Host a static website on AWS S3 using Cloud Front Distribution and Route53

Host a static website on AWS S3, cache the content in edge locations via cloudfront, enable encryption in transit via ssl certificate and also connect it to your domain via Route 53.

This was a very patient and detailed description but unfortunately it did not work for me. I am more a hobbyist than an IT person but I certainly appreciate all the work that went into this video. After many attempts my question is this: Has anyone been successful getting this to work? Also has AWS changed significantly in the two years since the video was produced?

Hi Vibhor.
FIrst of all I would like to thank you for your efforts to explain the issue. I followed your directions thoroughly.
I noticed some differences.
I cannot create CNAME records in Route 53.
Of course AWS consoles change by the week. Buttons to add CNAMES records are not available. So I created a csv file of the CNAME records. (There is a button available to create a csv file)
Creating CNAME records manually does not work!!! Because AWS will generate an error respons!
So finally I didn't succeed creating CNAME records.
(I guess these CNAME records are needed to validate the certificate)
Next To validate my certificate I used the email option because DNS validation does not work.
Finally my certificate has been validated and I am able to choose the certificate inside the Cloudfront Distributions.
So at this moment I only have NS, SOA and 2 A Records inside my Hosted Zone.
Can I leave the hosted zone without CNAME Records?
I am using a Hugo static website.
Do I need to take more actions to publish Hugo static sites?
