Considering the timeline in the scene: if the character managed to get from underground to the helicopter and take off within 2 minutes, that would leave roughly 3 minutes of flight time before the detonation. At that rate, the helicopter would ascend about 5,340 feet. For those on the ground in a 1.14 km radius, this means they would experience an overpressure of about 5 psi, which is enough to cause widespread injuries and significant fatalities. Most people in direct exposure within a radius of 2.24 km would suffer third degree burns, and while the stone structures would likely survive, many wooden structures would be potentially crumpled and on fire.

To be fair the film did show at least a decent level of that damage/injury so while not 100% accurate it wasnt a classic hollywood boom
