  • In this project, Umang aims to explore the potential of BCI technology by designing a system that interprets EEG signals to control external devices in real time. You will get to see how he will be controlling a car racing game by classifying EEG signals into two states: attentive and relaxed.
    The project can be made using either DIY Neuroscience Kit Basic or DIY Neuroscience Kit Pro as both of these kits include BioAmp EXG Pill which is a single channel biopotential amplifier that is used in this project to record EEG signals.

    Hey! This might be a silly question but I looked at the schematic that’s uploaded on your GitHub for muscle bioamp patchy and I can understand that inaIN+ and inaIN- refer to the inputs from the detection electrodes and ampRef the input from the reference electrode. However, at the power supply part ampRef is the output of an amplifier which means it has a set value, how can ampRef be both the electrode input and amplifier output?

    • @UpsideDownLabs
      @UpsideDownLabs  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey, that electrode is actually vcc/2 voltage output that sets a base voltage for the analog circuit and the human body. It's usually called bias electrode or ground for these type of analog circuits and acts similar to how digital ground works for your digital circuits.

    Can we control car in Forward-Backward-Left-Right direction?

    • @UpsideDownLabs
      @UpsideDownLabs  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      yes that can be possible but in that scenario you will have to take a different trigger to control left and right directions.

      @@UpsideDownLabs I am very exited to do Neuroscience projects specially using EEG signals. So i really want to add this feature in the project(Left-Right-Forward-Backward direction). So will you just guide me? So It will be very helpful to me!❤

      It will be better if you start with simple projects, learn along the way and then move towards complex projects.
      Particularly for EEG you can try the following projects one by one:
      1. Recording EEG from prefrontal cortex: www.instructables.com/Recording-EEG-From-Pre-Frontal-Cortex-of-Brain-Usi/
      2. Recording EEG from visual cortex: www.instructables.com/Recording-EEG-From-Visual-Cortex-of-Brain-Using-Bi/
      3. Playing video games using brainwaves: www.instructables.com/Controlling-Video-Game-Using-Brainwaves-EEG/
      Once you are familiar with these projects then you can try to add more features into them.
      Another way would be to start with the biopotential signals that are comparatively easy to deal with like controlling video games using EMG or EOG and then move towards doing projects with EEG.
      Anyway we are coming to Marwadi University for a 1 day workshop as soon as the flood situation gets better. So we can probably meet there as well to have more discussion on it.
      You can ping us by emailing on contact@upsidedownlabs.tech and we will keep in touch.

    HI, I have 5 bioamp exg pill, I need to know how much is the sampling rate of the module "bioamp exg pill" when we talk about EEG and why it varies in terms of EEG, EMG and ECG? PLSSSSSSSSS
    GREETINGS FROM BOLIVIA!!!

    • @UpsideDownLabs
      @UpsideDownLabs  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi,
      The sampling rate depends on the microcontroller development board you are using. For example, the sampling rate for Arduino Uno R3 is 250 by default but it can be changed in the code as well.

      That would not be possible to with DIY Neuroscience Kit. The main aim of this kit is to provide an affordable tool to a user to get them started so that they can explore the field of neuroscience.
      What you are talking about is a "thought to text experiment". For that you need a highly dense multi channel EEG acquisition system and on top of that you need very efficient AI models.
      We recommend you to start with simple projects, learn along the way and then move towards complex projects.
