Fantastic, Justin, as always. Loving seeing a peek at your process in painting. Can't wait to see how you tackle the tartans on the Highlanders. Very exciting!

Nice one mate. Soz can’t help much with the paint. Maybe try putting another coat of slightly darker red over the top?

Hi Justin those chasseurs look fantastic I'm sure the Highlanders will be just as good. I have been envolved with art most of life and never have I come across two primary colours reacting like this , I have tried this just to see if I got the same result and I didn't so I can only assume that somewhere in the production of gold's paint that a chemical has accidentally been added to achieve this result. I would start again and toss the spray can in the bin.

Cheers Terry ,I've resprayed my last battalion of french light grey, and thrown the spray away,I'm trying so hard to not start the Highlanders, untill my french are finished

Nice work Justin. I am not an expert but i think montana gold is a graffiti paint company. You can actually get transfers for the kilts for victrix highlanders.

Cheers Anthony,I never heard of the transfers before

They are a bit pricey but you get the kilt and the checkers for the socks and designed to fit victrix. Might be worth investing in one battalion or something? Too pricey for the whole lot. I brought some graffiti paints a while ago to paint mdf buildings as they give better coverage than regular acrylic. I remember seeing mantana gold i am sure of it. It was cheap too the cans i brought were under £4 each.

@@basicminiaturepainting Battle Flag do the transfers , but only for 6 of the figures . £3 for a sheet of 5 per body in two tartan patterns

The old guard are looking good Justin. Highlanders are the next logical step! Do you know which regiments you will be doing as some highlanders are very interesting in their history.
Sorry cant help on the paint front, except give the read a proper good shake (like longer than normal) in case it separated? That has happened to me so the paint acted like a wash.

That is so weird that the paint would turn colors like that...has to be some kind of chemical reaction if I had to venture a guess.

Nice update. The drummer looks very impressive! Looking forward to seeing your progress with the Highlanders! Are you building the units with any particular rules in mind?
