Thank you for showing the beautiful Yale and YDS1 on display at one of my favorite places in the world, the Barber Motorsports Museum. Yamaha’s first twin was the YD1 250 of 1957 and was a non sports, four speed, single carburetor model that did indeed have the 54x54mm bore engine carried in a pressed steel frame. The bike shown however is the 1959 250S YDS1 which featured a 5speed transmission and a 56x50mm bore and stroke that would be retained all the way up to the D6S 250 of 1970.
I didn't seem to here anything about a DKW or Hercules or some other of the german small two strokes. Is there going to be a video about Hercules by any chance? Most video's are in german so it would be interesting to have one in English so more people can get to know them.
Good call, I,m biased though, having bought a DKW RT200 vs earlier this year, good fun, handles well, vibrates !! , brakes of their time i.e. , puny, cheap to run though!😄😄
@bikerdood1100 Great! I would like a run down on on the C90 series. Specifically the 110 CT offroad 🤣 I rebuild them. But I am in South Africa so lack perspective 😜
That was an enjoyable and very informative series; thank you! 👍
Thanks for watching
Will be doing other things soon
