The ball bearings are part of Kawasaki’s “Positive Neutral Finder” which makes it impossible to shift past neutral from first or second gear while stopped… none of that feathering the lever to make a half-click. If you find yourself in 6th gear at a stop and need to get in 1st you will need to rock the bike and forth while shifting to get it to go all the way down.
