoriast I need..I will continue watching this reaction and learn more about what's going on with me..great job.. doing good for people in need of people like you to understand
I've listened to this type of music for 20+ years and never realized some of the lyrical messages that you have been pointing out in your videos. I'm incredibly impressed that you can extract such deep meaning from a single listen. I believe that you've inspired me to try to listen deeper to the music I love and I appreciate your passion!
I remember reading an article explaining how music, especially metal, is incredibly therapeutic when it comes to mental health. It’s like the release valve when the pressure builds up. Watching the likes of classically trained musicians react to the likes of Slipknot you get a sense that the musical complexity as well as lyrical themes is way more complex than the stereotype. I know when I need to get stuff done and barring air guitar or air drum fills, it gets done in style!
As a therapist you might get a kick from Bloodywood with their song DanaDan, just make sure to have the CC on. They are Indian and use traditional instruments, very metal but the strongest message ever!
I fully appreciate your educated insight and interpretations. Your ability to convey slipknot makes me love you. With that being said, I truly believe the masses would have a lot more to gain of you took more time and broke down each verse, piece by piece and shared your wisdom you would help create an even bigger army of maggots that the world has never seen. I watch your videos and drink in every word you share. Hit pause more often to each line of lyrics because your missing some of the juiciest pieces of meat that you could ever wish to mash your teeth into. I've been a dedicated fan since the beginning and for me slipknot is my religion, my therapy and my salvation
What I absolutely love about you is you get totally immersed in the the music and act crazy AF yet drop pure knowledge and deep insight. Yeah I just subscribed, liked and hit the bell. You are str8 up legit
You randomly appeared in my feed. Now I am subed. All I can say is THANK YOU! My life is controlled demolition. You have helped me look at the things that I willfully ignore because they hurt.
Leaving a digital hug here for anyone needing it. 🤗🤗 Great reaction and I like the way the energy of the music was embraced even after it ended! Sound.
45 and finally trying to fix myself instead of putting it off like I always have. I've lost my family, my home, my career, and my wife. It's a dark place, but I'm trying.
From Micro: So proud of you, friend. In the midst of feeling like there would be nothing left to fight for, you are now choosing yourself - and gosh how beautiful that is! It takes a lot of strength and humility to accept our most vulnerable sides and to face our struggles. The temptation is high to run away from the pain and push aside everything that would shake our world. But to heal and meet ourselves at a deeper level we sometimes need to take the path that seems the hardest at first. You are showing up for yourself, on your way to trade surviving with *living*, of letting your vulnerability become a testimony of your strength. I wish you so much peace, healing and restoration moving forward. To uncover a lot of strength, beauty and resilience in this courageous heart of yours. You got this.
This song is like a journey. I've been suffering with severe mental illness for decades. The line "I did my time and I want out" for me reflects living life every hour of every day with torment, fear, pain and wanting to be done with it by almost any means necessary. The song progresses and towards the end of the song when the lyrics "the preservation of the martyr in me" is sung for the last time, it's sung in a way that seems to be finally at peace - finally rid of the torment and pain - one last peaceful exhale.......
Thank you for this content, I feel a lot of people would benefit from it and Metal is always a way I find comfort and peace because its pure raw emotion, I’m new here and looking forward to all your interpretations of one of my all time favorite bands…cheers.
Just found your channel. Great discussion about the song. I have always listened to metal as it is always uplifting, healing and cathartic. plus it is awesome to rock out to some loud guitars and drums.
As a 50 year old who still battles his demons everyday Metal is and has been my theraphy since i was around 12 or so. In my darkest moments music will always bring me back from the edge and allow me to fight another day.
You're an amazing person, with so much incite. I enjoy watching your videos, slipknot is one of my favorite bands and I love how you word what you observe in the lyrics. And it makes so much since to see someone else show how they see it though themselves and it brings it to a whole new level of understanding it differently than I did before. Thank you
I've been a metal head most my life. This is the first reaction I have seen you do. You are very in tune with this song. Great breakdown. Not trying to start a debate but there is prejudice that exists about people that listen to "metal music". You have shown that this song is just another way to articulate a personal story that is not outside the social norm. I'm not trying to be personal, but you do not appear to be a person that listens to "metal music." By me saying that, I believe that we all, including myself, prejudge people before we understand the message or the person. We all don't take it to extremes, however. Bravo! I feel you gave a grate reaction to this, and I hope many more in the future. Your target audience is spot on in my opinion. You know what I'm saying without saying it. Great work!
This is one of the greatest song from Slipknot, it has all the elements of soft and hard parts which bringing your emotion up and down throughout the entire song
Slipknot are the Classics! now. This channel is so blessed, i shall up-vote some "Bloodywood-AAJ" the most uplifting song so far in the reaction scene IMO
I'm sure many metalheads in the comments can attest to this, but listening to metal music is a great way of releasing stress. Kind of like a pressure cooker with the pressure release valve. It's really no wonder why metalheads are the nicest people in music because they get to let it all out.
I literally just watched a reaction video and got the best therapy session I’ve ever had. And extremely entertained by your energy toward the video. 👍🏼
Damn! I am a 53 year old disabled guy, who has been a die-hard Maggot for about a decade and a half. I battle major depressive disorder and anxiety BADLY. Were it not for my faith, my disabled daughter, and my wife, I am afraid to think about where I would be. Your analysis of this incredible so g made me look at it completely differently. As a former drummer, I used to get the most out of it by drumming with Joey (R.I.P.), Clown, and Chris. Your actual analysis of the song brought tears to my eyes, as it hit WAAAAY close to home. I am blessed to have happened upon your channel. Thank you for what you do for those of us with mental health issues.
From ThriceTheThird: I'm a 36 year old disabled guy who also battles those conditions. Thank you for reaching out and sharing what you are feeling and going through, and the kind words about how helpful HS content has been fore you so far. I have found something that helps me greatly is sharing the things I am going through, and not holding them in inside. So if you ever feel the need to share more, or have anything you would like to get out. We at HS are here! <3 Hope you can feel some relief to the things you are experiencing.
From Micro: @Footy_Fan Thank you for sharing all of this. It certainly helps to know that, somehow, we are not alone in the struggles we're facing. Our journeys are unique, but they also make us walk through seasons and emotions that can be relatable. Personally, depression and anxiety have been a major component of my life for as long as I can remember, so my heart truly goes out to you as you face those challenges too. It is such a powerful and destructive combination to have to navigate both at the same time. With depression on one side it feels like apathy and numbness takes over too often, while on the other side it feels like to ease the anxiety, rest and calm *is* needed. It seems to be about taking action but also not, doing but also not too much, feeling energized and out of fuel at the same time, out of life and craving it all at once... it feels like having to compose with multiple paradoxes all the time, that there isn't any perfect fix or solution. Over time, it also feels absolutely exhausting and draining to deal with the same hardships it brings into our life, day in day out. I imagine that there has been times when you must have felt like really hitting rock bottom and couldn't see any way out. Of just waking up to the same sensations and dread without any positive perspective in sight. You may have even considered hurting yourself and ending it all out of a deep need for peace. These times are so very lonely to walk through... and it is just beautiful/strong/amazing that now you talk about it as you made through those dark moments. Yes, it's scary to even think about how life *could* have been without the people, places, memories, goals that act as anchors to us personally. Some people can really be like lifebelts thanks to the love, presence and life they add into our own life. Words are not enough to describe the strength and power of the bond that can unite people. I'm so thankful that your family has been such a powerful anchor for you! It speaks beautifully about the love you have for one another, and that is truly special. If it wasn't for my partner, I wouldn't be here anymore. There's something about knowing firsthand that love *is* present that changes everything... and gives a big punch onto the lies that depression and anxiety can make us believe at times. May you keep holding on to what grounds you, may you keep exploring life and things that bring JOY to your heart. Hold Fast, frend. -Micro
I love that you understood the meaning right off the bat. people are scared of this type of music because of the aggressiveness, but in reality metal has more real meaning in the songs than any other type of music
So this is the 1st vid of yours ive ever seen, i cant begin to express how impressed i am. this is what has been missing from the internet in general. wow
Love your appreciation of the Gen X music, that was our therapy. The darkness made us realize we had made it through so much and the worst day we had was the worst day we had. There would be others, but those were just another day.
Corey can scream and grind, but he also can sing. His voice is amazing. And I love when he shows both. His spreading the wings to form StoneSour and CMFT shows he is so much more than Slipknot. Slipknot was his fighting back, Stonesour is the reflection and empowering and CMFT is his own deep understanding of himself and his growth
I have always listened to heavy metal to get me through rough times, alcoholic stepfather growing up and then PTSD from 2 tours in Iraq. It touches the anger/anxiety/depression I get and brings me back down to earth. I call it my Happy Music.
From ThriceTheThird: Glad you have your happy music! Hoping for the best with your mental health journey. Thanks for sharing your experience with us, and feel free to share more if you ever want/need. <3
From beauty4ashes.loved: You said, "I have always listened to heavy metal to get me through rough times"... I like to figure out ways to relate to music lyrics. It helps me feel like others can relate to me. I'm glad you posted on HeartSupport. Thanks for being with us.
people not used to this kind of music turns it down the minute they hear the intro, but if understood.. just like your analyzing, they'll dig this masterpiece
My niece asked me if I'd take her to see Slipknot, May 2022 Toronto, her first metal concert. Been to lots of metal concerts, but was my first Slipknot show. It was awesome!! We had a great time!
You gained a fan in me with this reaction. One, not only were you intensly in to the music (it is an intense song!). But two, you immediately got the message! Unless you did several takes, LOL. But I would guess that is not the case. I do have a war in my head. Old me (from 25+ years ago) vs. new me (since discovering the love of my life 16+ years ago). We can thank current society and a couple isolated icidents for causing old me to stirr recently. But, I have been working hard to "beat him back to slumber". This song helps me cope daily!
Imagine , she's walking into her work , her office and while walking thru waiting room or so she is rocking out to this song while all very disturbed patience just watching her terrified :)
Yes people that can’t understand metal can’t understand real life
I always see it as like the darker side of artistic expression like a horror movie there's 2 sides to the coin and honestly I think it's a more genuine internal expression.
Honestly the song is slipknot 🖕 to the music industry to be fair but Corey being who he is can talk to is in a way no one else can
Have your 200th like, that comment is on point.
Well said!
Some people talk with their hands. This lady talks with her arms
So many people don't understand why this kind of music just makes me smile and feel happy. A couple of days ago i showed "Bonebreaker" by Slaughter To Prevail to one of my very best friends and she was just scared and could not stand the aggression while i smiled the whole time.
This music is healing for me!

Corey (the lead singer) actually has a recorded therapy session. He's had a rough go of it and the music makes a lot sense hearing his story. His grandmother found him wasn’t it??
Seeing Corey today it's obvious that he's been able to process a shit ton of his past and internal demons trough therapy and his lyrics!
He has a great book called “the seven deadly sins” and it has very similar topics and it really touches on his past and I feel like you can really see where he comes from in his art
Someone who understands metal perfectly and the reason why it exists. Very nice! 🙏👌
Love the way you rock out! Another group you will like with extremely powerful messages, Korn!!
Hearing a Daddy reaction from the perspective of a therapist would be incredibly interesting. Especially with this no BS approach.

You would be hard pressed to find someone who does not look a bit foolish when they are feeling the music. What is the source of your negativity? It is nothing that she did.
acute and also cute
I LOVE SEEING YOU ROCK OUT! Puts an instant smile on my face.
People don’t always understand the calming of metal music.
🤘🤘🤘
The true meaning is about military veterans having problems after coming back and how they were to taught to act in war vs civi life(psycho social to everyone around that doesn’t understand back in civilian life) but I think this interpretation is another great way to view it
As a veteran who has been listening to this song since it dropped during my second deployment, I've always resonated with the message of this song.
For the last 20 some years Slipknot has been my therapy 🤘🏼🖤🖤🤘🏼
Metal music is actually very delightful and beneficial to listen to...both the instrumental portion and the lyrics. There are numerous metal bands that have very powerful lyrics and it can be a major stress reliever with whatever issue/s you're coping with. I've always listened to metal music since I was a teenager and IMO it is the most therapeutic way to clear your thoughts. It has tremendously helped me daily get through the hard times of a divorce.
Above all, metal is cathartic.
Actually, at it's foundation this is a anti-war song.. about solders that have to deal with the mental after effects from the Iraqi and Afghanistan war.. to my brothers injured from the rain.. your still in our thoughts and prayers..
The rain will kill us all is if there was a nuclear war cos if you were left the rain most probably be the thing to kill you.
I was in Iraq during my second deployment when this album came out, and I tell you first hand that a lot of the infantrymen that I was attached to as a medic loved this song. It was exactly how we felt about our chain of command constantly fucking up and we ended up paying the price for it.
They ruined these countries
“I’ve done my time - and I want out … go drill your deserts - go dig your graves, and think of all the money you will save”
This was delightful, great music and a little bit of a therapy session with it. I enjoyed this and you enjoying it as well. Thank you.
" The preservation of the martyr in me" It sums the whole song up in 1 line
Psychosocial is such an incredible song!!!!
This is by far the best reaction video I have ever seen ❤
This song helps me when I'm battling my inner demons of self loathing and hopelessness. Great analysis here
"self loathing and hopelessness" this is how altruism manifests it's self through a fear of independence and self loathing. Better to be selfish and engaged in self interest. Your own well being...mind and body. It will benefit the social welfare.
one of my fav slipknot songs but hearing you read what it means to me inside made me cry. feels good knowing others feel what i do daily. sometimes we have no ally but ourselves.
From ThriceTheThird: Having yourself as a strong ally is great, but if you ever need to talk about anything. HeartSupport has your back.
@@HeartSupport thank you for all of us whom you are here for. me and my wife both could use it.
Hold fast.

@HeartSupport the funeral will be tommorow. Today sucks
Nothing will ever replace the love you feel in your heart for your little one x
Sending you so much love today

From taylor: @aaronkubat1243 My friend,
My heart aches for you.
I thought I loved music, but you really "LOVE" music!! Love the reaction!!
i feel so seen THANK YOU
Talking about loving music.. pls try „ Ren - Love music, Part 4 (Official Lyric Video)“
I dig it!
I LOVE your reactions! I would love to see you at a live concert! I am so happy you are appreciating and understanding this type of music.
If they do send them my way 💯
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP MAKING THESE VIDS I AND IM SURE OTHERS BENEFIT IMMENSELY..
I’m starting to really really love this channel. The analysis’s you make are so beautiful. You are also so adorable. 🙂
This is the best reaction video I haver seen. Congratulations ❤
This was a really amazing video, you understanding of mental health issues really shows the worth of this style of music that so many people miss
I really love how you extract the meaning of these songs. Never even thought about the deep meaning of this song.
I'm so loving your videos!
I've always said Slipknot is my therapy. Corey is sooo deep. Such a genius! ❤
Automatic subscribe. Thank you for breaking down what they are saying and what A LOT of people go through everyday.
Lyric wise Corey Taylor is a friggin genius. He can convey thoughts into strong useable musical lyrics on par with some of the best
Honestly they are all I listen to since they came out and they calm down my autistic son all the time 🤘
Thank you. I really needed to hear your analysis today. You just vocalized exactly what I've been dealing with. ❤
It would be so much fun to go to slipknot concert with you... Your energy and joy listening to the music is infectious.
It means so much to see a sane person ramp up to this
I remember reading an article explaining how music, especially metal, is incredibly therapeutic when it comes to mental health.
Going to see them in concert again Friday🤘🤘🤘You've got great moves...
This was one of the most delightful reactions I have ever watched 😂
This girl is awesome !
I absolutely love you!! You’re love for the music, but you’re love for helping others!! Thank you for doing this.
You randomly appeared in my feed. Now I am subed. All I can say is THANK YOU! My life is controlled demolition. You have helped me look at the things that I willfully ignore because they hurt.
You got me pumped for this song all over again!! lol 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Leaving a digital hug here for anyone needing it. 🤗🤗
Great reaction and I like the way the energy of the music was embraced even after it ended! Sound.
I love this reaction, you were so pumped up at first, then landed the stink face 😂 epic! Thank you
Thank you for giving a perspective for the song that helps.
45 and finally trying to fix myself instead of putting it off like I always have. I've lost my family, my home, my career, and my wife. It's a dark place, but I'm trying.
From tarainutah: It takes strength to come from a dark place and to keep fighting, and I admire that. Keep fighting. <3
Goodness!!! Bless you sweetheart!!! I'm so glad you understand this song like I do!!! It's a battle every day..great reaction
I couldn’t be more proud of you. You understood the meaning of the lyrics immediately. Good on you. 🤘
Great work!
I just need to thank you, you might have just saved my life.
This is one of the greatest song from Slipknot, it has all the elements of soft and hard parts which bringing your emotion up and down throughout the entire song
I enjoyed you dancing to this so much...that improved my mental health today. ;)
Many of the songs by Slipknot are about the internal struggles that we all face, they just have good use of metaphors and poeticism.
It's really no wonder why metalheads are the nicest people in music because they get to let it all out.
the energy in this video is so uplifting
Your analaysis brought me to a breakthrough! I love this! Thank you!!!!
-Micro
This song looked like such a healthy thing to have happen to you. I love how much you feel the music and let it show. Thanks!
I love that you understood the meaning right off the bat. people are scared of this type of music because of the aggressiveness, but in reality metal has more real meaning in the songs than any other type of music
The way your body feels the music is actually adorable
thank you- now i realize I've been going at it the wrong way. both you and slipknot really helped me a lot tonight.
Yea, that's the look and feeling I got when I 1st heard Cory Taylor actually sing some sweet notes. Dude has a great voice!!
This is the best breakdown I've ever seen on this style of music
I have always listened to heavy metal to get me through rough times, alcoholic stepfather growing up and then PTSD from 2 tours in Iraq. It touches the anger/anxiety/depression I get and brings me back down to earth. I call it my Happy Music.
From ThriceTheThird: Glad you have your happy music! Hoping for the best with your mental health journey. Thanks for sharing your experience with us, and feel free to share more if you ever want/need. <3
From beauty4ashes.loved:
You said, "I have always listened to heavy metal to get me through rough times"...
I like to figure out ways to relate to music lyrics. It helps me feel like others can relate to me.
I'm glad you posted on HeartSupport. Thanks for being with us.
I just discovered you last night and i absolutely love your reactions so far instant subscription
I love how you break down the lyrics of the song that I could never pick up-Thank you for that!
Love your involvement in this song! Such a banger!
people not used to this kind of music turns it down the minute they hear the intro, but if understood.. just like your analyzing, they'll dig this masterpiece
Best reaction video EVER!!! 🤘🤘😝😝😝😝
Love your reaction... at most when u heard this beautiful chorus ❤❤❤
Imagine , she's walking into her work , her office and while walking thru waiting room or so she is rocking out to this song while all very disturbed patience just watching her terrified :)
And a new metal head is born. I'm glad that you seem to be enjoying yourself.
