Porsche 911 engines have always had dry-sump lubrication systems but the 928, 944, 924, 968, 951, 996, Carreras & Boxster have some sort of integrated dry sump system, though, not true dry sump.
Was so keen to get a gr86 but being put with rtv issues plus the fact that they advertise there supposed to be tracked then were seeing engines blowing on track and toyota not covering warranty. I'm based in Australia can anyone more knowledgable that myself please tell me about their experience or thoughts. I've got my allocation order but these issues are stopping me from pulling the trigger.
@@jonathanwrx7805 nah, Subaru can solve all those issues (although the tolerances one isn't actually an issue), which they do in their race spec motors (cooling, oiling, etc). Like they did with the EJ20 in the GT300 BRZ. The difference is the consumer spec BRZ is a 30k car. Porsche sell for like 150-200k on the other-hand. So if you want dry sumps and other things from factory (which is only required for high G track work), like what Porsche have and the GT300 BRZ have, you aren't going to get that in a 30k car. Maybe one day if we're lucky we will see a bonkers edition BRZ, like a BRZ Spec C or something, but built for track. But likely not. No one will buy them, The only time Subaru would ever do anything like that would be if it's required for homologation purposes or something. Prodrive did, however, used to sell all those Group N prepped Subaru rally cars. So that is actually the likeliest possibility (some third party doing it)
The biggest problem I had with this car is the differential, the OEM Torsen unit is just so bad and dangerous especially when upgrading tires/suspension, fortunately aftermarket clutch pack LSD are available.

As a diehard 86 fan and a very proud owner of a GR86, thank you for this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good info but the voice-over is unbearable
i actually like it
It's both whispering and yelling.
One of the best video about 86/BRZ, Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I dont like the text to speach but the rest of the video is good
Earned a sub.+like! Thank you!
Damn what a vid.. gave me so much info on the cars and the RTV issues. You deserve a lot more subs ❤
This was a great video, i thought this channel would have at least a 100k subs, cant believe only 200. Keep making great videos :)

Then how Porsche are reliable at track? They doesnt have those oil starvation problems

The Toyota Dealerships are the ones that pushback the most on backing up warranties. Corporate Toyota will generally do more to resolve the issue.
Great video I gust hate ai voice
I don't believe subaru when they say that excess rtv doesn't cause oil starvation and neither when they say they have no reported issues.
love it. Keep the hustle
Toyota need to take off that box engine and put the GR 3 liter engine on the GR 86 rear wheel. Make it back a real Toyota legend car.
That first “Celica” video is actually an Acura Integra
@1:57 its Tetsuya TADA not Tata. Tata is completely different 🤪
Tata is my aunt
