Of course Rick says he could kick Tanks @$$ and Tank says he can kick Ricks @$$, both are old men now and just thankful they can both get up out of bed in the morning an continue to walk upright without much pain.
IMO - That was a work. If you watch it closely - as Steiner walks up Tank slips his false teeth out of his mouth. I’m guessing bc he knew Steiner was suppose to swing on him. I think Rick did sorta clip tank a little more than tank was expecting. But if you watch it there was a lot of forearm contact rather than fist contact.
Lots of people wrestled. There is a lot more to a fight than that. You have no clue of what other abilities he has to be guess on his success or ability as a fighter. Stop the nonsense! There are 78 D1 college programs with about 30 wrestlers per team. That’s over 2200 wrestlers in D1. That’s 6600 active and former D1 wrestlers between 18-30 years old. They all beating UFC fighters too? Also Tank wrestled in college and was actively training with world champs and Olympians during his fight career while Rich likely hadn’t wrestled or trained in it in over a decade at that point. Then add to that it’s easier to stop a takedown tha it is to get one. Which means rich would likely be stuck standing and get his teeth knocked out inside 30 seconds.

You cannot be a UFC fighter, and not be a a "tough guy." But, in my opinion, i believe that Rick Steiner would have gotten the better of Tank Abbott in a shoot. Rick had a better ground game, and was the stronger of the 2, and in better fighting shape... in my opinion. However, with that being said, a fight of this magnitude probably wouldnt last very long (as most "Real" fights don't) and Tank did have a legitimate knockout punch, and if he catches you with it... it's curtains. So, it always certainly comes down to this: Can your Jaw take a punch by a UFC style fighter? It would be quick fight... either way. My money's on Rick Steiner.
Tank did have dynamite in his hands but only for about 30-45 seconds. I think Steiner could take him down easily and has the stamina advantage. Tank didnt have great sprawl or uppercut to defend. I would say Steiner had a real good chance at winning
