I LOVE Mike Tyson! There's been no other athlete in recent times that had his laser focus on his goal, his work ethic and his complete dedication and determination..... nobody. It's not likely we will witness an athlete of his caliber ever again. Iron Mike is one of a kind.❤️
ALI. He got robbed by the govt for 3 years and came back and took the championship back two more times! Never got distracted by bad easy women, or gold digger women, drugs, gambling, partying or any of that usual stuff that temps most men of all walks of life. But I think the fact the gov't ripped his best 3 years off, made him stay too long and he got beat by guys he could have KO years earlier. But I like Tyson a lot too.. I feel sad he went with the bad folks, Don KIng and the cheap women that messed him up. He lost his focus at too young of an age.. He could have lasted 5-10 more years if he wanted..
Do you mean not see a boxer, or any athlete at all, with this much dedication and determination? You may be right when it comes to the heavyweights, but there is a good amount of the smaller guys in light weight classes that are as dedicated and determined. The heavyweights are in a bad slump for a long time now, but not the lighter classes.
@@michaelcraig9449 They took away from him the sense and need to fight, willingness, motivation, determination and interest, that is, the heart to fight. Unfortunately, Mike was in a bad environment as a young, inexperienced, unknown man, he was an easy morsel, a victim of fraud, thieves who took away his faith and will. So much work, effort, effort on the part of Cus D'Amato and Mike himself was hard to make up for and recover. Someone was very interested and involved in destroying, ruining and sinking Mike internally, from within. Tyson in the 80,s was the most powerful puncher and just best fighter ever EVER at that time. The baddest man on the planet… you don’t get called that for nothing..
Bro they had him punch a machine to see how much power he had you know Mike hit the machine and the machine couldn't be used no more because when iron Mike hit it he broke it no boxer has broke one of those machines people had to pure fool's to step in the Ring with him
Tyson was awesome. I feel sad that he got tempted away from Kevin Rooneys training and went into the city and got messed up by the bad crowd. He could have lasted 5-10 more years if he wanted to, if he stayed clean and focused. Bad women messed up his head too. It is very hard to come back from a woman that gets in your head and betrays you. This is true for any man.
I use to watch boxing with my gran when I was young and I loved it and then Mr Mike Tyson hit the ring and wow, sorry to guys that hate him but I loved watching him.
Another great thing about Tyson he could stop guys with either hand punches, and with punches to the body, too. And he did not just throw one punch at a time, like a lot of the heavyweights do, and depend on one punch KO's, he always KO with combinations. A lot of the heavyweights have long slow jabs with the left, and never throw combos, and always just depend on a right hand punch for the KO. That is boring, and sometimes can be defended against. But Tyson would work his way in, and throw fast combos, not just jabs, and either hand punch could KO a guy. That is a rare ability in heavyweight division.
Tyson was such an awesome athlete in the ring. Tyson had speed as well as brutal instinct. Tyson since Muhammad Ali made the heavyweight championship so exciting.
I would be afraid to even get hit with one of Tyson’s little setup (jib jab) punches. No contact needed, just the visual of him setting up would knock me out.🤣💥🤛
What a paradox though in the back half of his career. He'd knock guys out, then help them up making sure they're okay. Still the baddest man on the planet.
I wish someone knew how to harness Tysons fury and rage and taught him how to put it all into training. As he got older and more popular his ego got outta control too. I wish he remained humble and like I said, poured all his anger into training. He would've been like 100-0 with 85 kos. I'm happy with the man he's become, the guys awesome, but he still holds that rage and anger in. He needs an outlet for it all.
He's humbled a lot, lately. He accepted that he deserved none of the praise he was getting, and that all glory was to God. Is there a reason you think he still holds anger and rage? Has it not been erased completely?
His mentor, father figure, coach cus died too early into his career. You can see where it starts to go down hill. Great talent but went down the wrong path outside the ring hence his downfall. Sad to see really
I love the back story behind the Buster Douglas fight. They said Tyson really didn't train hard, he was partying a lot in Japan prior to the fight and just took the fight lightly. Little did he know that Buster mom died prior to the fight and that was all the motivation Buster needed to put the beat down on Mike.
Buster did an awsome job of keeping Mike under some control. Although when Mike knocked him down the reff did a really slow count. But when Mike went down it was a faster count.
The first right hand that put Holmes down is one of my favourite all time rights. Tyson could hit you on the head and knock you cold.He did it with a few, Tillman,Holmes Berbeck and Tubbs just off the top of my head, lol. He was a force of nature! The public had seen nothing like him before and it's doubtful they ever will again. He was "Bred" for the hurt business.I feel amazingly lucky to have lived through his era.👍💤💤💤🤪🤪

People state that “for X Millions over 2 or 3 rounds I’d fight Mike as well” but what they miss is that if Tyson caught them in the head they would probably be spending their millions on palliative care.
I've watched boxing for over 40 years, and for me at his best he was one of the most dangerous heavyweights I've ever seen. I'm not sure who I'd be certain to beat him at his best from any era. If I could have any fight I'd pay anything to see it would be Mike Vs Ali with both at their very best. Maybe Rocky vs him as a second pick.

Mike was burned out fast by greedy people around him … no consideration for Mike or pacing him … then the destructive lifestyle that drains all of us … Mike was a competitive fighter at 11 or perhaps earlier… Cus merely took him where he could get paid real money 💰 as a professional for it … finally, like Mike admits , who can stop anyone determined to race down the path of demolition? I wasn’t shit and I swore I was gonna do it all and not now- right now !!! Love you Mike!

For such a powerful fighter, he had great stamina and crazy speed.

Mad respect to all these guys who agreed to step in the ring with Tyson.

Every Mike...TYSON, JORDAN, JACKSON, they gave the world ACTION!!
PHELPS, JOHNSON...
Unbelievable these days a 19 year old fighter with such power. Epic

People don't realize Tyson was young hungry and full of rage
The awesome Mike Tyson. A primeval force of nature . I was lucky to see him in his pomp. Before he went to prison. 1985-1991.🥊
I use to watch boxing with my gran when I was young and I loved it and then Mr Mike Tyson hit the ring and wow, sorry to guys that hate him but I loved watching him.
Mike Tysons punch out NES game also showed how dangerous he was.

Douglas
Holyfield twice
