    Great video, you kept it simple, and easy. Good teaching job. Loved the way you just showed how to do it, instead of trying to explain the obvious over and over again.

    Thanks ,just what I'm looking for. I'm playing a guitar but I love this style of picking. Alot of the old songs sound so good with this style. LindaP

    did you cut the holes yourself in the banjo head? does it project louder to the audience that way? i'm interested in getting more volume out of my open back.

      I'm not sure those are holes, they may be where pickups are attached to the back of the skin.

    I have a Chinese chin chin banjo that is the same size as a tenor banjo. Anyway I can make it into a 5 string banjo or should I make it into a banjolele?

    this is a great site. thank you. but how do you apply these patterns when playing a chord that doesn't use the upper G string. I just started trying to learn banjo. Do you have a video showing picking with other chords?

    • @ackeim
      @ackeim  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes you change the fifth string to match the key you are in. For instance, you tune the fifth string up to A when the song is on the key of D or A. You might tune the fifth string down to F when playing in the key of f.

    What kind of bridge is that?

    • @ackeim

      Reminiscent of that two-footed bridge Pete Seeger used, but it's not the same. I believe he said his design creates more volume from his open-back. Does yours do the same?

    • @clawhammer704
      @clawhammer704 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Pete's bridge was made by someone he knew. If I remember correctly it was made from computer board material.
