oh my gosh...I so needed this video.I decided to go natural(no relaxer)about six years ago,and don't regret it.now I'm overwhelmed with gray hair.I've had grey since my mid- 20s and started to dye my hair around 30..I'm now 46 and have decided to stop dying it.I'm only 2 months in but I'm learning to love my greys. and I'm excited to be going on this journey.thank you silver foxy.
You look wonderful wth your silver hair but I wonder to whom you've been talking to get some of these "facts". I've been coloring my hair since my 20's and now it's almost to my waist. My hair is softer, smoother and thicker after I color it. I use Revlon Colorsilks which is very highly rated yet costs abt 3 bucks a box. I use two boxes every six weeks, takes me abt an hour from opening the box to wrapping a towel around my head after a shower. I use Pantene shampoo and conditioner(ALWAYS on sale!) for colored hair and I love the way my hair looks and feels. Once a year I treat myself to highlights at Hair Cuttery. The stylist I use used to work at several high end salons in NYC. The HC salon visit always include a cut and blowdry. Except for that yearly splurge(even that is only abt $100 plus tip and abt 2 hours), I spend no more than $50-$60 and less than 10 hours in the bathroom. So for around $200 and one work day time wise, I LOVE how my hair looks it makes me feel amazing!
@Bink it's amazing how different women can be. I used to get and still do get an occasional hot flush (we dont uses flash in UK English in which I was schooled and is my mother tongue 😉). Because I have Lupus I was told menopause could be a problem for me as I can't use hrt. Luckily I only have to use 5g of cream twice weekly. Putting on weight around my middle, I have to work at just by not eating certain things or not too much of somethings, like bread. It's a very closely monitored item, but I love making breads so I feed it to everyone else. So no real hot flushes, no major weight gain (actually lost some). What I don't like is my skin and hair changing but that's manageable, but the worst I have found was my breast size increased 😭. Even if I loose weight that's the last place I loose, and I hate it! Otherwise I found peri- menopause horrific in comparison. I was a monster to live with. Menopause has been rather kind to me, maybe because my body thought I needed a break seeing as I struggle with pain from Fibromyalgia and Lupus 😉 Of my five sisters only one didn't have hot flushes but all the others did and also all are struggling with their weight. So besides the larger chest I'm pretty happy with it 😆
When we let our hair GREY naturally, we allow ourselves to become more natural in other areas of our lives too. New make up, hair style, more colour in our wardrobes and more compliments and WHO doesn't like the rise in personal self-esteem?
@@alegriart sometimes “new makeup” can be more natural products, more natural application, less, who knows... it can mean anything. We can’t project our own definition.
I started lightening my hair back when I was 15years of age, till 17-18. than I noticed that I had a patch of white/silver hair in the front hairline since my 20s, that's when I started to dye my hair. changed colours till I found a colour that I loved and could live with...kept that colour for over 20+years. Went through cancer and lost my waist length straight hair...brrr, winter was very cold without hair but when it grew back it was very tight curls and a lot of silver in patches along the front hairline....it was as soft as a baby's hair but wasn't ready to let the grey show, so I dyed it. but noticed it was growing faster, about 5-6hours after dying my hair I could see new growth the same day. I dealt with this for a few years and after 6-7 years I decided I was done dying my hair. my hair is healthy, grows faster, I have natural streaks in the front and the rest is sprinkled with grey. I have been letting it be natural for almost 5years and I love it...some days it's darker than other days, just depends on how I part my hair...lol!!! I call my streaks, my wisdom highlights and I love them. ❤❤❤ I will never dye my hair again. btw...15years cancer free.🎉🎈
@@michellebonneau413 Meant to say, After 30 plus yrs, I stopped coloring mine. Started coloring my dusty brown hair at 18-52. After brackage, I cut it and said, "if it grew back, I'd take care of it better." Many are complimenting me on it.
I dyed my hair for over 40 years. Had it every color in the book. Got so fed up I went to the salon and had my beautician put blond grey highlights so I could grow it out permanently. I could not believe it when it grew out the most beautiful platinum blond white couldn’t be happier. My hair also grew back thicker on my crown where it had previously fallen out. Honestly embrace what you have sometimes change isn’t such a good thing.
I’m watching this because I’m considering stopping dyeing my hair. I have dark hair and I dye my grey hairs at home every few weeks but I’m seriously considering stopping. I’ve been dyeing my hair for over 2 decades at least.
@Sharon Kutz Thank you. 🙂 I just passed 7 months as well. I have so much outgrowth that it seems to blend in.The ends of my hair still look darker. I just had a haircut about two days ago and cut off an inch. Most of my grey is actually only at the front temple areas so the rest of my natural hair people tell me isn't that grey.
Do it!! I wanted to do it 10 years or more ago but got put off by family and friends saying it wouldn't suit me/would make me look old! I got to 60 and thought "that's it! I'm just going for it!". Two years and 2 months on, can honestly say it's one of the best things I've ever done plus I get tons of compliments on my natural hair colour, far more than I ever did with dyed hair 🙂
@@chrissymac9174 I stopped dyeing my hair 9 months ago because I developed an allergy to the dye so I quit cold turkey. I can tell you the grey hair doesn't make me look any older, it's just a lighter hair colour. It turns out I only have grey hair around the temples so it sort of looks like chunky highlights! I definitely don't miss making a mess of my bathroom every 3 weeks! I'm 46. Never thought I would stop dyeing my hair at this age but once you develop an allergy it takes all the fun out of dyeing your hair. No one has commented about my grey hair in the past 9 months. I don't think anyone cares based on my experience! And I've discovered it only looks grey in strong sunlight. Indoors it just looks brown. I'm not going back to dyeing my hair.
Hey I love this video 😍 I stopped coloring my hair 2 months ago and you are right a lot of compliments on my white and silver new growth. I stopped due to itchiness and horrible scalp issues after coloring and now my scalp is super healthy 😘 thank you for your video it was much needed support for us silver haired gals
Wonderful! I have just started my journey! Almost 1 month now, usually I have touched it up by now, at around the 3 week mark. My hair has gotten so thin underneath that I'm almost bald. I could just cry. The face that you said my hair will grow back if I stop dying it has given me new hope. Even if it just stops falling out at this point, I can live with that. I will be all white and I cannot wait! Thanks for your video! :-)
I stopped dying my gray hair blonde a year ago. So glad I did---my hair has never looked more beautiful. It is shiny, silky and soft instead of frizzy, dry and brittle. Not to mention the time and money I am saving.
I never even thought that if I stopped dyeing my hair it would grow in faster. I figured it would be healthier but not sure how it would look. I think I will give it a go. Thanks for the tips. ❤️❤️❤️😘😘
Started going grey by age 19, so I've been dyeing and highlighting ever since. I'm going on 5 months now & I'm determined to get through this. In June it'll be a year since I dyed it on my 45th Birthday. I'm ready to let the color go despite looking like a calico cat colorings....white, silver, 'bl-orange' aka bleached untoned highlights, dark brown and whatever else is in there ha ha. Watching these videos really helps because I'm nervous with the upcoming holidays fast approaching. Thank you!
This video makes me feel so much better about going grey!!! The lady who used to color my hair said you sure you dont want to color it? I said no. She said "not even for a wash and set?"I said "I ALREADY KNOW HOW TO WASH MY OWN HAIR...I'm so sorry but until I want something special done, I won't be seeing you" it was a liberating moment and now I feel so good about owning it all. So many compliments from people (men mostly) I appreciate them...a lot!!!
Getting off of the “bottle” nine years ago was the best thing that I could have ever done. Yes, the compliments never stop coming. My gray hair started coming in 44 years ago. Do the math. I’m 60 and 44 years earlier I started to gray (thanks Dad). Once I made the decision to go natural, my hair gets it fair share of comments and questions such as “you are prematurely gray, is your hair painted (???????? on that one) you know that we are just in love with granny hair (?????? on that one as well”. Embrace your grace, it’s such a liberating thing to do.
When I learned that I was going to be a granny I decided to get rid of the hair dye for GOOD!! Cut it off, it has since grown long & I ❤❤❤ my silver hair!
I love my hair now that it’s silver! I feel completely liberated. My family is getting use to it. This is the real me. I feel sorry for my friends that are still struggling with covering up who they really are. My only regret is that my late husband never got to see me in my new look!!
I stopped dying my hair 4 years ago. Best thing I’ve ever done. Saved over £1000 every year. Hair is in fabulous condition. I get so many compliments. I’m 52.
I have not dyed my hair in 4 months now, decided to see what my silver looks like on me. I have not seen my natural hair in any amount for 25 yrs and have suffered hair loss for it. I have noticed new hair growth and an increase in body. The crazy thing is my hair bleeding out the hair dye, this is something I only saw in a couple of washes after a new coloring but now every wash had colored my shampoo!
I think the KEY word for me here is FREEDOM - absolutely true - my calendar is freed up, my hard earned cash is no longer in bondage to my roots! Women need to surround themselves with positive people and wear their silver crowns with confidence!
Love the video! All you need to know is right to the point, w/o personal insecurities about going grey, no friends or family stories or other needless crap. Thank you!!!
I joined the Silver Sisterhood about 18 months ago. I had shoulder length dyed to original auburn color. Got tired of the constant dying. I started using temp color every 4 weeks for about 6 months until I had about 2 inches of new hair that the color would wash out of. I cut it all off to a very short pixie and stopped the temp colors. After 1 year my hair is now in a bob at chin level all natural with a great silver and auburn blend. I get stopped and asked constantly how I got the silver highlight blend. I just laugh and say I cut it all off and let it do it's own natural thing. I am loving my beautiful silver hair.
Letting my hair grow out, was the best thing I ever did. My hair was dyed bright red. So bright red, with grey roots. I loved growing out, watching the grey grow longer and longer, and the red shorter and shorter, till eventually the last cut and I was all grey. I love my hair, people think I've had it coloured, or streaked. It's been five years now. So well before it was trendy to have grey hair. So, my advice is just grow it out. You'll love it. :-)
I've got salt and pepper (mostly salt) and I quit coloring it about 10 years ago. About 2 years ago I started taking biotin supplements, and my hair is now down to my waist. My nails got stronger, too.
I’ll try growing out my grey hairs to see if I get any compliments. I have nice brunette hair and people never compliment my dyed hair. I actually dyed my hair on Sunday but I really want to stop dyeing it. Luckily my hair is pretty healthy. I don’t use permanent dye.
I’ve been toying with the idea for about a year now - finally made the decision two days ago ! Three weeks since my last dye and already I have 2cm of peppered black and grey. Thanks to your vid I’m gonna go for it !!!
This is such a cool message! I am 42 and the silver is really growing in, I was highlighting my hair, but haven't colored it in over two years. This vid makes me feel more confident about it...I also wear it extremely long, down past my waist, which I thinks challenges another stereotype that women of a certain age should cut their hair..love the fact that women are embracing their silver...after all, we earned every strand ;)
yes! Your hair must be gorgeous! I also love long hair (although I cut it a couple of months ago -- growing it long again :) I'm happy that you enjoyed this video!
It's crazy how women are told how to wear our hair(length, color), what to wear at what age, who to date, etc. My new motto is to do the things that bring me joy as long as I don't hurt myself or others. I am learning that what others think of me doesn't matter. I cared for way too long. Approaching 50 has made me take a look at my own judgments and try to let them go. It's a process.
I was about 14-15 years old when I started dyeing my hair and stopped at 31 ... I may not have grey hair but it's true my hair grew in thicker and was so soft, silky and shiny ... I also didn't realize how pretty my natural colour was
I dyed my long hair until it reached a critical mass of gray. My plan was to strip the dye out and go natural. Alas, apparently red dye doesn't strip and I had long hair. I went with a major chop to about shoulder length and one final dye with foil - 33% red, 33% natural brown, and the rest no color at all. It was a good way for me to skip the skunk stripe without a buzz cut. Now I rock the silver and I'm never going back. I've even been asked if the silver is a dye job!
I am so glad I stopped dyeing my hair! It took a couple of months to get used to the new look but it's been five months now, and I think I look younger and more vibrant with my white and gray streaks than I did before. No regrets!
Your hair is so beautiful. I’m only 35 but I have as much gray hair as my mom. My dad has had gray hair for as little by as I can remember and I take after him. I think in the next 10 years I’ll be all gray. I decided it stop coloring my hair now since I have a problem with natural red highlights so my hair turns purple with most dyes. These videos are very inspiring!
I'm glad I saw your video, I'm 61 and still color my hair a soft black. My sister tells me not to color it anymore cause my hair is a very pretty silver, not gray. I think I'll stop coloring my hair and see what happens. Thanks.
I'm 10 months into no coloring and loving it! My white is softer and hair is growing faster! Getting lots of compliments. Can't wait till it's fully color free!😜
My hair is dye black but silver growing through just starting to let it grow out now love what you had to say foxy silver I'm going to own my silver as it grows thankyou I'm loretta spaven not Brian lol x
The hair part is what causes the demarcation. I am combing my hair straight back, which makes the gray hairs appear more subtle. I will use hair bands and scarves to cover up the grays as they grow longer. At some point, I can go back to the hair part. I intend to keep my length. I am retired so I do not have to be so concerned with my appearance during the awkward stages. Best wishes to everyone.
Glad I watched this. It affirms my decision to go grey. Actually Covid lockdown did it. 4 months of not dying my hair after years...I noticed healthier hair at the roots. I’ve had hair loss for years & it seems thicker now. I’m not sure if it’s just the coarser greys but I’ll take it. Thank you.
I dye my hair at home every 2-3 weeks and it only takes 30 minutes....and I use the Revlon dye that is $3.99. I only buy on sale and use coupons which makes it even cheaper...the only special items I use for my hair is shampoo and conditioner for colored hair using that and the conditioner that comes in the box of dye..My hair is very long but all I recolor is the roots. I hate my gray hair it is pure white and I look about 10-15 years older than I am! Nope until I can't do any more I will continue to dye!!
I stopped dyeing it for one year and then added back in some dark brown in the front. Waited another year and added some dark brown again. I don't know if I'll quit for good, but the most important part is being authentic. For now, an in between things fits me.
I bit the bullet and kept my hair short and got frequent trims. This resulted in my hair blending itself therefore coming out very natural looking. I swear it’s true that it feels thicker and I have hairs actually growing in. I do have days where I want my hair back to dark and burgundy etc but I’m trying to keep it silver. I get compliments and even had a man tell me not to change it cause it looked good.
Since I stopped dyeing my hair, it gets stronger and thicker and much more healthy with a strong shine on the grey part. I can't wait until all of my hair is grey. And the hair care is so easy now.
I stopped dying about 3 years ago after a bad reaction to the dye I had used for years, it is now so much softer & stronger with far fewer split ends with the bonus of my waves coming back. I've also kept it long resisting some of my family's urging to cut it.
My hair as gotten much softer since I stopped coloring. It really seems like it's in much better shape I'm really excited about growing mine out I'm 57 years Young and proud of it plus I'm happy I'm not putting chemicals into my body any longer
I have been dyeing my hair since age 30. Do you actually think I like this? I am now 65. But I have brown eyes and sallow/olive complexion. I look awful in gray hair. My hair was originally dark brown, so I have gone blonde and I love it. Have had numerous compliments. My sister has blue eyes and looks fabulous in grey hair. Blue or green eyes can do grey hair.
Growing out my silver hair at age 61 was the bravest thing I've ever done. I knew it would look good because my Mom has the same color and she looks great. I don't miss the harsh chemicals penetrating my hair shafts into my brain. The smell is dangerous. I invest in a good haircut, makeup, and eyeglass frames.
I don't dye my hair anymore. A friend of mine had dyed her hair so much she was going bald. It's been 5 years since I have dyed my hair. I am 70 years old and my hair is so healthy and turning a blonde white color. I had natural red hair.❤😊
I’m 15 and have dyed my hair since I was 12, probably over 50 times. I recently had to cut it to my chin because of all the damage and breakage. I decided I am done coloring it and want my natural hair color back.
I dye my hair every 10 weeks. I do a better job than salons. Better coverage. I use lighter than my natural color. Tried letting it go grey but looks better with color. Maybe one day. Just cost about $9.
I dye mine every 3 to 4 weeks, very dark. It's quick, easy and costs a few dollars. I would go a cute colour like pink, but never grey, looks good on you though!
I needed to come upon this video today! I just started my silver journey and sometimes I almost think of re-dying my hair especially when I see an older person with their hair dyed and here I am 52 letting the silver shine thru- lol
So true about the compliments . Yes for your hair growing thicker and finally more time for what you want to do. A nice time in your life maybe to change your style..opting for a new look. Worked for me!
Thank-you for your videos. I shaved my head 4 weeks ago and I'm going to just let my hair grow out it's natural color grays and all. I'm sick of coloring it every 4 weeks. You are an inspiration.
Wow, some really heated comments in here! I'm a hair dresser, and I think ppl should do it when they are ready but be aware as the years go by they may want to change shades, or even go with off the scalp foil to blend in with the gray as it grows in, also to avoid putting that chemical on your scalp. It goes right into your bloodstream you know...
Stared my transitioning about 4 month ago and I'm almost completing my journey ,I sport a pixie cut so it's being rather easy on me I love it and I'm rocking it and yes you do get a lot of compliments I work in a clothing store and most of my customers are ladies and they always say something regarding my hair and its always compliments. I feel so good about my decision. Like I said im ROCKING my new natural color.
That's incredible, Alina! You make that pixie look good! Thank you so much for sharing; I know that many people look forward to hearing success stories like yours. Much love
I hope you get to grow your hair long without having to worry about damages that often takes place with colored hair. I'm transitioning right now and can't wait to rock my natural dark hair Jesus gave me. I feel so guilty of destroying the glory God gave me but I'm now thankful that I've learned it the hard way. I've been trying to grow out my hair long uncut but never actually succeeded cuz of the dye in my hair. Best wishes to you!
I love my white hair and get tons of compliments. I DID notice that my once thinning areas are thickening and my hair is naturally shiny. Couldn’t be happier.
Hi. I have hair that has been thinking quite a bit on the crown. I have dyed my roots for many years as the dark color lessens the thinning that emphasizes the scalp. When you quit using due how long did it take for your scalp growth to show healthy thicker hair.??
Ranter Redhead I really can’t say. I did use pre-natal vitamins mostly for my weak nails but that may have helped my hair. Now I use a hair, skin, nails vitamin though my nails still look terrible. I just think dye is generally harder on your hair and scalp and when you stop the health of your scalp improves. If you’re thinning still, I would use Caboki brand fibers. They work great! Comes in all colors, including salt and pepper and white.
I have had very salt and pepper hair since I was 16 colouring it is a waste of time as the white creeps through. Go with it.Your features match and you always look young if you smile.....
Helena Lennon gahhh I’m 37 and have been partly grey, always getting more grey, since I was 16. I always end up dying hair before interviews or when I start dating a younger man, but to stop dying the transition is the issue. I can go two months in between because the grey isn’t concentrated at my part (because I wear an unnatural side part), But of course then I have two inches of grey at temples and in middle of scalp. If I could get through the transition I think i might stop dying it all together. Though there’s a chance it would make me look older and I’d dye it again. But I am curious to try!
I think it may depend on the color you are dying your hair blond is easier to transition but mine was brown and I let it grow for as long as possible then used a lighter color each redo until it all matched.
Stopped dying my hair 12/25/22..cold turkey I have been getting compliments.most think I dyed my roots silver..I never new there was a movement..I was done being a slave to the dye and all the toxins and poisoning chemicals..I would have dyed my hair at least 10 times since I Stopped..did it every two weeks..now I'm free and loving it..my hair is dark and long ..not cutting it short..just getting normal haircuts..thanks for the support
Im 62 yrs old bright spiked red hair and i love it I play electric guitar im a Granny and look after my mum When this virus is all done We end most of lockdown on Saturday Im going to have my hair done again My grandchildren call me Granny sunshine I have had so much sorrow in life ,having my hair done makes me feel good Will have it done right up until im pushing up daisys just my personal preference We can all do what feels right God Bless all of you be happy always jenny 🌹🌹✨🌟
Foxy! Love your intro... you just look gorgeous as always!! Yes I get so many more comments and I love it so much better than when I was coloring!! I love it!! Great to see you gorgeous!!
I stopped dying my hair two years ago. I have had many compliments and someone even asked to take a picture of my hair! She said she wanted her hair to look like mine!
I really needed this video today. I have been stressing about my hair which is 8 months of very grey growth and I've been fighting with to dye or not to dye. (Please God no) when I've came this far. So I'm going for the chop next week. My dyed hair at the middle to ends has literally died anyway. It has also been falling out a lot either due to meds i was taking or stress. I have fibro and am currently off work. When I did dye my hair I usually done it at home and the pain of trying to colour and rinse it would get me so sore and stressed. Constantly chasing the dreaded white line. Hopefully I like the short look and don't faint when I see myself in the mirror. 😲 I'm 43 by the way x
Hi Sheryl! You've made it through the hardest part which is the first few months. You got this! I hope you absolutely love your new haircut. I'd love to see a pic
Silver Foxy thank you yes I've came through the people staring at my roots to now where it's just plain obvious what going on. I hope I like the shorter cut but frankly I don't want to dye it. Your video was great by the way. As always x
Great video and so true!! Going natural was the best decision for me! Love your FB page too. It's a very positive empowering and encouraging group ....keep up the good work! ❤
I don't color my hair. I'm in my mid 40s and this is the first year I am actually getting visible grey coming in. When I was in my 20s I said I didn't want to color my grey when it starts coming in. I'm so thankful to all the women out here, young and old, embracing their grey/silver/white hair and looking beautiful doing it!
Always dyed my hair since, i was about 15 , went grey early as 25 , for year and years i colored . Until one day, i got a very bad allergic reaction from a product, I used all the time with no problems prior .tried others with same results, injurious reactions and now at 55, just going to stop . because the next time could be the last on a bad reaction . Many folks have gone to hospitals with life threatening chemical reactions . the (Price of vanity is NOT worth your life,or your health .) If one is worried about looking old - We all get there . and if you are trying to attract , Wouldn't you want some one to like you for the person you are not what you look like .
My friends have told me that I should never dye my hair. I started going grey in my late 30's. I think people should let their go gray. It looks better
I went gray about 9 years ago and I get more compliments then ever. I always think they are referring my cut but nope it’s my color. I always say that God is my colorist! 😉
The chemicals were really starting to burn my scalp and turn it red. I'm transitioning now. Can't wait till it's over. Hair seems to be getting thicker too.
@Anne Brunner My husband touches my roots up and he's always saying how strong chemical smell is. Now he won't have to be concerned about the smell because I'm growing my roots out going grey.
Quit coloring my hair when my grand daughter was born. 2.5 years now. I have the greatest silver streaks that frame my face. Women have actually came up and asked where I had my highlights done. Totally natural! Loving it!
I stopped coloring my hair a year and a half ago.tired of it always growing out and going back even tho my daughter in law is a hair stylist. Its very liberating not to color and to go grey. Im 62 and Ive earned those greys. I had my daughterinlaw gradually cut my hair a few inches till the color came out. Like I said it took about a year and a half but now Im free!!!Lets go grey ladies! You are beautiful!
I use natural blonde henna (as I am (was 😁) dark blonde by nature) and my hair looks natural without any special treatment. My natural hair colour is not grey but something like brownish pale gray/ecru (because I am dark blonde not black hair! ) so my "grey" hair looks not silver but more like dirty wool 😕 So I prefer stay blonde with dyeing 😄
I actually used to enjoy my 2,5 hours at the hairdressers! However, I’m going grey now cold turkey. No excuses! Just weathering the growing out and looking forward to the end game!
My hair is thick and beautiful now. It has beautiful waves that I never even knew existed because I was colouring it and forcing the waves to sit idle with every hair dye I did. I cannot tell you how many compliments I get from people daily. Young people love it and ask me how I got this colour. I cut my hair pixie style which really suits my hair colour. Red lips and a funky outfit and I feel and look like a rock star! I’ve never felt younger in all my 55 years on this planet!
oh my gosh...I so needed this video.I decided to go natural(no relaxer)about six years ago,and don't regret it.now I'm overwhelmed with gray hair.I've had grey since my mid- 20s and started to dye my hair around 30..I'm now 46 and have decided to stop dying it.I'm only 2 months in but I'm learning to love my greys. and I'm excited to be going on this journey.thank you silver foxy.
Two of the most wonderful things to happen to women, menopause and loving your natural beautiful hair, FREEDOM!!!!!!
I think grey hair is beautiful and it's the real you
@Bink it's amazing how different women can be. Menopause has been rather kind to me, maybe because my body thought I needed a break seeing as I struggle with pain from Fibromyalgia and Lupus 😉
Of my five sisters only one didn't have hot flushes but all the others did and also all are struggling with their weight. So besides the larger chest I'm pretty happy with it 😆
BINK.Yes menopause is evil. I can't agree more. All I can say is hang in there, it will improve in time.
Menopause, really?
My menopause is trying to drive me insane I think!
I have received so many compliments since growing out my grey. I keep it long and stylish
When we let our hair GREY naturally, we allow ourselves to become more natural in other areas of our lives too. New make up, hair style, more colour in our wardrobes and more compliments and WHO doesn't like the rise in personal self-esteem?
so true and well said
@@alegriart sometimes “new makeup” can be more natural products, more natural application, less, who knows... it can mean anything.
I will never dye my hair again.
btw...15years cancer free.🎉🎈
Congrats on your recovery 🌹👏🏾
@@autumnsmom1117 Thank you very much Hunnie 💞
@@michellebonneau413 You're welcome 🌺
Do not dye your hair again, chemicals on dye are cancerous and causes auto immune diseases.
@@michellebonneau413 Meant to say, After 30 plus yrs, I stopped coloring mine. Started coloring my dusty brown hair at 18-52. After brackage, I cut it and said, "if it grew back, I'd take care of it better." Many are complimenting me on it.
I've been a silver fox for about 10 yrs. Never regret a moment. I look and feel 100%BETTER for it.
Two years later, my silver hair is down to my bottom~~~~~~keep growing!

Wish you luck k. I am on my 7th month of no and loving it
@Sharon Kutz Thank you.
Tha ks then there is hope. I have very curly hair. You give me hope.
Thank you!
Thank you! I'm finally excited to own it and let the grey happen proudly!!
It's how you perceive yourself. I don't think I look any older with my wavey silver hair. It sparkles around my face.
Wow, your bangs are amazing. Entire hairstyle is great. Thanks for the inspiration!
When I learned that I was going to be a granny I decided to get rid of the hair dye for GOOD!! Cut it off, it has since grown long & I ❤❤❤ my silver hair!
I’m envious. At 63 my naturally greying hair will never be silver. How beautiful it looks. Thanks for embracing the aging hair process.
My hair is silverish blonde....completely natural. It is past my bra strap. Many compliments! FREEDOM!
I think the KEY word for me here is FREEDOM - absolutely true - my calendar is freed up, my hard earned cash is no longer in bondage to my roots! Women need to surround themselves with positive people and wear their silver crowns with confidence!
Never dyed my hair, never wanna try it. I’m happy with my haircolor :D
Love it.
I am finishing my total transition. Love it. .
All the reasons mentioned. T U SWEET one for sharing this to me
Love the video!
I am loving my beautiful silver hair.
that's excellent!!!
Awesome!
Some people look great in gray. I just can't do it!
Congratulations Michelle on your recovery sending much love to you xxx🌹🌹🌹
Thank you so much Dawn Archer 💞💞💞 Sending lots of love back to you xoxoxo
Letting my hair grow out, was the best thing I ever did. My hair was dyed bright red. So bright red, with grey roots. I loved growing out, watching the grey grow longer and longer, and the red shorter and shorter, till eventually the last cut and I was all grey. I love my hair, people think I've had it coloured, or streaked. It's been five years now. So well before it was trendy to have grey hair. So, my advice is just grow it out. You'll love it. :-)
Nice to know. Have red hair and in my 7th month of dye free.
I've got salt and pepper (mostly salt) and I quit coloring it about 10 years ago. About 2 years ago I started taking biotin supplements, and my hair is now down to my waist. My nails got stronger, too.
that's wonderful!
That's awesome!! We have a support group on Facebook if you're interested 😊
@@silverfoxy3527 awww..thank you, have a wonderful Christmas lovely lady 🎄
It's crazy how women are told how to wear our hair(length, color), what to wear at what age, who to date, etc. My new motto is to do the things that bring me joy as long as I don't hurt myself or others. I am learning that what others think of me doesn't matter. I cared for way too long. Approaching 50 has made me take a look at my own judgments and try to let them go. It's a process.
100% agree especially 1 and 2. Funny is that people say i look glowing and that they love my hair cut! Same cut! Haha.
Your pictures of transition are beautiful! Love this video, easy to go into the negative, but the positives outweigh all that. Stay Foxy indeed!
Having made the transition, I can confirm that every word of this video is true! If you haven't already- go for it!
Love not dying my hair anymore...I always dreaded that...FREEDOM!

I am so glad I stopped dyeing my hair! It took a couple of months to get used to the new look but it's been five months now, and I think I look younger and more vibrant with my white and gray streaks than I did before. No regrets!

Your hair is dying?
Your hair is so beautiful. I’m only 35 but I have as much gray hair as my mom. My dad has had gray hair for as little by as I can remember and I take after him. I think in the next 10 years I’ll be all gray. I decided it stop coloring my hair now since I have a problem with natural red highlights so my hair turns purple with most dyes. These videos are very inspiring!
I stopped dying my hair 3 years ago, and I have beautiful natural grey strikes in my hair, and I am very happy with it!
I'm glad I saw your video, I'm 61 and still color my hair a soft black. My sister tells me not to color it anymore cause my hair is a very pretty silver, not gray. I think I'll stop coloring my hair and see what happens. Thanks.
You look so much younger and more gorgeous with silver hair than dyed hair.
Mines coming through and its gunna be gorgeous sparkly silver :)
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment! 😀😀 I am looking forward to seeing how your silver progresses!
All true. I found it hard to go through the transition period (bought myself 3 wigs ha!) But the end result was worth it.
I'm happy for those that look good with greys. I'm 40 and not ready to go all platinum.
Hi Kat. Love you name
@@linbut7241 Im the same
really? mine gets more coarse! then when i dye it feels so much better lol
Love my silver hair, I get compliments almost every day. I've helped to convince many to quit dying they're hair. Enjoy the Freedom.
I stopped coloring my hair a few years ago what a great. Decision I WONT GO BACK TO DYE
Growing out my silver hair at age 61 was the bravest thing I've ever done. I knew it would look good because my Mom has the same color and she looks great. I don't miss the harsh chemicals penetrating my hair shafts into my brain. The smell is dangerous. I invest in a good haircut, makeup, and eyeglass frames.
.Happy
I don't dye my hair anymore. A friend of mine had dyed her hair so much she was going bald. It's been 5 years since I have dyed my hair. I am 70 years old and my hair is so healthy and turning a blonde white color. I had natural red hair.❤😊
One of my best decisions ! No more dying my hair!!
The only thing I noticed is my hair is much thinner. Dye plumped it up to give the appearance of thicker hair.
Same here.
Absolutely true your hair doesn't have the body at the root it needs. It becomes very silky and very soft. I tried it for 4 months not for me.
I love all the colors, including gray.
I went grey after I had Chemo .My hair loss was shocking but grew back silver/grey and very curly. No more dyeing for me .It is very strong and thick.
@ruth hawkins I stopped dying my hair and hope that I get my natural wavy hair back and also the thickness that hair use to be.
I love reading how many have ditched the dried treatments maybe if we have enough we can put them out of business
I color and will eventually stop but have no problems coloring...my hair is soft and full at 65! Bless you all 👍 💗
I needed to come upon this video today!
Iv just done the same shaved off my bottled black now I'm going to embrace the gray
Iam letting grow out it's been 3 months and I can't wait to have all white
@Tammy Rocco I have thought about shaving my head and letting my grey roots grow out. Another option is to wear a wig until grey hair grows in.
I stopped dying my hair 3 years ago and love my salt and pepper look. FREEDOM!
Finally decided to let my hair go silver. I have been coloring my hair since i began going grey at age 26.
You always FEEL young when you smile, too (when it's sincere)!

I stopped dying my hair two years ago. I have had many compliments and someone even asked to take a picture of my hair! She said she wanted her hair to look like mine!
Yes to all of it! So thrilled to have ditched the dye.

Many folks have gone to hospitals with life threatening chemical reactions . the (Price of vanity is NOT worth your life,or your health .) I found love-friendship when I let it go grey after years of loneliness with colored hair
I went natural and enjoy the time and money saved. I’ll pamper myself another way. 😀
My friends have told me that I should never dye my hair. I started going grey in my late 30's. I think people should let their go gray. It looks better
IVOR WM if you are a man, yes, it looks good!
I’ve not dyed my hair in 2 years now I don’t think I ever will again I’ve had so many different hair colours and I’m just done with it
I went gray about 9 years ago and I get more compliments then ever. I always think they are referring my cut but nope it’s my color. I always say that God is my colorist! 😉
He is! : )
The chemicals were really starting to burn my scalp and turn it red. I'm transitioning now. Can't wait till it's over. Hair seems to be getting thicker too.
Hi RetroGal, that's terrible you suffered through chemical burns. However, it's great that you stopped and awesome that you're here 😁
@Anne Brunner My husband touches my roots up and he's always saying how strong chemical smell is.
Loving it!
Love that silver fox hat wondering where you got that ? Nice video
Hi Stephenie! The hats are located here: www.veronicapiano88.com/sf-beanies
My natural hair colour is not grey but something like brownish pale gray/ecru (because I am dark blonde not black hair! ) so my "grey" hair looks not silver but more like dirty wool 😕
So I prefer stay blonde with dyeing 😄
