What a killer version of this song! It's always been one of my favorites, but the string ensemble, in Austin TX for God's sake, simply legitimizes and enhances it's current relevance. David Byrne nailed it for the ages!!

It's nice to see a more casual, relaxed David Byrne but I still love the frenetic David in "Stop Making Sense", during this song he runs all over the stage
Personally I loved the energy and passion in Stop Making Sense, especially here. This isn't a laid back song.
The Stop Making Sense version is literally one of the greatest performances ever recorded of anything. Ever.
This 1979 song's lyrics make more sense in 2020 than they did then. Sure wish it didn't.

Ehhhh.. folks forget.. the 70s were way more politically violent. The u.s. had all kinds of groups, like the weathermen, sla..etc.. doing bombings, assassinations.. high end bank robberies to support their causes.. derailing trains. Shit was really really crazy

The next song in the set is I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston from 1987. He would've been about 37 when that was released, so what am I missing?

I love the orchestral treatment, but it doesn't top Stop Making Sense.
I wish David Byrne would just lay it down at this point wrt Talking Heads... or engage with his more fringy projects. The marching band thing was really interesting. It was a great band and their documented performances of this tune were much better....apologies to the performers on this post...just doing your job and I've been there; probably paid minimum including almost no rehearsal hours. David Byrne/poroducers should not have put you in that position.

Yes it feels very uncomfortable to me . But for the rest a great performance.
Probably my favorite song from Stop Making Sense, but this is a great version -- just lacking the carnal energy that version has.

Bad sound. Drummer is fiddeling with the bass drum and the bass is not loud enough. Bad sound of the snare drum too.
Rhythm section too loud.

Sounds pretty bad. Strings can't take the place of keyboards. But keyboards can take the place of strings.
