I like your points, really simple and relevant, helps me to get back motivated to declutter more and start again. I remember my past, I wanted to move and it was car full, the 2, then 3,4,5... And I kept it all. But now years go by and I try to let go! Your points list for others. Minimalizmus helps: 1. Reduce mental baggage - energy from things, emotions attached to things 2. Save time - searching for stuff, you know where everything is, cleaner place, less cleaning, laundry is done faster 3. Development intentional habits - learning to decide what you need, not to give things that create clutter, don't accept hand me downs, everything has its place and purpose 4. Declutter social life, work space, digital space 5. Minimalizmus can transform your life - physically and externally more space in life, I'm way more grateful, you see what's around you easily. Yes, it takes time, 33 years of hoarding, now 5 years plus on the journey, good luck to you all.
People truly dont realize that once you get rid of something you weren't using in the first place you almost automatically forget about it. If you keep it, you have to think about it. Why think about keeping something that isnt even bringing value to your life?? I'm glad you mentioned this point because most people dont realize this fact until you've actually gone thru the process of getting rid of items that were useless in your life. It's an indescribably freeing feeling.
Yes! Absolutely a freeing feeling! I've decluttered things one too many times at this point (although I still have more to go through... lol) but I honestly never regret getting rid of them or I just simply forget about them! Less clutter for the mind! :)
Totally! I’ve got plenty of stories I’ll eventually share about stuff and their energy. The fact that things make you think of people and situations can be a good or bad thing!
The way you explained about things having energy. Wow!!! I have not heard it like this before Your video was perfect for me just what I needed to hear. The way you explained everything is really helpful and motivating. Thank you for sharing.
I have began clearing out so much...it is such a relief. ❤️ I'm going to have to take a picture of my kids art work and keep only about three pieces a year. I can do this. 🙏
That is such a great idea! I need to do something like that with my box of photo prints. Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching! And good luck with your journey! 💪
Watching this ,where you said family held on to stuff as you were growing up, I realized that my mom never had stuff in garage or attic. Stuff was just gone, be that toys we stopped playing with or clothes. She usually helps me declutter. She doesn't get why I have so much or where that habit came from haha. I think for me the hoarding was due to growing up and not having much. As an adult I went crazy! I am moving next month and it's going to be an ordeal to declutter but I can't keep moving this from one garage to another. I haven't been buying a lot of stuff the last three years, but the old stuff is still there. I need to not hold onto items because I've had them for so long and attached to it.
Thank you for watching my video! Yes, hoarding can come from not having much, so I totally understand where you're coming from! But moving is always a great opportunity to declutter! Just focus on what is important to you now, in the present moment! :)
On point.. I use to he a hoarder too and I am literally a shopaholic before. And now I am trying to be a minimalist but the huge sale sometimes are hard to resist but I am trying to be strong. 😄 Good luck on your channel ❤❤❤
Great advice, Joan! I lean minimalist and can relate to everything you said. Another thing about stuff: it requires maintenance, which equals time and money!
Definitely for me the sentimentality factor is a big reason why I still sometimes hoard more than I used to. For example my late grandma gave me a bathroom rug of all things which is now very ratty, yet I can’t bear to part with it (much to my partner’s chagrin!)
Seriously! I still have about 3 boxes to sort through and one of them is ALL sentimental things. There’s a lot of guilt that we feel as to why we hoard things!
I remember as a child the first time I got invited into a Hmong home and just standing in the door way. I seen how bare it was and I took mental notes 🙂 that reminds me it's been about two weeks since I last did some spring cleaning I'm due for another round 😅
Great question! That can be tricky because as we know “people don’t change unless they want to.” I was at the point of my life where I was willing to change myself when I realized I was a hoarder, plus my husband was a minimalist already, so that helped. I’ve encouraged my parents to declutter but they don’t have the drive to do so. I would physically have to help them myself. However, they are open to it! It takes patience and also the willingness of the person to change their ways! So for you, keep dropping seeds and maybe they’ll figure it out for themselves someday!

Thank you for the summary, this is great! And yes it takes time, I still have things to declutter. But good luck to you! You can do it!
Thanks for helpful information. 🥰

It’s crazy how much energy is attached to things, like you said…. It feels so good to get rid of stuff…

"Learning not to give people things that might clutter their life"...best advice I have heard for the day 👏👏👏 Thank you!
Glad you got something out of it! This is the story of my life growing up with a big family... lol.
@@JoanQuinto definitely did, thank you for sharing 👍 God bless.

Thank you so much for watching! Still learning a lot and decluttering!

Hi Lizz! Thank you so much for watching! And stay strong, you can do it! 😉💪
I'm reaching here for the topic. I'm still decluttering and getting rid of all this energy🌟
It can be a long and grueling process! I think I have maybe 3 small boxes left of sentimental things to let go of. Takes time!
Thank you for tour insight. I’ve tried decluttering a few years ago, and chamge my habits but I’ve failed. Now I’m trying again 🤞🏻
Don’t give up!
This is a really good one too. 👍
Thanks! This video was what helped me grow my channel! Didn’t realize I was a minimalist! Lol

Thank you so much Philip! Yes definitely agree, “stuff” takes so much away from us than we realize!
Great video. I’m so glad I found your site.
Thank you for watching! 😊 More to come on this topic 😎

Nice! I try to do it between seasons, seems to be a good time as we "transition," symbolically. 🙂
Loved this video! I am now subscribed to your channel! 😍
Thank you so much! And welcome to my channel! :)

Is it possible to help someone you know to change their hoarding habits or are I wasting my time

Suggestion: less talking and more showing.
I’ll take note of it, thanks!
