    Thanks for this how-to. I succeeded in replacing both passenger side blend door actuators today - but you do need a LOT of patience! One fixing screw for each actuator is out of sight at the back of the actuator and I needed a mirror and a lot of fiddling to get to them

    Okay I have a 2014 Dodge Charger & when I turn the heat on it only warms up on the passenger side & blows cold on the driver side. ( WHICH Actuator would I replace? ) driver or passenger?

    • @jaredstaggs
      @jaredstaggs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would guess the driver side. Passenger side is doing what it's told to do.

    How exactly do you know which side actuator has failed? I adjusted the temperature to the highest heat setting in my vehicle. He was blowing out of the driver side, but cold air was blowing from the passenger side. So basically the wrong temperature was blowing out of the passenger side. Should I replace the passenger side actuator?

    • @jaredstaggs
      @jaredstaggs  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Process of elimination. If the passenger side is not operating correctly then I would start at that side. Once you have that side open for inspection, I would then try and mess with your ac settings and see if things change.

    I think my actuator needs to be replaced because it makes a clicking noise for 30 seconds everytime I start my car up and then it goes away until the next time I turn it on. But it sounds like it’s coming from underneath the dashboard on the driver side

    I’ve replaced this passenger one 2 times and it keeps breaking after a week or so? I make sure it’s lined up and I make sure it set right before mounting back in ? Any idea why it stays breaking ? I’ve checked fuses and wires all are good ? It’s like it’s keeps turning to the point it breaks the little plastic gears in side ? Any help would be appreciated .

    • @jaredstaggs
      @jaredstaggs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No idea why it would keep breaking unless it is being installed improperly or it's just a bad quality part. Before you replace it with another one, I'd make sure there isn't a deeper issue within the vehicle.

    This recently happened to mine are they on both sides or just passenger side? Another question my driver side ac blows hot air out sometimes when I put the cold ac on

    • @jaredstaggs
      @jaredstaggs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      andrew carrillo I think it's all on the passenger side. Not 100% sure on that.
      I had kind of the same issue with the hot air on one side (really weird) but it turned out to be a very slow leak in the AC system. If you can see the actuators move all the way in both directions, then I'd start looking somewhere else

    I have a 2006 Dodge Charger. changed the thermostat and my heat still blows cold. I don’t hear a clicking noise but could it still be my blend door?

    • @jaredstaggs

      If you can visually see your blend doors move when you try to change from hot to cold, then no.

    • @jaredstaggs
      @jaredstaggs  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scottarant5741 my best guess would be that it is one of the blend doors. Either that, or somehow the Uconnect software wasn't allowing the other side of the car to do what you're telling it to.

    • @Salfrado
      @Salfrado 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jaredstaggs what does the difference in air speed mean? my driver's side blows cold when heat is maxed and my passenger side blows hot. the drivers side, regardless of ac/no ac and any temp, seems like the vents are closed and barely any air comes out but the vents are definitely open.

    • @jaredstaggs
      @jaredstaggs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tina Ross the actuator should be on the left side of the blower fan. You can see it at 3:06 of the video. If you can't locate it, you can always turn the car to "on" and on your screen, mess around with the temp settings for both sides and then you can just look at which parts are moving to find the right one.

    • @tinaross4260
      @tinaross4260 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i'm not very smart lol i'm told replacing the door could be the fix or that it needs more freon any suggestions

    • @jaredstaggs
      @jaredstaggs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tina Ross you might try recharging it with refrigerant (R-134A) since that would be the cheapest way. If that doesn't work, then you know it's going to be a more involved fix. If you're not too mechanically inclined, you could always take it to either a dealership or shop that you trust. Dealerships usually charge a flat rate to just diagnose the problem.

    • @jaredstaggs
      @jaredstaggs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrMerk1991 yes. Those actuators shown here are for the blend doors. If yours moves fine then I would look at the actual ac system. Might be a leak somewhere within the lines or even low on refrigerant.
