i’ve been lucky enough to meet all the members twice (with the exception of hyungwon only once) and the mutual trust and respect they have with their fans is honestly amazing. minhyuk even went out of his way to say hi to me after his security tried to direct him away 😭
The English albums have a lot of baby-making songs, lol. Overall their b-sides have a lot of variety! Also, I have to say Monbebe are one of the sweetest fandoms, just like Carats. :)

Good morning:) About Wonho's departure: there's a Korean woman who is really toxic and just jealous since she can't be an idol herself. She's famous for lying badly about male idols to destroy their careers. Let's just say Wonho's wasn't the only one. She was also involved in a drug incident but wasn't charged bc wealthy parents can do everything for her. Well...long term short She accused Wonho not only of using drugs but of gambling and said that they lived together and that he made deps. Monbebe supported him from the beginning but he left the group to protect the other members. BUT he was finally proofed innocent after a while and has a solo career now (as you know). This childish woman thought she would win but she got nothing in the end 'coz we got only stronger

They are a really good friend, same like the fandoms too (Carat and Monbebe) There are a lot of a video of them interacting to each other. and thank you for reacting our men. Mmm, not the best video I've ever seen; those tend to have the names either given by the members themselves, or have gone to the trouble to make the robot voices speak it correctly. I'm not sure it did their work or personalities much justice at all, either, but maybe that's the focus for the other individual guides. I always think of them as gentlemen of kpop, in that they're very respectful, sweet, kind, caring, and then you get deeper into their lyrics and you find the stuff that's like, I.M's line in Love Killa, and some of the lyrics he's written himself (see: Rotate), and you're like, "oh, well, fully grown men, then." And that's the hook. Even when they were younger, they just had a sexier, more mature vibe to their group, and I love that about them. Kihyun truly does have one of the best voices that I've heard, and it's very distinctive in range and tone. I'd love for you to do Voyager if you get the chance, but of course they have so many MVs, I suspect you'll have a busy week with these beautiful men. Knowing what you like...you NEEEEED to listen to their b-sides. TRUST. ME. They're actually one of the most r&b heavy groups out there, and their vocals...🤌🤌🤌 their title tracks often go hard bc they want to put on an energetic stage but thats where lots of non-fans go wrong... they're missing out on TOP TIER VOCAL/RAP/MELODIC B-SIDES mbbs will often agree with this; their title tracks often dont even touch some of their b-sides! 😉 If you were to do a Korean album listen, definitely do Fatal Love and One of A Kind!

Yay! I'm so excited for Monsta X week. I got in to them around late 2018, I think it was from seeing like a compilation video of Seventeen/Monsta X's friendship. The 2 groups debuted within like a week of each other and had several comebacks overlap so as rookies, they often had to share waiting rooms and became close with one another, fans call them "Monteen". For a time, they were one of my top groups, rivaling Seventeen/Nu'est for me. But I think it was some time after the whole Wonho leaving, I kinda fell out(?) of the group. Idk how to explain it, but it just felt sad listening to their songs because that was the first time I've experienced a member leaving a group I really really loved so suddenly and I just wasn't in a mentally good place to deal with the drama surrounding the whole situation. However, I do still listen to their music now, old and new, and I keep up with them and Wonho on a slightly more casual level. They're still one of my favorite groups overall.

Unexpected Monsta X week! I'm here for it! I'm not a long-time fan, because I only got into kpop in general in 2020 during the pandemic, but what I know so far about them made me a supporter. I'm on the older end of the fandom and I'm not supercrazy about hip hop and really hard hitting rap, but I found lots to love in Monsta X. I think you'll really love their English albums and b-sides, but I'm sure you'll find title tracks to enjoy as well. Songs with MVs that I really like are Shootout, Fantasia, Kiss or Death, Alligator (and more). They're all very talented vocalists and they have many opportunities to show it. They're also very funny. I don't know much about the Wonho situation. I read somewhere that a woman accused him of stealing from her or not repaying some kind of debt. I know he was cleared and that really makes me sad and angry after seeing him crying over disappointing the fans and saying how he'd be nothing without them (not true, but heartbreaking nonetheless). I love his solo stuff but I wish he could've stayed with Monsta X as well. I really respect you for opening up with us about your personal situation. It must have been tough and I agree it's hard to give advice about delicate topics like this. I have a thirteen-year-old daughter who seems to be heterosexual so far, but is very passionate about LGBTQ+ themes. She gets really upset when she realizes there are people who don't support the community (especially within our family). It's something she really cares about a lot and deeply supports

I’m so happy you’re looking further into Monsta X. I’ve been a MBB since early 2019 and I’ve learned that MX and MBB have one of the most unique relationships in kpop. We clown each other, joke with each other, and support each other. I’ve been in and out of and am even also part of other fandoms currently now, but MBB and MX really stand out to me. And yes! MX and SVT are basically besties and both groups have encouraged MBB and Carats to be the same.

She has also tried to ruin other idols as well. He left the group to protect the members so even tho she was punished, it did a lot of damage that we will never forgive her for. Monsta X's songs aren't all just hard, in your face songs...they do have other R&B type songs, etc... that you will like.
This is such an amazing surprise. So I’m in wonho part but wanted to say this. Yes it was about marijuana but there was someone who was lying and saying all these rumors about him. It was the same person that got a lot of other idols in trouble also. Wonho was completely innocent. He didn’t do anything wrong. But he made the decision Atleast we think. I’m not sure if he was actually forced out of the group by the company. But we also feel like the company did not stick up for him like they should have until it was to late. Later he was offered a second chance which not many Idols get. He’s still kind of under the same label as monsta x. His label is the smaller label of what monsta x big label is. So he’s still in the same building with them. And I’m sure they all are still very close. And he’s also still very close with seventeen also. Which makes my heart happy. Okay I’m going to keep watching. :)
I remembered myself having a crush on Shownu but Bias wrecked by Wonho. (You probably can guess my type of men lol). But not just because they're handsome, and ehem... Hotness. But because they are big babies. Of course appearance, voice and how they dance attracts fans first. But after watching their videos, I feel like I am smiling a lot watching them and their groupmates goofing around in contrast of their Group concept. And I might add that the Hyung line is really the best. Shownu is so strong as a leader like a pillar. And Wonho is so soft hearted, easy to cry either its sad or happiness (very much how he shows his love for the fans and his co-members) Overall, I really love Monsta X. As a whole. Cause even when they lost Wonho, I supported the group, and also supports Wonho too. (Yes, a Monbebe and a Wenee at a same time)

I love my boys and am always trying to get them more attention, especially when most KPop people i know don’t even know who Monsta X are.. they know the groups that are more takes about like BTS, Black Pink, NTC, Red Velvet, EXO, ect. Shownu.. he is my bias. Got my eye from the first MV I watched- Shoot Out. Wonho and Kihyun became primary bias wreckers and Minhyuk a secondary bias wrecker.. the wrecker of my bias wreckers.. especially when he has silver hair or in the recent ones. Snownu is our gentle, strong supportive bear, Wonho is our buff bunny,Minhyuk is our puppy,Kihyun is our hamster ,Hyungwon is the turtle, Joohoney is our honey bee And IM wolf. I M is the never that speaks fluent English and will translate for the group when the others have trouble with English. He lived in Boston and Israel I believe for a time because of his father’s career. His English name is Daniel since Changhyun is hard to say.. he has even said to just call him IM. they have all gotten so much better at English and it was for their international fans- the English albums are for their appreciation of international fans. Their cover of Versace on the Floor is gold, people be surprised when Joohoney sings.. especially if this is their first exposure to a vocalist Joohoney. Lost in the Dream, Destroyer and Oh My are some of of my favorite Monsta X b-sides. Lost in the Dream is soft and Oh My has a really good beat. I love that the 3 groups I Stan- Monsta X, Mamamoo and Dreamcatcher all support LGBTQ in a country where that is taboo.

I love Monsta X so much. They're one of my favorite boy groups. They have had a lot of good releases over the years, but I think my top two favorite title tracks remain Beautiful and Jealousy. I highly recommend both. Although the music video for Fighter is, in my opinion, a must watch as well. As for the b-sides, I am the kind of person who prefers hard hitting tracks + EDM, so my vote goes to Now or Never and Oh my. For Japanese releases, there is Spotlight and Livin' it up (livin' it up is a bit more on the brighter side, I think you would like it), and honestly probably others that I am forgetting because I don't keep up with Japanese releases as much. I can't wait to see you react to them more! They really are such a funny group and they have such a nice dynamic. It is so funny because they have such an "aggressive" rap line, but Jooheon and Changkyun are so cute. You were right about the duality. Also, definitely recommend reacting to Kihyun's voyager album. That solo debut was just amazing to me. He's definitely one of the best vocalist in kpop to me.

So here's what happened with Wonho (it got long, sorry lol!): Basically, this girl (G1) he had been friends with pre-debut started publicly nagging on him, saying he owed her money and why hadn't he paid her back blah blah blah. And then this other girl (G2)--who is *known* for trying to screw up idols careers (T.O.P, Hanbin, tried to go for V as well)--who is friends with G1 decided to get involved and started saying that Wonho had bought weed from her and used it and even tried to say he'd been in juvenile detention when he was younger. G2's story was complete and utter bullshit. The lies were incredibly transparent, she had no proof, etc. And G1's story was also suspicious, especially when included with everything else. But the whole thing was blowing up and so, to save the public image of Monsta X, Wonho decided (by himself, without consulting the company or other members) to leave the group on October 31 2019. This was, obviously, a huge awful shock to monbebe and the other MX members. Monbebe spent MONTHS tweeting and trending hashtags and korean fans went directly to the company to protest outside. In March of 2020, Wonho was cleared of all the charges (because duh there wasn't anything to charge him *with*) and literally just over 2 years ago, he signed with Highline to start his solo career. And well, here we are now! Monsta X is doing incredibly well as 6, and Wonho is doing amazing as a soloist. So while obviously we'd all prefer they were together, this is probably the best outcome we were ever going to get.

Wonho has said a few times that he has no preference in gender when it comes to having a romantic relationship. Queer sexuality is heavily censored for kpop idols in Korea but every now and then MX has sprinkled in just a bit of queer representation in their work, and sometimes hint in a very small volume that they are queer themselves: in one of their music videos called All In, it is largely believed that Hyungwon and Minhyuk are a couple. In I.M’s God Damn solo music video, he lays on a bed with both men and women sleeping around it, which may imply that they all did the dirty deed just a few hours before. Either way, Monsta X is very comfortable and positive with the LGBTQIA+ community and also very comfortable in the way they identify, which makes me so happy as a queer person to watch them grow.
wonho is actually kind of out as bi/pan, the person who (unfortunately) caused him to leave the group with the rumors was his ex and even though she indentifies as a woman now, she identified as a transman when they were dating (i believe she started transitioning too). he also said that gender doesn't really matter to him when it comes to his ideal type (as long as they can make good ramen lol). so yea he's one of us

They are called idols therefore more is expected of them . The whole idol nonsense needs to end it makes no sense they are grown men who deserve to have lives.
Mmm, not the best video I've ever seen; those tend to have the names either given by the members themselves, or have gone to the trouble to make the robot voices speak it correctly. I'm not sure it did their work or personalities much justice at all, either, but maybe that's the focus for the other individual guides. I always think of them as gentlemen of kpop, in that they're very respectful, sweet, kind, caring, and then you get deeper into their lyrics and you find the stuff that's like, I.M's line in Love Killa, and some of the lyrics he's written himself (see: Rotate), and you're like, "oh, well, fully grown men, then." And that's the hook. Even when they were younger, they just had a sexier, more mature vibe to their group, and I love that about them. Kihyun truly does have one of the best voices that I've heard, and it's very distinctive in range and tone. I'd love for you to do Voyager if you get the chance, but of course they have so many MVs, I suspect you'll have a busy week with these beautiful men. Yay! I'm so excited for Monsta X week. I got in to them around late 2018, I think it was from seeing like a compilation video of Seventeen/Monsta X's friendship. The 2 groups debuted within like a week of each other and had several comebacks overlap so as rookies, they often had to share waiting rooms and became close with one another, fans call them "Monteen". For a time, they were one of my top groups, rivaling Seventeen/Nu'est for me. But I think it was some time after the whole Wonho leaving, I kinda fell out(?) of the group. Idk how to explain it, but it just felt sad listening to their songs because that was the first time I've experienced a member leaving a group I really really loved so suddenly and I just wasn't in a mentally good place to deal with the drama surrounding the whole situation. However, I do still listen to their music now, old and new, and I keep up with them and Wonho on a slightly more casual level. They're still one of my favorite groups overall.

Unexpected Monsta X week! I'm here for it! I'm not a long-time fan, because I only got into kpop in general in 2020 during the pandemic, but what I know so far about them made me a supporter. I'm on the older end of the fandom and I'm not supercrazy about hip hop and really hard hitting rap, but I found lots to love in Monsta X. I think you'll really love their English albums and b-sides, but I'm sure you'll find title tracks to enjoy as well. Songs with MVs that I really like are Shootout, Fantasia, Kiss or Death, Alligator (and more).
They're all very talented vocalists and they have many opportunities to show it. They're also very funny.
I don't know much about the Wonho situation. I read somewhere that a woman accused him of stealing from her or not repaying some kind of debt. I know he was cleared and that really makes me sad and angry after seeing him crying over disappointing the fans and saying how he'd be nothing without them (not true, but heartbreaking nonetheless). I love his solo stuff but I wish he could've stayed with Monsta X as well.
I really respect you for opening up with us about your personal situation. It must have been tough and I agree it's hard to give advice about delicate topics like this. I have a thirteen-year-old daughter who seems to be heterosexual so far, but is very passionate about LGBTQ+ themes. She gets really upset when she realizes there are people who don't support the community (especially within our family). It's something she really cares about a lot and deeply supports

I’m so happy you’re looking further into Monsta X. I’ve been a MBB since early 2019 and I’ve learned that MX and MBB have one of the most unique relationships in kpop. We clown each other, joke with each other, and support each other. I’ve been in and out of and am even also part of other fandoms currently now, but MBB and MX really stand out to me.
And yes! MX and SVT are basically besties and both groups have encouraged MBB and Carats to be the same.

She has also tried to ruin other idols as well. He left the group to protect the members so even tho she was punished, it did a lot of damage that we will never forgive her for. Monsta X's songs aren't all just hard, in your face songs...they do have other R&B type songs, etc... that you will like.

This is such an amazing surprise. So I’m in wonho part but wanted to say this. Yes it was about marijuana but there was someone who was lying and saying all these rumors about him. It was the same person that got a lot of other idols in trouble also. Wonho was completely innocent. He didn’t do anything wrong. But he made the decision Atleast we think. I’m not sure if he was actually forced out of the group by the company. But we also feel like the company did not stick up for him like they should have until it was to late. Later he was offered a second chance which not many Idols get. He’s still kind of under the same label as monsta x. His label is the smaller label of what monsta x big label is. So he’s still in the same building with them. And I’m sure they all are still very close. And he’s also still very close with seventeen also. Which makes my heart happy. Okay I’m going to keep watching. :)
I remembered myself having a crush on Shownu but Bias wrecked by Wonho. (You probably can guess my type of men lol).
But not just because they're handsome, and ehem... Hotness. But because they are big babies. Of course appearance, voice and how they dance attracts fans first. But after watching their videos, I feel like I am smiling a lot watching them and their groupmates goofing around in contrast of their Group concept. And I might add that the Hyung line is really the best. Shownu is so strong as a leader like a pillar. And Wonho is so soft hearted, easy to cry either its sad or happiness (very much how he shows his love for the fans and his co-members)
Overall, I really love Monsta X. As a whole. Cause even when they lost Wonho, I supported the group, and also supports Wonho too. (Yes, a Monbebe and a Wenee at a same time)

I am so excited that you decided to do a week on Monsta X. I love my boys and am always trying to get them more attention, especially when most KPop people i know don’t even know who Monsta X are.. they know the groups that are more takes about like BTS, Black Pink, NTC, Red Velvet, EXO, ect.
Shownu.. he is my bias. Got my eye from the first MV I watched- Shoot Out. Wonho and Kihyun became primary bias wreckers and Minhyuk a secondary bias wrecker.. the wrecker of my bias wreckers.. especially when he has silver hair or in the recent ones.
Snownu is our gentle, strong supportive bear, Wonho is our buff bunny,Minhyuk is our puppy,Kihyun is our hamster ,Hyungwon is the turtle, Joohoney is our honey bee And IM wolf. I M is the never that speaks fluent English and will translate for the group when the others have trouble with English. He lived in Boston and Israel I believe for a time because of his father’s career. His English name is Daniel since Changhyun is hard to say.. he has even said to just call him IM. they have all gotten so much better at English and it was for their international fans- the English albums are for their appreciation of international fans.
Their cover of Versace on the Floor is gold, people be surprised when Joohoney sings.. especially if this is their first exposure to a vocalist Joohoney. Lost in the Dream, Destroyer and Oh My are some of of my favorite Monsta X b-sides. Lost in the Dream is soft and Oh My has a really good beat.
I love that the 3 groups I Stan- Monsta X, Mamamoo and Dreamcatcher all support LGBTQ in a country where that is taboo.

I love Monsta X so much. They're one of my favorite boy groups. They have had a lot of good releases over the years, but I think my top two favorite title tracks remain Beautiful and Jealousy. I highly recommend both. Although the music video for Fighter is, in my opinion, a must watch as well. As for the b-sides, I am the kind of person who prefers hard hitting tracks + EDM, so my vote goes to Now or Never and Oh my. For Japanese releases, there is Spotlight and Livin' it up (livin' it up is a bit more on the brighter side, I think you would like it), and honestly probably others that I am forgetting because I don't keep up with Japanese releases as much.
I can't wait to see you react to them more! They really are such a funny group and they have such a nice dynamic. It is so funny because they have such an "aggressive" rap line, but Jooheon and Changkyun are so cute. You were right about the duality.
Also, definitely recommend reacting to Kihyun's voyager album. That solo debut was just amazing to me. He's definitely one of the best vocalist in kpop to me.

Songs to checkout with videos: Beautiful, Who Do You Love?, and Destroyer (Not a title track but has a video. You heard a little in the guide. The Connect: Dejavu is a favorite album.). Japanese song: Spotlight. Bsides: Underwater (hands down favorite), Crazy In Love, UR, Night View... Soooooo many.

So here's what happened with Wonho (it got long, sorry lol!):
Basically, this girl (G1) he had been friends with pre-debut started publicly nagging on him, saying he owed her money and why hadn't he paid her back blah blah blah. And then this other girl (G2)--who is *known* for trying to screw up idols careers (T.O.P, Hanbin, tried to go for V as well)--who is friends with G1 decided to get involved and started saying that Wonho had bought weed from her and used it and even tried to say he'd been in juvenile detention when he was younger.
G2's story was complete and utter bullshit. The lies were incredibly transparent, she had no proof, etc. And G1's story was also suspicious, especially when included with everything else.
But the whole thing was blowing up and so, to save the public image of Monsta X, Wonho decided (by himself, without consulting the company or other members) to leave the group on October 31 2019. This was, obviously, a huge awful shock to monbebe and the other MX members. Monbebe spent MONTHS tweeting and trending hashtags and korean fans went directly to the company to protest outside.
In March of 2020, Wonho was cleared of all the charges (because duh there wasn't anything to charge him *with*) and literally just over 2 years ago, he signed with Highline to start his solo career.
And well, here we are now! Monsta X is doing incredibly well as 6, and Wonho is doing amazing as a soloist. So while obviously we'd all prefer they were together, this is probably the best outcome we were ever going to get.

basically a lot of lies (SERIOUS LIES) about wonho so he decided to leave the group, because the group could be affected. And yes everything was cleared and he did nothing what people were saying he did (i hate this situation so much) . To the fans they will be always 7 .
Wonho has said a few times that he has no preference in gender when it comes to having a romantic relationship. Queer sexuality is heavily censored for kpop idols in Korea but every now and then MX has sprinkled in just a bit of queer representation in their work, and sometimes hint in a very small volume that they are queer themselves: in one of their music videos called All In, it is largely believed that Hyungwon and Minhyuk are a couple. In I.M’s God Damn solo music video, he lays on a bed with both men and women sleeping around it, which may imply that they all did the dirty deed just a few hours before. Either way, Monsta X is very comfortable and positive with the LGBTQIA+ community and also very comfortable in the way they identify, which makes me so happy as a queer person to watch them grow.
I say this with nothing but love. You don’t have to post it, but I wish you would dive deeper into Korean culture.

wonho is actually kind of out as bi/pan, the person who (unfortunately) caused him to leave the group with the rumors was his ex and even though she indentifies as a woman now, she identified as a transman when they were dating (i believe she started transitioning too). he also said that gender doesn't really matter to him when it comes to his ideal type (as long as they can make good ramen lol). so yea he's one of us
