Bigger dogs - home guardian. Smaller dogs - hog hunting. This has been the theme across Georgia, Alabama etc. Love the video. Thank You.

It is written, that John D. Johnson traveled the Southeastern region of the United States acquiring Old Southern Whites and White Englishes for his stock to create the American Pit Bulldog (American Bulldog). Most famous lines of the American Bulldog (Scott, Symmes, Margentina, Painter, etc.) can be traced back to Johnson lines.
It's awesome to hear from a dogman whose family has bred and worked Old White English Bulldogs for generations. I also found it awesome that he was so deep in the woods and swamps bulldogging that he had never even heard of Scott or Johnson.
    Great Interview!!

All of that about the bone plates and growth is bang on what ever breed you got always check at what age the bone plates fix and then you can build you dog but always keep pups light until then and give them basic food i breed American Bulldogs for years their stunning to work with but don't rush to make any bull breed big

Great job iv got 25 years in with game pits an now it's all focused on performance Ambulls now an I follow you an appreciate your willingness to learn an knowledge of extreme Bulldogs an Mastiff breeds... like to see u work with more Ambulls think u would be very satisfied.. but anyways wanted to tell you about a interview with mr Johnson in 1997 which is posted on a breeders website maybe grand future kennels he mite definitely exaggerate some stories but with 60 plus years with these dogs living an hunting on Georgia farm..even if half is true of his dogs its falsely advertised that johnson dogs cant compete with any working dogs today it's just not true his dogs which he stated were big an big as long as he can remember meaning probably 80 lbs plus were fighters an extreme workers which he mentions were condition back then an had basically a 2 1/2 inch muzzle average these show Johnson breeders today hav ruined those bloodlines ..whith 2 inch an shorter muzzles an shorter wider an purely show dogs.. a tight old johnson bloodline especially mixed with more standard working blood Bulldogs can make an incredible beast.. which I can attest first hand in any competition but I do agree sticking in around 90 to 110 lbs with the American bulldog will keep u with the best large working dog out there if his bloodlines still hav some of that gamness in them .. peace till next post

Had a Florida transplant up here in Illinois back in 84 his house dog was a brindle about 50 lb female pitbull I complimented him on his Pitbull he said man that ain't no Pitbull them little bitty yappers that's a brindle bull we use them for hog hunting down in Florida what's everybody think of that a brindle bull.I didn't bother to tell him that not all pit bulls are little trappers. Great Channel sir looking forward to every video

I like a 80-100lb dog for a all around farm dog and man dog myself . But I’m not going through the GA swamps and I have a lot of stray dogs , coyotes and man . A bigger dog doesn’t have to fight as often and when they do there better able to handle those things .

Very generic term (pit bull )
It seems there is so many bulldogs ,
    Antebellum bulldog, southern white
    Painter,Scott,etc,etc it's hard to tell
Which is which then you have crosses,, Don't get me wrong I love the American bulldogs,Love them
    Valley bulldogs, Victorian's,dorsett,
To many to name,Smaller dogs are more athletic, and trust me a strong 60-70 pound bulldog is plenty strong
I believe a 60-70 pound dog is more than capable of taking down a full grown man

You can feed your dogs whatever you want .everyone as a different way .feeding straight chicken ain't so different from someone that feeds straight dry food .
