      Thank you! Indeed the build is super nice, but the warranty also works fine within the warranty period. I had the need to service a few devices, and it is usually just a combination of sending the product to warranty, and getting back a new one after a few days. The warranty period is not very long, that could be improved for sure

    Would it be possible to connect it to a power amplifier, which is connected to 2 speakers? So to use the S9C basically as a pre-amp? And does it have independant volumer per Input? So it would have it set at 40 for the headphone and 60 for the balanced out at the back?

    • @AudiophileHeaven
      @AudiophileHeaven  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hii, it is possible to use it as a PRE for a Power Amplifier, but I don't think you can set individual volume levels for each input and output, so best to take it low before changing inputs and outputs.

    George, quick q. This model vs the JDS Labs Element III MK2 Boosted. Main usage case would be single ended full size headphones and a planar magnetic iem. Thanks!

    • @AudiophileHeaven
      @AudiophileHeaven  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, S9C sounds really really nice, but Element III M2 B has some EQ you can engage, and some complex filtering settings. Since S9c pro sounds quite a bit better over the balanced output, I would go with Element III if you will mainly be using SE headphones

    Hi, I would like to ask you for a technical opinion, the original balanced cable for a Sennheiser HD 490 Pro arrived today and using it with the Aune S9C Pro I thought I would have to set the DAC volume much lower than the SE output, but the difference is very little (first 58 and now 49) is this normal? Shouldn't the balanced output be much more powerful?

    • @AudiophileHeaven
      @AudiophileHeaven  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The difference sounds about right. The difference in volume is not everything, balanced provides a better quality. Depending on the volume, it is not fully linear, so there's the chance that it has a different curve to the volume amplitude, altough I usually do not test for this, as my ears wouldn't be the best instruments to test it

    how long is the cable of the USB and power cable?

    • @AudiophileHeaven
      @AudiophileHeaven  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't quite understand the question, but the length and quality of the USB cable matters a lot. Max length for the power cable is 6 meters, for USB it is 2 meters. Beyond 2 meters, the USB cable introduces noise usually, 3 can still be ok if the cable is of a good quality, but beyond that I would not go

    I am stuck between the Aune S9Cpro and this Fiio K9 AKM as an upgrade from my K7. I listen to mostly Metal and it is not always well produced, especially the older stuff. I cannot listen to the Aune here in Australia, the closest store is 1000km away.
    Do you think Aune could be too revealing and not leave me enough "meat" on the bone for metal music? Is the K9 AKM maybe a little bit richer for crunchy riffs etc?
    Bottom end heft and impact on double kick drums in metal is paramount to me but of course I would like a clean non fatiguing sweet top end with a wide stage.
    Regards from Australia.

    • @AudiophileHeaven
      @AudiophileHeaven  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Given your taste and concerns, Aune S9c PRO would be better, its a bit warmer, a bit wider and less crunchy, I think FiiO K9 would be a bit harsh and S9C PRO would be a good upgrade from K7

      It has a more powerful bass. Dynamics are a bit harder to explain, but basically, when there is a high dynamic range, a lot of difference between the quiet sounds and the loud ones, S9C PRO reprouces that better, while K9 PRO ESS flattens things, brings everything to the same level more

    Thanks very much for the S9c Pro DAC review. I saw a few weeks ago Aune released a new range and have been looking for reviews.
    Just wondering if you might also review the S17 Pro AMP?
    I have Sennheiser HD800S, which are currently being drived off a Chord Mojo. I'm looking at upgrading to a separate DAC/ AMP and have been told Tube amps would work better for the HD800S than Solid State. I'm looking at the Woo Audio WA6-SE, but still open to other possibilities. The S17 Pro AMP states "twin JFET tube-like sound", but want to see a few reviews before believing the Marketing.

      I will be reviewing the S17 PRO as well, currently waiting for it to arrive. I would generally not get a WooAudio AMP as they have a less detailed soud in general than the competition has for the price, but if you had a chance to hear it in person and liked it, then there's no reason to avoid it.

I know that many devices in this price range that are designed balanced usually sound better via the balanced output. I am looking for a dac/amp to pair hi-x60 with and wonder if s9c pro is a good option or should I look for a dedicated single-ended devices like jds labs element 3 mk2 (or el 2+ stack) or chord mojo 2 (strictly for sound quality, portability is not important for me)?

Altough it is designed to sound better from the Balanced output, I do not think that there is any inherent disadvantage to using it on SE, it still sounds better than most of the competition. It is also the priciest of this list...

    Do you think that a DDC can improve the already good soundstage and imaging for competitive gaming? Does the DDC adds latency?

      @AudiophileHeaven  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hii, a DDC should not improve the situation here very much, you're better off getting better headphones and better speakers / better amplifier

      @@AudiophileHeavenwhat about the Aune SC1 clock? Does it improve some sound area? Also does it add delay? Since you are adding one equipment to the chain

    No standby feature or power on/off switch in the front, no auto-on on signal detected ... This device would be real pain to use on daily basis. In order to make it user friendly, owner needs to drill hole in the front panel and put on/off switch and wire it to the power supply thus voiding warranty.... I will wait for an updated version if it ever comes.

      But it has a remote which avoids having to deal with anything else in between. It also does not consume very much while it is idling, especially compared to other devices...

      @@AudiophileHeaven Remote is fine but has no power off functionality. Power consumption is not my concern, but always on display is. And why should it be active when not in use? Auto power-off would omit this problem. I'm still considering this device but I'm planning to drill a hole in front panel and set switch there. To be honest, for the money it costs, it is not well rounded product.

      Oh yes, most companies use a really similar remote between products. Except for SMSL, who have two the same looking remotes, but with a different code, and the don't work across products
