    i would never reconcile with parents who would even consider to put me up for adoption just cause of how i looked.

      Right. They just want to recover from all the guilt they are feeling for what they did to her.

      Not just because of how it looked. Remember it said her father said they only wanted one child

      Taking them into your life after 18yrs of indifference and neglect is not something I would suggest. 18yrs..........not like 18 months. They knew exactly what they were doing and still didn't try to change. Was life after leaving home good? If so, do you really need them into your life?

    There is no way to make up for 18 years of knowingly choosing to neglect your child. And the mindset is still there, meaning they'll have to make up for a lifetime of neglect in 4 years, so they can continue to ignore OP after her sis comes back from college.

    • @cuteONE22

      Nothing will change and only the future will tell her. Her sister's graduation, marriage, children will be a priority to OP's parents. She will set herself up for more hurt

    • @Suited_Nat
      @Suited_Nat 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Either way, it’s up to OP to decide. Whether her parents actually put the effort to change is on them, and OP has set boundaries for herself to feel safe.

    Maybe OOP feel so lonely that when people approach them to be 'family', they accept it just to seek that warmth even it is conditional. Poor OOP. I wish they'll find people who truly love them sincerely.

    If parents have been awful to you for 18 years, their not going to change and get better in 3 years of not seeing them. Narcissists don't turn around in that tiny amount of time

    The parents sudden attempt for reconciliation seems self-serving to me. How did they suddenly have such a drastic change of heart after treating their own child that way? I don’t buy it for a second. After reading the truth from the father, I would’ve thanked him for the honesty and then blocked them all for good.

  • @notnormalguy106

    Are they kidding? Like, y'all be leaving a kid alone and totally favouring the other one. I don't know why some people behave like this. And that grandfather is really something, like asking the OP to be the same as her sister. Heck no! And the fact that they wanted a single child only, it just proved how selfish they were. And another fact that they literally tried to put her into adoption because the OP didn't have blue eyes is just horrifying. Even though her parents did reach out to her, it isn't possible to forget or undo 18 years of favouritism.
    Anyways, first comment here

  • @Dev.L
    @Dev.L 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I wouldn't trust that. I feel like they're reconciling for their own benefit, not OP's. She said they're alone, so once her sister is out of college, I feel like it'd drift back to the way it was before.
    If they feel bad, let them feel bad for at least 18 years.

    If I was presented with this, I would let Dad know to tally up the difference in money spent between me and my sister, to put a value on the time and energy difference, and pay me that amount before any sort of relationship could move forward with no stipulations Id have to remain if it didnt work or paying it back if it didnt work. Seems fair.

    The bad part is that they knew what they where doing was and still is wrong from day one. Yet they still did it. What's to say that they will not continue to do it with her children when she has them? I say nothing.

      Exactly.
      And they almost always mention grandparents even when it isn't even their own grandparents, which only makes it look weirder when they are forcibly inserted into the narrative.
      IMHO it's either plain old lazy writing or an AI farting them out.

    You don't show a baby to prospective adoptive parents and have the twin baby sister on display.
