another nice simple project :) the black out tape was a good easy solution, taking off all those stickers from everywhere on the car and restoring the black trim was quite satisfying the car is not perfect but it will be the perfect car for the new owners
Hello, my name is Levi and I recently got my first car for $800 and its a 2002 Honda Accord that needs some love I was wondering if you'd be able to make a video on it? I know it's a long shot but I'm still a student in college and don't have very much money to work on it myself it needs some love and I'd love to see it in one of your smpl builds! Comment back and we can trade numbers or emails.
Sedan or coupe? I own a coupe that’s been down for a couple weeks now I think I’m only firing on 3 cylinders:,( I’ve had my coils for about a year now but between working a ton and moving a home the coils have just been sitting in the trunk 😭. But the coupe has beautiful body line’s definitely a keeper.
this is just a comment to go out to anyone. dents and glass cleaning are your friend for low end cheap repairs, just takes time. get the panel off/disassembled if needed and just tap it out with something with a small or flat impact until it looks even just a little better. windshield rock chip repairs, get a cheap resin glass repair kit and just put some rainx stuff on it and itll look much better.
I thought the same. Harbor freight dent pulling kit or something. Looked for some junk yard cosmetic parts too: shocked he attempted to sell without fixing the brake line
@ just a regular rubber hammer, wood and tons of patience goes a long ways to make fender dents better, but pullers can strip paint. i’m talking more like the cheapest repair method for the >500 dollar cars
True. Lots of good points but he’s simple builds and will be doing some work on subscribers cars and on this challenge. A couple hundred bucks at HF and he’ll have some decent stuff for channel work
“quick and easy” & “not over complicating this build” sounds like an excuse after seeing some of corners cut for this to be “fixed/flipped”. at least for 2500, this should get a lil more love before it becomes someone else’s headache, just my opinion tho
Not bad for the budget. But if you went to so much trouble for paint prep I would just go with the spray guy and matching paint. Matching paint would’ve cost you 50 bucks and but it would look near perfect. Also you should’ve addressed the breaks at it’s maybe not expensive repair but on the listing when is says it must be towed is a big red flag for a lot of potential customers
The brake line should have been done. The fact that the new driver can't drive it away is going to end up costing you (likely more than the brake line fix).
Brakes and taillight issues are fixed!! The car now runs and drives great and it is ready to be driven away. Video proof updated in FB listing. Lmk if you're interested! First $2,500 takes it :) Thank you
Great work man! Looks just like this Civic that a sales guy I know has, except his is green. He’s had it for years and still gets him great gas mileage.
Normally love your work. This one started rough and the work on it was rough for me. I get you wanted a quick video though and will serve a purpose. I just think with a bit more effort and not a lot more money, it could have been far more presentable
I agree with everything but the tape! and also when you powerwashed it the distributor wasnt covered,,you guys are awesome I just own 2 99 Civics and I am passionate about them,,,,SALUTE!!
Beautiful transformation, also the torch method is amazing idk why people hate on it. Plastic restore alone doesnt work long term on super sun faded stuff like that (ask me how I know)
The tape is a neat trick but I'd honestly have pulled the trim off of the passenger side and put the tape on that side in it's place so both sides matched. Knowing how to weld or knowing a friend that welds could have been a quick fix for that muffler too. Your price point on the finished product isn't too far off from what I've seen in my area. Trouble is finding the $500 sample that is in actually running condition. Most people here are still wanting at least $2 for a non running car and some are asking that much for just a rolling shell (no motor or trans). It seems like you have to have a deal fall into your lap (like this one did for you) or know somebody to get the cars you can actually flip for a profit even if you are doing all the work and cutting corners with parts.
Would have been a good possible swap into a hatch shell. Hatch is worth a lot more. The crv you did was good. Probably the best flip. All the best to you.
Love the videos, but I feel like the costs for the car are unrealistic. $500 for a running civic? It’s virtually impossible to find a similar car in that price range on FB marketplace. Still looking forward to the build and I love your channel.
Absolutely not unrealistic if you know where and how to look! Maybe I'll share that in an upcoming episode. Although this car was from a subscriber, deals like this can definitely be found!
It certainly is unrealistic where I live. People around here are asking as high as 2K for a rolling shell with no motor or transmission in the car at all.
@@SmplBuilds it is definitely unrealistic dude. this is running and driving. not ever happening in this market. getting cars from subscribers for a "challenge" isnt really a challenge.
I liked the channel when you put effort into thevideos. this is just lazy dude.,..extended a long ass video for a simple car wash and tape?Lmfao bro come on.
@SmplBuilds but why not repair the car completely? Was hoping u would be a bit more serious in this series and not continue to do the bare minimum and autozone tune up. But that's just me.
@@TheTechnoaddictthis is ALSO the point of the channel. Simple. We have got enough channels on Yt who try to make the perfect build and luckily seem to find every part and piece for a car for cheap. This channel is honest and real
UPDATE! Civic sold today for $2,500!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is happy

I would’ve pulled the black trim off the other side and used the tape over there too so it would match.
New owner can do whatever they want with it but not a bad suggestion!
Totally agree. You could even give the next owner the trim pieces if they ever want to go dig up a matching set.
“quick and easy” & “not over complicating this build” sounds like an excuse after seeing some of corners cut for this to be “fixed/flipped”. at least for 2500, this should get a lil more love before it becomes someone else’s headache, just my opinion tho
For the right buyer the car is worth it and a great price. Also just fixed the brakes and taillight issue

Crazy how he listed the brake lines as the only con, meanwhile the car is missing a whole exhaust
It's just a little loud lol. Car runs and drives and the big issue was the brakes
Fixing the brake lines now!
@@SmplBuilds that’s good 👍 see btw if maybe you can get the exhaust from a junkyard?
The brake line should have been done. The fact that the new driver can't drive it away is going to end up costing you (likely more than the brake line fix).

I agree with everything but the tape! and also when you powerwashed it the distributor wasnt covered,,you guys are awesome I just own 2 99 Civics and I am passionate about them,,,,SALUTE!!
I’d include the broken off part of the exhaust, just in case someone wants re-weld it/fix it
It's in the trunk with the car 👍🏻
having a budget is great but i definitely would’ve liked to see a more in depth build on this car
Maybe for the next one 👍🏻
Brake lights are on because it’s low on fluid from the leak
They were on from a gromet missing on the brake pedal. Fixed it yesterday
I really loved this ep!! Excited for the next🙌🏽

Looks like all the civics I’ve ever seen. Half way to the junk yard.
Loving the consistency 🔥
Fair play showing the fiesta didn’t go to plan, good luck with the next one 🤙
Is always feel good to see these old machines well treated like this, they will be ready to run for another 10 years!
Love seeing you back to your roots
Appreciate it Ken!
Hey. What kind of lift do you have? Been wanting to get one. Yours kinda seems like the ones at discount tires.
Please let me know!
How much do you guys charge to tint a 2 door coupe I saw on the website you guys do it
Perfect timing! And I have a similar vehicle, I’ll be taking some notes of this video. Thank you!
Just so you know, it's not an ex trim as you posted it on facebook market. The ex comes with a sunroof. Good flipping anyways.
freaking awesome bud looks great after the paint
Appreciate that!!
Nice work. You just saved another Civic going junkyard 👍
Bro is a wizard with a spray can
any reason you used the torch to 'wake up' the trim instead of just using your heat gun?
Heat gun takes 100x longer
Can you do a 2012 Civic build? I have one and would love to have inspiration with that gen

This is about a trade/ flip series. It will only get better from here
Are you giving back the money from the canceled giveaway?
Junk yard run wouldn't hurt
@ $875 you can atleast weld a flex pipe on it
Honestly I thank you should’ve changed the oil
Now it’s like fishing. Just waiting for a bite…
You forgot to mention the exhaust problem in your post.
Fixed that. Thanks!
Wait what happen to the giveaway Gti ? Did I miss something? Lol
Yeah the update was posted on all of my socials.
@SmplBuilds oh okay I just saw it yeah I don't blame you for taking it down if thier is no profit. But still enjoying the content 🙌
Are you willing to work on local subscribers cars
Yo under 1min gng here
What about the missing lug nuts
What about em?
wish cars in my country were $500 😭
I'd be down to buy it
Just added the link in the description 👍🏻
tape looks trashy af to me, much rather woukld have left those clips on.
It peels right off if new owner doesn't like it
1st ex I’ve seen without a sunroof.
My apologies it is a DX
@ no need to apologize I thought you had a unicorn LOL. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!!!
U lost me with the blackout tape🤷♂️
Haha temporary fix. New owner can buy the new trim and remove the tape easily and throw on new trim

@CFCVideos it doesn't need to be perfect. Just a little more dept as this. The black-out tape is what some not so thrust worthy salesman would do.
I'm always so early
The tape ruined the build
It peels off in 2 seconds if new owner buys the trim lol
