Tuomas father passed away in 2021. He wrote this as a love song to celebrate those who are no longer with us. The folks in the background are people from a bygone era and have moved on to a better place. The last guy was Pope Leo XIII. 😄🤘
Yep. this is the meaning of the song. The title though, in my opinion, refers to the light coming out of ;what was used to be called Magic Lantern, which is an early type of image projector that used pictures,paintings,prints or photographs , on transparent plates,usually made of glass, and a light source.The whole way of showing throughout the video the light source of a projector ,as well as, the ending where clearly the sound of a film running to its end , also points out to the images saved in films that are memories that stay alive and are enhanced when we look back to them.

This is another Tuomas Holopainen masterpiece. He only keeps on getting better as his talent and vision matures. Absolutely stunning. This composition is as deep as the Marianas Trench and has more layers than a baklava. It is exquisite.
I'm 73 and I am the last man standing in my family. This performance runs deep, cuts deep. I understand the loss, yet I still live with hope and intent. Nevertheless, Floor's voice and this composition is akin to an emotional depth charge to the heart. Her face, good Lord, her beautiful face so expressive and adorned with nothing save her heart and soul just melts me to my core. Some of you get it. Some of you don't. I do, and that's all that matters. Kiitos to all of you in Nightwish for delivering such epic and emotional story telling.
