Friday Night Funkin' is an open-source rhythm game released on Newgrounds in 2020. The game is developed by a small group called The Funkin' Crew Inc., which consists of Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution, PaRappa the Rapper, and the "Dance Contest" minigame from Club Penguin, and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games.The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s. The game revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of opponents in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. Gameplay involves hitting notes with timed inputs while avoiding running out of health for the duration of the song. The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam on October 5, 2020. An expanded demo was released on November 1, 2020, with updates continually released in the following months. A full version of the game backed by Kickstarter, titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game, is in development. Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game in which the player controls a character called Boyfriend, who must defeat a series of opponents in order to continue dating his significant other, Girlfriend. The player must pass multiple levels, referred to as "weeks" in-game, containing three songs each. Each week, the player faces a different opponent, though some deviate in structure from this via the inclusion of multiple opponents. During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes (represented as arrows) which the player must then mirror by using the arrow keys or the W, A, S, and D keys. Some songs introduce more complicated patterns, with the player's pattern sometimes varying from the opponent's or both singers engaging in a duet. For each week, the player has the option to select one of three difficulties: Easy, Normal, or Hard. As the difficulty increases, the speed of incoming arrows increases, and the patterns of arrows become more complex. The player's high score for each week on each difficulty is tracked and shown in the top corner of the week selection screen. The game contains two different modes of play: a story campaign in which songs are played linearly, and a "free play" mode which allows for free selection of any of the game's music tracks.

EXE was an entity that has its origins sprout from the original X, before his first appearance in 2011. Unlike the latter, EXE was not an entity that hails from the VOID directly, rather was one of X’s experiments with creating a new form of life, based off his own matter from the void, technically making them related by blood. Despite this, EXE did not agree with the objectives of his predecessor, wishing to overthrow him for the sake of his own goals. EXE had a vision for humanity and all other life. Lord X, however, did not take too kindly to his insubordination. With lordship among his guardians, X cast out EXE for rebelling, believing him to be simply getting in the way of his “fun”. EXE ended up banished to another universe, another Earth.
Weakened from the confrontation with X, EXE had to find a way to preserve his being. EXE did so by using a disc of a Sonic ROM, to build his own realm off the appearances and likenesses of the "Sonic the Hedgehog" game. EXE’s realm is anchored to the disc, and any of its copies. Soon, some people were able to discover these games, and that’s how EXE was able to seize his prey and start to build himself back up. Since then, he’s nurtured his own cult to support his crooked plans for all humanity, and perhaps much, much more.

I’m late to the party, but I’d love to say I really love how fakers voice is low. Bonoan and you wrote some good lyrics as well! The art was absolutely epic! And I love how demonic his chanting was at the end of the video, pretty scary.

I love the differences about EXE, like his arms being blue, his eyes not being connected, his shoes not having buckles or stripes, his cuffs and gloves being a darker tone, his shoes being a darker tone, and the blood around his eyes which is from his struggle to keep them from going all black

Shit, I’m late. Anyways, this is an impressive video. The lyrics do they’re job, the lyrics are good, and the art is great, but what made me in awe was the final seconds, the lyrics and voice acting were phenomenal. I really love how the lyrics in the end, there were some references to Juno Songs’s Triple Trouble with Lyrics and Sayo’s Too Slow with lyrics.
