I was under the impression that Dodos Riding Dinos was already a family style game.

So many cool games coming... I'm going to have to start picking... So far I'm really interested in
*Sovereign: Fall of Wormwood* (already reserved some money for that one because I print and played it and I think it's amazing),
*Sirens: The Deep Sea* (unsure but love the theme and have a feeling it might blow us away) and
*Odalin: Dungeons of Doom* ... (I missed out on Tanares, and this looks like a really cool dungeon crawler and the more I see of it the more it pulls me in).

I think King of Tokyo duel is a bad idea. It’s always be a fun/light group game.

I'm backing less games due to the increase of previews, especially paid previews. Understand they can be beneficial but if you're asking me to back a game a year or more out based solely on previews then I'm probably out until it hits the retail shelves. I'll then decide if the retail version stacks up and deserves my hard earned money.

I don't even get the retail. If the game is good enough it usually gets a second kickstarter reprint of the deluxe version anyways (+expansion). By that point at least we have a lot of real reviews.

Also when they are involved in previews and you ask for a comment or comparison or thoguths, they won't provide any.

I'd rather they stipulate that it is a preview rather than review a prototype with basically demo rules and limited concept.

I don't buy many games nowadays with very limited time. What are some good value for money 2P deckbuilders/roguelites/likes/drafting games? I always loved drafting in Magic and am interested to see if there is anything great with board games both for beginners and advanced/veteran players.
I played divinity original sin BG but it wasn't what I want from a board game. So far I enjoyed galaxy trucker, the flying part is a bit lackluster though. Roll Player is very interesting too, but haven't played much of it yet though. Currently we are playing Dorfromantik, Cascadia and Azul are ok but not as exciting.
Bugs and buttons looks good, but it is solo only. Radlands is also on my wishlist, not sure yet about that

I like Goshu X, you can play on BGA. Solo, I like Skytear. More family friendly is star realms. Haven't tried radlands

I hear what you’re saying about previews, but honestly I’d rather not have opinions on prototype or preproduction games.
A preview really should just be reporting what is known about a campaign, hopefully some context about the designer an publisher. We as consumers should develop our own sense of what’s interesting and/or worth the risk of backing.
With regard to paid previews, we just need to know that they are literal commercials for a product. As a consumer, apply critical thinking as appropriate.

"With regard to paid previews, we just need to know that they are literal commercials for a product."
But DO we all know that? I think a lot of people were surprised by the Quackalope incident last year, in that we had no idea so many channels were getting paid so much to make preview videos.
Personally, I'd always assumed that when a channel was sent a preview copy of a game that THAT was their payment (in addition to the ability to put out their video early enough to get more youtube views than reviewers who had to wait until the game was available in stores/from crowdfunding). I didn't know the channels were also getting hundreds or thousands of dollars from the publisher.
Maybe I'm naive or just didn't think too hard about it... but I know I'm not alone in this.

@@tyrroo That’s a really good point. However, it’s not helpful to call anyone naive, especially when the ethical (and legal? I think.) responsibility falls on the content creator to make those things clear to us. Unfortunately they don’t always do that, or they don’t do it in a way that’s obvious.
It’s probably also not very helpful to comment on a TH-cam video reminding people that they should think critically about messages they get in their preferred content, but here I am.
