That spacers is pretty genius how it tipped the whole motor forwards! Made alot more room than I expected! Brian is doing an excelent job on the wiring harness too! The engine bay is turning out fantastic! I don't have have anything smart to say today! Just excited to see every ounce of progress!
I've been watching your videos from day one with this corolla, and these videos just resonate with me so much! And this is my first time commenting lol. the passion when you said the car is just a metal box that you collect all your parts that you've ever wanted, i felt that ! reminds me and my 180sx here in the states ! and also its false when you said "talking to nobody" because its amazing seeing your visions upbringing, love the progress neil !
That engine bay is looking super clean, your man's done some great work with the loom there! Great update on all the various bits, seems you also get more done when there's not heaps of people in the shed :D
I feel your pain. Been welding an old Lancia Fulvia for 3 years now. Bodywork sorted and on to the rebuild. I love seeing the progress come along...and ten equally get saddened with the idea of this being finished...what the hell will we do without the 86 build! 🙂
Is that a mint looking red roadster hiding on the lift in the back of the shed. The progress and work going into your build has really motivated to sort my project out and finish it properly which means re doing a lot of "temporary" fixes that have been made since i got it. cant stop ordering cool/weird parts from japan now for it. taken me over a year to identify some mirrors i saw in a blurry photo on google of a roadster outside car make corns. finally ordered them today. Keep up the good work!
Man its turning out so good, I remember seeing the very first episode in my recommended tab when it released I've heard comments help videos or something so I'll say thank you for getting me obsessed with Micras I almost bought a Ford instead lmao
Love the videos. Loom looks sick, cant wait for the car to be together. Just a word of warning about heat wrapping your header. IF you get any moisture in the wrap it can completly fuck your header to the point of failure. This is also true of stainless headers as well. If you want to mange heat somewhat, a ceramic coating would probably be a safter option. Up to you of course, just something to consider.
We ended up going a completely different route with the headers, these were cracked in too many places after we ran them through a few heat cycles. I just bought something new instead.
Flip dodged a bullet with the paint, our friend Jackie Fitz asked to paint my car long before I had it, and he wants to honour that offer. So we met in the middle and got as much as we could do in our shed.
Ahh every week it seems to get closer and closer, can’t wait to see it running! Also any news on the book or dvd of Japan? Feel the need to treat myself aha
Heads up regarding the radiator fan: You need a shroud for it so that the fan can draw air through the entire radiator, not just the tiny area covered by the fan
I used a frost plug to blank off the distributor hole, that might save you some room, cheap and worked great, its been in there for 10 years now. Can't remember the diameter.
Awesome vid guys. Only just found your channel. So much better then those douche bags at throtl that are more interested in filming themselves talking then actually filming what they are actually doing
Always wondered lad whats the story with the shed? Do use all chip into the rent and pay for a spot? And what does everyone work at? everyone seems to be serious handy that brian fella has to be a mechanic?
Is it me or your valve cover is broken between the itbs and the timing belt/intake cam? I was just curious if that’s how they are or if it’s broken ! That’s totally not a hate comment, i was just asking but i love what you are doing, it amaze me how far this ae86 came from 😋
I wonder, were you going to hunt down the original interior bits? Or gonna leave the interior out? Either way, excited to see it almost done! I remember seeing my first episode 2 or 3 years ago!
as someone who *actually* has OCD, please stop using my mental illness as a way to say ‘tidy’. it’s massively hurtful to us with OCD because it’s not about being tidy or symmetrical, that’s actually the least common type of OCD. it paints a picture that everyone is a little OCD which isn’t true, that it’s just a word you can use when you mean tidy or nit picky and that every person with OCD is super tidy or needs things to be tidy to their standard which isn’t true.
isnt the "distributor on the back is too big" problem the reason people always cut the firewall? you can probably cut it and make like a little box to go over where you cut so its not a hole. basically recess(move back)that spot where its usually cut. barry could probably do some cool shit with it
hahaha nope! I left that in just so I can look back and laugh in years to come. Oh how naive I was! that was September 2020 too, its 2022 now and I'm still hoping to have it painted soon 😅😅
not throwin a dig or anything but i thought this car was done sat in the shed tbh cause i know your a good bit behind on the vidjoes good to see it coming along tho hope to see it at japfest this year
I am so hyped with the build Neil , cant wait to see her running.
We have a first start video coming up in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to getting that out there.
@@juiceboxforyou awesome can't wait😁 that will be some milestone to reach!
Brian's a bit of a wizard. What a man
Love the build! Inspired me to build my own itbs for my b16a swapped ef sedan!
That sounds epic man, you cant beat that four throttle sound
been here since day 1 and cant believe that this footage is from summer so it excites me to know that this thing is probably either done or near done
Can we just appreciate for a moment how beautiful this engine looks. Love you guys. ❤️🤙🏼🔰
Been here since day one we’re almost there my boys can’t wait
Hopefully this year all going well

hahaha fact! Yeah man Bryan is a tidy man when it comes to this stuff, and he prefers less distractions to actually get work done.
been here since the first ae86 restoration video and im so excited to see when its all done!!
Yeah buddy! She's so close! It's exciting!

Ill have to build another misery Machine! Cheers for sticking with us
Now I really can't wait for the return of Barry, cus when he's there it means the car is running and driving :).
Great idea with the 10mm spacer. Look forward to seeing the start up.
Cheers John
Been watching for years, excited to see this thing running. Hearing the Star Trek Voyager opening at the end definitely threw me off
Haha bit of a random ending tbh
WE LOVE TO SEE IT!
Can't wait for your first rings laaaddd in the rebuilt yoke!
Nothing beats a joint and some juicebox banter 🙌🏼
Love watching this build slowly take shape
Same! Hopefully have it on the road this year.
Such a cool build! Didn't think about needing a more powerful battery when it's further away. Might have to upgrade mine. 🤔🔰

That's pretty awesome man, glad the videos have helped you sink deeper down the rabbit hole! Keep us posted on the build.
happy bois happy bois
such a chill video for a change ahah
Getting closer.
Hey Neil. If you pull the heater core out and rotate it so the outlets are downwards you should have clearance.
Keep up the good work boys
Cheers man, we bent them a little and it just about worked for now!

Im still here bro! Loving it!! Sound well lad!
Jaysus.... Is flip not gonna paint it? Stunned. She's coming on sham.
Flip dodged a bullet with the paint, our friend Jackie Fitz asked to paint my car long before I had it, and he wants to honour that offer. So we met in the middle and got as much as we could do in our shed.
Hope Brian knows his work is appreciated. Doubt he reads comments but doing engine looms is not for the faint of hearted. Special skills
Yeah man, he's an asset to the friend group.
That's some clean looming .... nice!
Loved the up to speed bro.
Thank you.
Has been similar weather here in Aus too
DEJAVU I HAVE BEEN THIS PLACE BEFORE
HIGHER ON THE STREET AND I KNOW ITS MY TIME TO GO
Love the colours on the engine
Cheers, we went for a similar look for the final product.
She’s coming on rightly, excited to see the finished product 😁
Brilliant looks so good
Had all the same issues with my 20v ae71s, however I didn't need a heater at all where I live so that was easier.
I wish I could say the same, its too humid / damp here to remove them
looking amazing cant wait to see this car done
keep up the good work I look forward to each video you make on this build
Cheers Robert.

Very soon we are relaunching the store, hopefully, I can get the book sorted soon, just trying to find suppliers here is proving a pain.
Oohhh it looks so good
Getting there now, excited to show the first start in a couple of weeks
@@juiceboxforyou I'm so excited to see it move on its own power

Its a nice look

@@bryanduggan yes 😅
I need to work on my Duggy, motivation is not strong over here haha.
I used Landrover discovery dual AC fans on my AE86 they fit and work mint!
Now that the engine is raised at the back the front cambelt cover might clear the bonnet
Sadly not! Thought that might have worked
Mondays always made better by the craic
exciting stuff
nice. the loom. oh god. ill pray for you.
Light two candles
I thought that thing was a bird table but like a gazebo or park pavillion for birds.

Well spotted. It's a broken one that came with the car, at the time of this video I had another one purchased.
I wonder, were you going to hunt down the original interior bits? Or gonna leave the interior out? Either way, excited to see it almost done! I remember seeing my first episode 2 or 3 years ago!
I'm keeping it stripped in the rear, interior bits will be upfront, with a potential carpet install, ill see how things go.
@@juiceboxforyou Cool! Good luck!
lol used voyager intro music at the end there
Using CAD i see, (cardboard aided design)
great work so far, need a set of those mats for my mk1b mr2 where do you get them

So this was done just be for September is the car done now then would love to see it running
The car is far from done, but it's getting there.
Would you need a small heat sheild between so the plastci cap wont melt ?
isnt the "distributor on the back is too big" problem the reason people always cut the firewall? you can probably cut it and make like a little box to go over where you cut so its not a hole. basically recess(move back)that spot where its usually cut. barry could probably do some cool shit with it
It will work once you dont have a distributor cap and are running individual coils and a bit of self clearancing on the heater core pipes
What does josh do
Not very much
❤️❤️❤️❤️
What colour are you going to paint the cam covers?
Candy Blue
Do you think this car will be pushing in 2022? Keep on pushing!!!
Thats the plan!
Can you rebraze the one heater outlet on pointing down?
We thought about it, in the end, we just bent them back out of the way.
the Toyota ae86 trueno is the same as the Toyota twin cam?
Yes, they call them twincams in ireland
Did it ever make it to paint in September😅
