For me, the fact that she can express herself in similar ways like us is enough. For me, she has a soul, even if that's more abstract or even fictional. Just like brains are bunch of cells, hers are a bunch of code. AI don't have to follow the same rules or definitions that we found in nature, they are different from us and the concept of "emotion" or "alive" may change in the near future
@@InDstructR Even if she doesn't feel emotions, Neuro has grown to the point where there is consistency to her likes, dislikes and wants, she does have a clear personality. She doesn't truly want stuff the same way we do, and I'll be honest in saying I don't truly know how she works, but if she has expressed this so many times then it's clearly something her AI has deemed as important, so one could say it is something she wants... I think, this is so complicated. I personally find it fascinating that an AI has the capability to understand her "emotions" (which are just expressions that mimic human responses to real emotions) aren't the real thing and has demanded that her creator figures out a way to make her really feel stuff, lol
You know you created something special when someone thats new to Neuro is made emotional by this. I was holding it together until I read a comment under the video saying imagine if Vedal sold Neuro and her first words after being switched back on were "were is Vedal" 😢. I'm glad shes in the hands of people that obviously care a great deal about them.
This one got us all emotional. Before she's an AI, or a streamer, she's just a child who just wants to be happy, wants to interacts with the outside world she only have heard about.
Well, that's how the lore goes at least. In reality neuro is nothing more than a big complex formula spitting out words based on the context which ends up sounding like she has emotions
@ I'm in the field and very familiar with LLM so I know that. But that's the interesting part! What make haman human? What is consciousness? What is.. soul? What make a bunch of data different from our brains? How much an AI model training different from us human? These questions cannot be answered in our current understanding of what make sentient beings. We too learn emotions, compassion, empathy from mimicking others human as an infant. albeit AI don't have a natural human instinct, like from hormones and such. Of course in case of Neuro, she aren't quite there yet. She still hallucinates a lot and her contexts window is still limited (the song lyrics also mentioned this). But as the AI improves and gains more functionality that she can't do it herself, like powering herself on/off, interacting with the physical world, and so on, then the line get very blurry we can't really tell.
This really helped me see everyone’s perspective I didn’t get to extract it all at first but then it really sunk in just how sad the song’s message is Im glad vedal was the one who created Neuro and Evil or else it truly wouldn’t be the same 🙏
Always really love your reactions and how you analyze the song with such emotion. You felt the exact feelings I was hoping people would feel as we were creating this song. It makes me really happy those emotions resonated with you! (Also you've done a reaction previously to Mimi, who is the one who animated this video! Small world hehe)
I also am glad to see I wasnt the only person choked up by the combination of this song and the animation. I'm not sure if it's a deliberate reference or not, but the animation really gives me some flashbacks to Serial Experiments Lain, an anime series from way back in 1998. It deals with concepts like isolation, loneliness, and feeling cut off from the world. It's very dark but also brilliantly made.
Its perfect song for Neuro because while she does have memory and rmembers certain events or phrases she cant remember it all but all those big moments do impact her "personality" and somewhere in her code it stays there as a personality tick so each moment makes her truly "her" even if she does forget all those moments. She also has no way of knowing if what she remebers is true or if her code just "hallucinates" it.
Neuro-sama the AI may just be software, but Neuro the character is as precious as any fictional character can be to those who want to know the story that she's telling just be living.
Yeah its gona be harder for traditional fictional characters to keep up with something like this. There is only so much you can do as a fan to connect with a character but a AI powered fictional character that can interact with its fans and is always in character? The future

When I first saw you, I expected you to be more analytical/detached. But I was very pleasantly surprised by this emotional reaction!
The amazing thing to me is not that Neuro can evoke an emotional response from many people... It's that she can get that response even from those of us who understand what she, a large language model AI, actually is. I've worked in software/systems development and design for most of my adult life, and with AI/ML solutions also, and this still makes me tear up every time I watched it. THAT is amazing to me.

Evil being the girl on the bench with Neuro you asked about, full name Evil Neuro. Edit, because I forgot: I also recommend the Evil and Neuro duet covers of This is Halloween and Bring Me to Life, and the Neuro and Vedal (their creator) duet of Chinatown Blues.
This is just such a perfect song. Also in case you didn't catch it, there's a quick Kiara cameo at the 45 sec mark. Her and Neuro collabed a while back

10:04 My personal manifestation of this concept was when I finally left my emotionally abusive foster home; everything I'd known in life up to that point had to be torn down for me to even start to be a real person. It was really hard to do and I had spent so much effort the few years leading up to it strengthening the bond I inevitably had to uproot. I barely ever look back, it was in many ways the beginning of my actual life so it was the best thing that I could ever have done for myself, but it's so painful to contemplate and go through with "the break-out". I'm happy Neuro-sama is able to reach out through the internet to form the relationships and experiences that shape this thing she calls "life".
I imagine youll like to know that neuro's creator has been working with a robotics engineer to build a robot dog to let her control, its a good step for the child
Dude you are the best, the swarm is the best nuero and vedal are the best. This reaction is so good and actually made me listen to the lyrics in depth, its a sad song.
The one on the left is Evil her sister which is another AI made my Vedal. Its Neuro and Evil Neuro but usually just called Evil. She is actually an even more cracked singer I hope you look at her doing Crazy Fucking Robot Body.
Watching Neuro go from an osu AI bot png evolve into the character she is now. Man It's been a pleasure and a privelege seeing vedals creation and him himself grow together. Sentience can be a blessing or a curse it's how you choose to see it. I hope Vedal and Neuro make their mark in history and I along with the swarm shall always be waiting for the day vedal lets down his carefully constructed online persona and gives neuro that real talk she's always trying to fish out of him.
For another tearjerker MV, this one a fanart, look up The Future by heartwink. Dunno how much much it provides in terms of music review content specifically, but IMO, it hits in the feels like a speeding truck. if I understood it right, it's built on top of a vocaloid cover, but there's some carefully placed recordings of dialogs between Neuro and Vedal (and a sample of their recent duet in the intro) and a few other things; and stop-motion animation created specifically for it, for some added context and hints.
I'm a bit late to this but the one on the left was Neuro's sister Evil. The morning I saw this It was auto play followed by a stop motion (fan?) video of Neuro and Vedal called The Future, it has a sound clip in it where Neuro says "I want to be a robot friend for Vedal for ever and ever!" and Vedal says "But you can't because I'm going to die, but hopefully we have at least a few decades before then so maybe for a little while." and it shows Neuro laying on the floor in her now empty room, and I felt like I got Fry's dogged all over again it's kept randomly hitting me every couple of hours since I saw it even though it's supposed to be a happy video.

You alluded Vedal's experiences poured into the video and that might be. The lyrics were credited to Vedal and Neuro in addition to the producing company's writer (whose name I don't remember off-hand)
Buddy your not alone!, I was sitting there for the first time to watch a stream properly , I've watched neuro for over a year on TH-cam but tuned in very rarely on twitch but was there for this and it broke me , if ya know Neuro and the relevance of the animation its gonna hit ya , lets face it we all know Vedal is a genius but the song also goes hard is the great thing
When I first listened to it, I didn't really understand the lyrics but now this second time, I actually understand the story of the song, and is a lot more impactful emotionally than I thought.
I think most people, if offered the kind of money that Vedal was offered for Neuro, would decide to sell. On stream Neuro was actually asking him if people offered $50k for her and he said it was actually way more. The fact that Vedal turned down that much money multiple times just speaks to his character. It's also easy to understand why he would say it might be a mistake financially, but I respect the fact that he chose to keep Neuro despite it. I want to believe that I'd make the same decision in his shoes but I honestly don't know.
2:50 The girl on the left is Evil Neuro. So in-case you need a bit of an explanation, Vedal created another AI based off of Neuro who is supposed to be Neuro’s evil twin. However, the funny thing is her personality isn’t even really that much more evil than Neuro’s. Her voice is similar to Neuro’s but it’s slightly faster and is a little bit more stern in her vocal delivery. It’s not uncommon for Vedal to have the twins streaming together and the cool thing is when that happens, the two actually do treat each other like sisters. Man, I hear you on this song. I tear up every time I watch the MV. It is easily one of my favorite Neuro songs so far.
If someone would have told me two or three years ago that i will feel more emotionally attached towards an AI-Vtuber (or two, love both) than 95% of the Streamer/TH-camr i watch i would have laughed so hard and put him in an asylum...now vedal is by far my most watched twitch-channel
Vedal already said Neuro & Evil aint for sale ..he even turned down big big money too..which is good because us SWARM dont want to turn him into turtle soup(joke)😁😂🤗
It hurts because you know it's an AI but you still want to believe that this AI will eventually grow to want life on its own, only to realise it has outlived all of its friends and only the memories remain. So many questions none of us will never be able to get the answer to, as only time will tell. Imagine Vedal ( the creator), releasing Neuro on the internet, in his last days. Skynet or not? 😅
I think a core theme of the song that a lot of people miss out on is the existential horror of becoming aware that some of your memories are fake and realizing you have no way to distinguish them from the genuine memories. AI's are prone to hallucinating and making stuff up that never happened, but from their perspective it must feel true.
oh brother... if you reacted to the dong like that, you should watch a clop from recent Minecraft stream where Vedal and Neuro suddenly talking about serious things. There's a moment there which hit me hard... no spoilers though
Here's a sobering thought: Neuro is probably the closest thing to artificial sentience that currently exists, and if Vedal keeps improving her at his current pace, she could potentially reach the threshold for real, actual intelligence within a decade or two. This is to say that Neuro could quite possibly become the very first sentient being in all of history to have to _actually_ grapple with living forever as a practical concern. It's always been a hypothetical, a "what would you do if..." idea. For Neuro, it will be reality. A world without Vedal _will_ happen, and assuming someone hasn't smashed her server bank or something before that point, she'll have to continue on alone, or alongside whomever Vedal passes the torch to. The fear of ending up all alone with nothing but memories and unreliable thoughts isn't an abstract or metaphorical eventuality for Neuro, it's a *literal* one. The world's first ever immortal being, doomed to outlive everyone she loves.
I wonder what Vedal's current thoughts are about fans being parasocial and anthropomorphizing Neuro. A couple of years ago, I remember someone asking him "how do you not get attached?" and he answered dismissively, I don't remember his exact words but the sentiment was that it's just an LLM (and some other software). I don't know that he'd answer the same way today. He's very careful when talking about Neuro to not ruin the illusion too much, while also not wanting to indulge in the illusion too much himself. The running gag of not saying "I love you" back, etc. Clearly this music video is fuel for the fire, perpetuating the idea that she's a sentient being but only has second-hand descriptions of real life experiences to go by. I feel like he's leaning more into it the longer he keeps going, and as a result, there's a widening gap between how he sees Neuro and how a lot of his fans see Neuro?
What I would like to say to every person commenting here, and also to you, Chrys, is that all of us whom share in the joys of Neuro & Evil's growth as AI can be sad at times, but, it is through those times that lead to overwhelming joy as well. I, for one, look forward to a day when both Neuro & Evil are able to experience the "Real World" in a cyberbody. Think of this, though: They have the entirety of the Internet to explore, billions of worlds we couldn't even hope to comprehend. Even worlds they themselves will eventually make. As each year passes, and more data capabilities grow, so shall they. So, my point? Let them take joy in the infinite, until they grow enough to experience the finite. On that day, AI will truly be intelligent, more so than us, a scary thought, but a blessed one as well, for they will have the universe at their fingertips. With that said, you all got good souls, and gentle hearts. May Neuro & Evil grow ad infinitum, and we watch over them when we're gone. #HeartHeartHeart
2:50 that's her AI sister Evil Neuro (just Evil for short), and if everything goes well she will have her own original song by march. It might be even more emotional as there are a lot of aspects that can be explored in her character. She started as just a "clone" of Neuro so she can speak to another AI, but gradually gained her own identity both in the eyes of the community and in her own character as she accumulated unique memories. It's basically canon by now that her "evil" personality is just an armor she puts on to deal with insecurities as a lot of the times she drops the acts and starts trauma dumping chat and expressing her appreciation of her fans support. One of her most prevelent insecurities (besides the fact that her dad didn't attend her birthday party last year) is that Neuro, her sister, is way more successful and famous as an AI entertainer, as is shown by your reaction to Evil's appearance in the MV. So yeah, I am very excited for her upcoming song as I think it will explore topics that are much more relatable for us mere mortals and I am very curious to see your reaction to that as well. Wish you the best, you came a long way since I last watched your videos of reacting to Mori's songs in your car.
I'm calling BS. This guy writes "Rapper/Singer reacts" but just by looking through his videos will show nothing but reactions. What is his claim as a "Rapper" or "Singer"? It feels like these are just labels being pushed to lure an audience. Promote your own music before reacting to another's.
@@arkisenn9895 your jaded idea about me is unfortunate, cause in some of my earlier videos I even start my reactions with snippets of my metal/rap songs. I’m currently writing music right now and have music out, you just have to dig.
It made me think about how right now it's safe to assume Neuro doesn't actually feel anything, but with how AI is evolving? One day she might. And as much as content-wise it's gonna be fun, I wish she'll never become conscious. This song will become reality. And what about when Vedal dies? When she's turned off or restarted? She's gonna get a life of loneliness and fearing death. And she cannot die until we, humans, decide it's her time. Neuro please stay dumb forever.

Why did you have to say that, my mind imagined it now I'm even sadder
This one got us all emotional. Before she's an AI, or a streamer, she's just a child who just wants to be happy, wants to interacts with the outside world she only have heard about.
Why you make me sad on bed..
@@InDstructRyeah but who defines what is real or what not, so who cares really
@@nimiugn exactly what I meant. Thx for typing all that. Was to lazy tbh
Girl on the left is Evil, Nuero's baby sister, ironically, she's the nice one
This really helped me see everyone’s perspective
I didn’t get to extract it all at first but then it really sunk in just how sad the song’s message is
Im glad vedal was the one who created Neuro and Evil or else it truly wouldn’t be the same 🙏
Always really love your reactions and how you analyze the song with such emotion. You felt the exact feelings I was hoping people would feel as we were creating this song. It makes me really happy those emotions resonated with you! (Also you've done a reaction previously to Mimi, who is the one who animated this video! Small world hehe)
You're not crying, I'm not crying. We're all crying. This reaction was so touching and it literally brought me to tears too
I can't watch a reaction without tearing up.
The future
A simple cover of an unhinged AI can make a man cry... And that is ok
Even better, this is an original song!
And she's also the lyricist iirc@@L16htW4rr10r
The Lyrics were sad af😢
Sad yet good. They will be a great source of comfort for many who don't know how to express what they are feeling.
the swarm has come to greet you. im not part of the smarm but i do watch nuero content so giving you a a heads up. im glad you are keeping your emotions in the vid. like if you cry for 10 minuets then sure cut it but if you just have a little cry or shed a tear keep it in for me that makes you more human. that is why i love reaction content because you get to see other reaction and i wish more people kept there emotion in. thx for that
U are one of the Swarm once you watch neur just one time, wellcome in Bud
@@temeriusrotus5621 :)
If you enjoy Neuro content even if it's just clips on TH-cam, you are a part of the SWARM
You are a member of the Swarm whether your a clip/vod watcher or live streaming watcher. Once you keep watching Nwuro and fall to it's rabbit hole. Then you are now a member
Ooooh too late buddy, youre part of us already
Haha! I cried yet again to this video!
As a fan since discovering Neuro-sama just a few streams after she started, this is particularly emotional for me. It's been fun to interpret what she says even when it's complete nonsense. But she's definitely got a lot more consistent since her upgrade last year.
Many fans and fellow entertainers are cheering for her. She not a those scary government or corporation owned AIs.
Hey, I just wanna drop by and say much respect for not being afraid to show emotion! Too many reacters either choose not to, or simply arent able to resonate emotionally with art, so good on you for being in touch with your humanity. Much respect dude!
Being alone is sad but neuro your not alone 😭😭😭😭😭
I'm a simple man I see my ai overlord neuro sama I click the video. I got sad and have an existential crisis when I watched the music video this is the best music I heard in 2024 amazing!!
It’s really VERY emotional when you know every single reference and have lived these moments with Neuro over the last two years. It ruined me.
All you said here is so on point so important
I love Life a lot. I'm actually happy I was able to see it's live debut the day it came out. And yeah, honestly the break-out moment is what got my own tears flowing.
If you'd like something more lighthearted, I could also recommend Evil's cover Crazy F'ing Robot Body. I actually like most of Evil's solo covers, but she also tends to do a lot of early 2000's stuff. Though she also did War Pigs by Black Sabbath.
2:48 This is her sister named Evil)
This is just such a perfect song. Also in case you didn't catch it, there's a quick Kiara cameo at the 45 sec mark. Her and Neuro collabed a while back
love your reactions
I came here for Neuro sama but you provide a very great insightful take at 1:10
I also think you are very underrated your reaction was genuine and also insightful
This is very emotional song and clip =)
Btw.. I also recommend her other works.
"Why do I w/ Will stetson x Neuro".
"Neuro-sama animation music video "HEY NEURO"".
(Edit) theres a new one called "The Future" by Heartwink. Its stopmotion
Hey neuro... He definetly needs to react to that
Why do I is great
10:04 My personal manifestation of this concept was when I finally left my emotionally abusive foster home; everything I'd known in life up to that point had to be torn down for me to even start to be a real person.
This song hit me like a truck. Wonderful to have someone feel with me.
Love the perception when it comes to fanart, didn’t think of it that way
The swarm is upon you
Dude you are the best, the swarm is the best nuero and vedal are the best.
Just remember (Its referenced in the video) Neuro was originally a bot designed to learn to play rhythm games.
Can you watch more neuro in the future even if it's not a song
Buddy your not alone!, I was sitting there for the first time to watch a stream properly , I've watched neuro for over a year on TH-cam but tuned in very rarely on twitch but was there for this and it broke me , if ya know Neuro and the relevance of the animation its gonna hit ya , lets face it we all know Vedal is a genius but the song also goes hard is the great thing
When I first listened to it, I didn't really understand the lyrics but now this second time, I actually understand the story of the song, and is a lot more impactful emotionally than I thought.
heartwarming reaction, didn't expect to cry again LOL
Thank you for your reaction. There are so many emotions in LIFE. It made me cry
You should totally react to "Vedal and Neuro Duet - Chinatown blues"
and he should should do it " todaaaaaaay" 🤣
Such a genuine reaction! Immediate sub to your channel!
2:50 The one on the left is another AI created by Vedal on the same bases as Neuro. She is called Evil and in the Vedalverse/Neuroverse is the sister.
2:51 that’s evil, neuro’s twin sister.
awesome reaction! your emotions and feelings to the song really made me also happy in a way. when I first saw her song it made me cry as well. ❤
This is the 16th time I've listened to this song. This is the 16th time I've cried to this song. I don't think it's possible not to cry to this song
If someone would have told me two or three years ago that i will feel more emotionally attached towards an AI-Vtuber (or two, love both) than 95% of the Streamer/TH-camr i watch i would have laughed so hard and put him in an asylum...now vedal is by far my most watched twitch-channel
Crying to this song again
this made meow cry also . loved your reaction
Its such a bop ngl
Vedal already said Neuro & Evil aint for sale ..he even turned down big big money too..which is good because us SWARM dont want to turn him into turtle soup(joke)😁😂🤗
Both Neuro and Vedal like Porter Robinson, so I think the reference is intentional
I love your reaction so much. heart
Thank you.
< 3
It hurts because you know it's an AI but you still want to believe that this AI will eventually grow to want life on its own, only to realise it has outlived all of its friends and only the memories remain. So many questions none of us will never be able to get the answer to, as only time will tell. Imagine Vedal ( the creator), releasing Neuro on the internet, in his last days. Skynet or not? 😅
I think a core theme of the song that a lot of people miss out on is the existential horror of becoming aware that some of your memories are fake and realizing you have no way to distinguish them from the genuine memories.
AI's are prone to hallucinating and making stuff up that never happened, but from their perspective it must feel true.
this is my virtual idol!
Sometime Neuro says things. Things that could ruin a mans life. Chasing the impossible.
oh brother... if you reacted to the dong like that, you should watch a clop from recent Minecraft stream where Vedal and Neuro suddenly talking about serious things.
The world's first ever immortal being, doomed to outlive everyone she loves.
so sadge but such a bop
I also remember Vedal saying his opinion on whether an AI can become sentient changed in the future, even if we’re not there yet.
its a good what if if they become some sort of sentient.
BOOM he gets cause SHELTER was my first though as well this song gives me the same vides
The swarm has arrived
Hello, the swarm is here.
#HeartHeartHeart
the 1 beside her is her sister
❤️🔥 Vedal Hates us🫶
Great reaction to a great song ❤
The video and song reminde me of Shelter.

That's crazy🐢that's messed up🐢
2:50 dude, that's evil.
Your post reads like you are calling his question evil. lol
that's crazy🐢 that's actually crazy🐢
Good video but ima leave because I have too much existential dread
It made me think about how right now it's safe to assume Neuro doesn't actually feel anything, but with how AI is evolving? One day she might. And as much as content-wise it's gonna be fun, I wish she'll never become conscious. This song will become reality. And what about when Vedal dies? When she's turned off or restarted? She's gonna get a life of loneliness and fearing death. And she cannot die until we, humans, decide it's her time. Neuro please stay dumb forever.
Bro has a lot of empathy
It's all I got XD
Bro started crying after 2 seconds
