      +NeatMike Hmmm... Okay Michael, I can take a hint. You're not much of a Minecraft guy. I can respect that... I will have you know that i ALSO am a "High Quality" Hot Wheels unboxer. So I'm pretty sure that i can take on Rocket League with flying colors. Hit me up Michael if you're looking for a true challenge.

    As a Grand Champion (top rank) I can agree with these tips - probably one of the best tips video for Rocket League! But the 1v4 bots is a little unreliable, since bots are so random and sometimes you will stomp them and sometimes they will stomp you. Also, if you are looking to improve, do NOT play 1v1. 1v1 can improve your ball control/dribbles and your judgement of when to go for the ball, but that's it. The best way to improve is to simply keep playing and enjoy it! :D

      +Computerpajo have you had any improvement by analyzing your own games? I was looking into it a while back but stopped because I was too lazy to do so.

      freakenproduction Generally I find that you will notice your mistakes in-game, but I suppose you would notice more from watching them back. I don't watch them back and still notice mistakes. Hope this answers your question haha don't really know how to explain. :D

    Nothing pisses me off more in this game than people who just blindly chase the ball. Not only does it usually not result in scoring goals, but makes incredibly infuriating when trying to defend that those guys keep bouncing the ball next to the net, sometimes making it almost impossible to to predict what stupid thing they are going to do next to be able to clear the thing.

    You know what
    This is the first video I've ever seen by you and I chose to watch it on a whim because, learning more about Rocket League can't hurt you.
    I found your video:
    A) Very, very, very informative and helpful. I had no idea the cars had differing turn radii, thanks for that tip sir!
    B) Very entertaining to watch. You remind me of Cr1tikal the way you put words together in sentences such that they are both understandable and hilarious.
    C) You clearly know what the hell you're talking about and your very casual way of speaking really shows that. This is information that you have not only learned, but have been thinking about for a very long time.
    I wouldn't say I'm a better player than you, not by any means at all. I average lower Challenger 1 divisions on ranked for the most part. I've been improving since I bought the game in February, but lately I've hit a wall that doesn't allow me to advance.
    I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks that the training is absolutely useful and that an unfair bot match is a great to up your game. I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only one thinking 1v1 games are the most useful online games to play (as far as gaining experience goes).
    Like I said before, NeatMike, I think you made a super solid video for beginners. I enjoyed it very much and I may journey further into your channel before everything is all said and done.
    Keep up the amazing work man, you freaking rock!

    Another really good tip I've learned the hard way for myself is to get comfortable switching back and forth between having the ball cam on and off. When I first started, I had ball cam on all the time, and that was a tough way to begin learning. Then I just had it off all the time, and I got a lot better, but after I got to a certain level, I just couldn't compete anymore with higher ranked players. Once I got a handle on knowing when to switch the cam, and consequently also got comfortable with adjusting how the car controls when you switch the cam, just that one single element propelled me into being way more successful. You need to have real mastery over your view of what's going on on the field at all times.

    One thing to note in 1v1s and any kickoff in general is to wait a little bit before hitting the ball on kickoff. Normally it will hit the ball right after they hit it sending the ball straight ahead towards their goal.

    All his tips are very good. I would also go more in depth on the "Anaylze Your Opponent".
    1.) If they are closer to the ball, then they will hit it first... be a few steps ahead like in chess and think about where they might be aiming to hit the ball.
    2.) Aerials are different. If your opponent jumps first, they will probably get to the ball first. Even if your closer, most likely you will either hit the ball at the same time or get ousted.
    3.) You can hit the ball sure. But you can block too. If you can manage to block an incoming shot or hard kick hit, most of the time your opponent will have overextended and will need to recover from that. This gives you opportunity to score. Even better still if you can deny any nearby boost in the area he's recovering in because if he has access to full boost, he can recover pretty quickly to defend sometimes and at the same time it gives you boost to quickly score. More times than not, its about where the ball is going to be. Not where it currently is.
    But all in all, NeatMike and many of the TH-cam Rocket League tips vids have it down what you should and should not do.

    • @tehcookievanilla1323
      @tehcookievanilla1323 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      2nd point is kind of wrong, if you see your opponent aerial or double jump aerial, fast aerial to get there quicker, could land you in a better 50/50 or touch it before them.

    • @vysearcadia522
      @vysearcadia522 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a defensive tip aimed at beginners. I wouldn't give a tip like that to confuse them though, once they learned how to properly manage positioning which is what most of these tips are pretty much about, then they can take opportunities like this.
      Its the same with blocking though. If they jump first, instead of waiting for the hit, they can jump up and aerial for a block if they can determine where they will be hitting it as another option.

    I'm surprised you didn't mention ball cam. I feel like a lot of beginners shy away from ball cam because they want to drive the car like they would drive normal cars. But being able to ALWAYS know where the ball is gives you such an advantage. Sure, go ahead and turn ball cam off if you want to go for boost or something. But make your default ball cam. Eventually you'll even get good enough to know where boosts are without looking around.

    Something you never show for some reason is how to win kickoffs to the side. It's really common to win a kick off by sending the ball up the right or left side. This creates a wide open aerial shot and is a really strong and tool for new players

    As you are facing off in 1v1, tilt your camera angle up with your right analog stick (default settings) so you can place your opponent over the ball. This will allow you to determine where to hit the ball, or if you can take the shot as they are waiting in goal. You can do some really sick plays by having this info, as they rush towards the ball for the first play of the game. 👌🏾

    I'm mid champion level and I would say dribbling plays a big part too. Learning to flick that ball can gain much distance and many goals in the field. Don't always hit the ball across the field but instead dibble it past a few people.

    Loved this. I've had Rocket league since it came out on ps4 because it's a great Co op game to play with my boyfriend. I completely agree about each car having a different feel. I play with the Scarab style because that one works best for me.

    sitting and waiting for my opponent to hit the ball is exactly what I do XD. you have put out some great tips and gained a sub ;).
    P.S if you want first touch to be almost garented at the start boost and then Dodge forward and to the side at the same time just as you run out of the initial boost. this hits the ball hard and will at least knock it far away but I don't recommend it in 1v1 as its totally uncontrolled.

    I think one of the most important things about playing wellbis judging your oponents hit. This is more useful at higher levels as i am a Champion as i tend to win more games off judging whether my oponents gonna hit it hard or soft and positipning myself accordingly.

    Me and my friends are good at hitting the ball, getting shots, saving, dribbling etc. But we lose so many games because we just can't find any good strategy to win with, could you make a video about teamwork and 3v3/2v2 strategies?

    • @TvKAmazing
      @TvKAmazing 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Dougger00 There isn't really a strategy. Get the boost management and starving opponents down, and you'll see tremendous improvement.

    • @hectorpasapera9871
      @hectorpasapera9871 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dougger00 Besides boost management I'd say rotation, in a 3v3 if the other 2 guys are going for an offensive play, stay behind them, midfield at least (or 1/3 of the field in your side), that way you can pick up wiffs, centers or try to save long shots that might end up in a goal...always try to be rotating positions with the other team members...rotation is key if you ask me.

    • @panobato5984
      @panobato5984 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      When the ball is in one of the opponents corners, have one person try to pass it to center, the other person stands at the middle of the pitch/court aligned with the goal aswell, so he/she can hit the ball into the goal once it's centered, or, he/she in middle can go back to goal if things get out of hand.

    • @panobato5984
      @panobato5984 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jed Francis also,
      P
      R
      A
      C

      C

    • @panobato5984
      @panobato5984 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jed Francis also, don't both go for the ball in the kick-off, have the person in forward go,have the other person go in the middle of the middle of the pitch and the goal line, so 1/4 of the whole court/pitch, getting ready for the follow-up from the kick-off, where ever the ball goes, that person will pick up the 100 boost nearest to the ball and then go for the ball

    Any advice for player who is starting to play with controller, but I was playing it until level 31 with keyboard? :D btw. I'm not like "wohooo pc master race" but I never played anything with controller except fifa 14, so it's super uncomfortable for me, but I want to learn it, because I know if I will master controller then I'll be better :D

    • @otherchi
      @otherchi 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have any actual advice, but I suggest that you avoid using the right thumb stick. If you want to see where you're headed, switch out of ball cam. Other than that, you should be in ball cam most of the time. I play with a controller and I hardly ever use the right thumb stick. Eventually everything will be second nature but until then, you should experiment with the controller - figure out what works best for you. Good luck!

I missed not moving ball.. :D + it's weird for me to do "rolls" in air I always forget to push the stick at the right moment to do roll and I always just fly around instead of doing the roll(also sorry If I'm doing any grammar mistakes, english is not my first language :D)

      switch your controls up before it is too late!! having jump/boost and air roll all next to each other means you cant press them all at the same time!! So stick one on one of the bumpers your not using ie LB
      Also, only use air roll for settling your car for landing to begin with, dw about fancy freestyle till your comfy smacking them in the net again.

I'm by no means a furry myself but to actually tell someone to kill themselves purely because he/she is a furry is just ridiculous. But then again what should we except from the internet.. it's just a sad place filled with hate these days.

    Thanks for uploading this, I will be playing a bit more 1v1 to train my basics and my ball controll. Though i found this video helpfull in that regard, i feel like you should have mentioned something like passing to your teamates in 2v2 or 3v3, instead of trying to go for the goal yourself. I find this to be a big problem in many of my games, and i feel it is almost as important as knowing when to shoot, and knowing when to control the ball. Great video none the less.

    Neat, I need your help. I am having a lot of trouble with Rocket League at the moment and I want to become like really good at this game however, I sadly suck quiet a lot. I switched my controls back to default yesterday and I am having a lot of trouble with the game all over again. It's mostly I think ball control and my offensive game. Also, my defense suffers from my offense. My defense was really good with my previous controls but, I changed my controls because of the lack of flexibility of my car. So I had the accelerator/decelerator at the analog and when I tried to move diagonal my car wouldn't move because that's a 45 /135/125/315 degree angle and Rocket League doesn't know what I am doing because that's right between the move forward/sideways or the other way around. So, I changed my controls and now I suck really bad. Also, my previous control did not help with my offensive plays.Also, I play on MacBook Air so I can't download the trainer. Most people I ask tell me I should practice but, I've been playing with these controls a lot today and yesterday and I've pretty much gotten used to them it's just my offensive game won't work out. I would appreciate the help, thank you.
