Obviously when a game has been around as long as MTG, power creep will be a thing. With a lot of the cards from this set, it feels like fun creep. This will be a fun set to play with.
There's a reason I"m buying a box after passing on doing so with Neon dynasty and Streets. This set seems to be less 'Power creep' and more "Power sprint'
@@craigstuckey319 I love the mono colored when they deal combat damage to a player roll a D20 dragons. My main edh deck right now is galazeth prismari, you better believe I'm putting the roll a D20, make that many treasure tokens dragon in there.
I remember Gavin talking about arcane signet, he said “I think this proved there’s not much else we should do with 2-mana rocks, but I’m excited for all the potential design space in 3-mana rocks.” Now we’re really seeing that come to fruition, and I’m all for it.
I think this is just a fun mana rock to go in a lot of decks, not the best but at least fun. Who doesn't like rolling a dice every turn for giggles, again as long as you have enough artifacts it makes sense 😀
This card is very good with Darksteel Reactor. There are plenty of ways to move the counters from Vexing Puzzlebox on Darksteel Reactor. The easiest way is Dismantle which can put 20 counters on Darksteel Reactor by destroying Vexing Puzzlebox. If you have a way to turn artifacts into creatures you can also use Fate Transfer or The Ozolith. True Polymorph and Mizzium Transreliquat are also good options. Just turn the Puzzlebox into a Darksteel Reactor after it has 20 counters.
I’m more interested in a convoluted way to turn this into a creature, sacrifice it, have ozolith out, and move a ridiculous amount of charge counters to something like lightning reaver
I think I'll try it in my big simic creature deck. Worst case scenario it's a Mana rock. Best case scenario it grabs me a blight steel or planar bridge.
I'm wanting to rework ishin with majority of my creatures having dice roll attack triggers, hoping this set gives me enough to start brewing. If so, im gonna need this card for sure
How about Brago? I am running a build with lots of artifacts as win cons, once you go infinite / or almost infinite/ with strionic resonator you can just tutor your win cons to the battlefield straight away, and it's still kind of a budget card
on its own, it's kind of swingy, but in a dice rolling deck it's kinda busted. It's not hard to roll 10 dice every two or so turns and a search as broad as this could just win you the game on the spot.
Rolling 2 dice and ignoring one means in MtG terms that you only rolled one die. It only amounts to about a 5% increase on a d20. I would not call that massive.
no basically you roll 2 dice get the highest result and that is the one you mark on the puzzlebox...so for example if you rol a 2 and a 15 you only put 15 charge counters on the puzzle box
So I started subscribing to this channel for it's unique ideas; but it feels just plain commercialized now. Do we want this card to to worth more? Let's make a video.
It’s also a great interaction with isochron sceptre and dramatic reversal, essentially tutoring all your artifacts into play

Seems like an overall decent set. Not crazy powerful but not terrible either.

This looks interesting. I might add it to my Saheeli deck.
Day by day I'm getting closer to building a dice tribal deck with "as luck would have it"
I'm building and RNG Grixis deck using Vial Smasher and Sakashima.
Do it!! I built one not too long ago and playing a deck that's mostly just luck is so much fun!
Same applies to a coin flip deck 🤣
Dont forget that krark's other thumb

Ooooh, I do love slightly janky win-cons. Time to build a deck around this very premise
Resourceful defense ftw
@@zealot246 Thanks! Forgot about that one.
I've been working on a die-roll deck with stuff from Forgotten realms and un-sets. This is a must-have for me.

Move them to your Blightsteel Colossus.

Glad they're incorporating critical roll into the D&D set
Now, does flipping a coin count as rolling a d2?
Getting Triskelion with this card in order to combo with Heliod seems like a decent idea. It’s slow but it is also ramp.
Another toy for Brudiclad! Copy it a few times and then tap them to search out whatever you want.

If you roll one or more dice, you add the result. Doesn’t that mean that you add both results?
The result of the dice roll is the total of all dice. Just one result
Plus if your play group is okay with it, Krarks other thumb is a great addition to this card
I imagine we see a Eternal-legal reprint of Krark's Other Thumb in Unfinity.

Is this supposed to be the jeweled lotus of the set or what
Def not. This card is very meh, super hard to activate
It’s like a weird commander’s sphere
Aaaaaaaaand that's banned. Because, let's be honest... someone is going to blightsteel colossus somebody and they will complain.
There are INFINITELY easier ways to cheat Blighsteel into play than an artifact that requires 100 counters. Definitely not getting banned.
