Thanks for a great classic and such a wonderful couple !! that actually show that love and respect for each other is how to make a good marriage!! Not like shows now days so full sex and self pity and PC crap no time left for the story lol! So thanks you tube ! Everyone please love and hug the people and pets you know TODAY!!!! before its gone????
Barbara Britton, another beautiful lady from the '50's I had a crush on; others included Veronica Lake and Lizabeth Scott. Thank you for uploading these I really enjoyed these back in the good old days.
Rhonda, you are making your statement about the scene being "corney" from your standpoint today. The next time you watch a TV show from that era, remember they were cranking these out week after week after week, often with original music. SMILE.
Wait until 50 years from now, listen to how corny (at best!) today's shows are going to seem to young audiences. They'll call The X-Files CHEESY. I can't imagine it, but they will!
I had never heard of this television series. I would have thought my parents would like it, but If they had, I'd remember it. It must have come on at the same time as Wagon Train ("Head 'em up move 'em out," as Daddy called it) or something like that, maybe even The Twilight Zone. I even have memories of what shows my parents refused to watch, like Dobie Gillis. They wouldn't watch Father Knows Best or Leave it to Beaver. But Mr. and Mrs. North just draws me a blank. I love this series and am going to watch every episode at least once.
Head em, move ‘em out was Rawhide….Gil Favor trail boss uttered those words at the end of every show. The wagon master on wagon train used to give the hand signal to move out a yell wagons ho! I liked your comment , I was 5 at the time of these shows and remember we never got to watch them because of the violence ( and my father was a real G-Man, he worked for Mr. Hoover….we had a family portrait done with Mr. Hoover). I am just glad my parents can’t see what tv offers us now, drivel even without violence!
Originally telecast on NBC on March 9, 1954. Opposite them, on CBS, was Edward R. Murrow's famous "SEE IT NOW" expose on Senator Joseph McCarthy {"The actions of the junior senator from Wisconsin has caused alarm and dismay amongst our allies, and given considerable comfort to our enemies. And whose fault is that? Not really his. He didn't create this situation of fear, he merely exploited it- and rather successfully. Cassius was right: 'The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars.....but in ourselves'. Good night, and good luck."}.

Love those old phone booths where you had privacy. The large booths were great for rainy days. Now we have a phone stuck on a glass frame no door just open space and noise. So sad 😢😢😢
There was only 1 film from 1942 starring Gracie Allen and William Post Jr. as detectives Pam and Jerry North; but there were 57 episodes of the TV adaption starring Barbara Britton and Richard Denning from 1952 to 1954. All were based on the characters created by Richard Lockridge in the 1930s, and then featured in 26 novels by Mrs. & Mr. Lockridge.
the opening sequence was NORMAL for the day - the traditional roles for man and woman / she did this and he did that....it was key that the guys thought the gals ditzy and the gals had all the answeres. And the decency codes required twin beds and major jammies even for proper old married couples, and the mid-century styles in fashion and interior design were typical of series in the mid fifties...fun. We wore play frocks for casual times and hats and gloves and detailed tailoring in our dresses and day suits and there were no jeans except on cowboys. This show is not being wierd - it's how things WERE.
This episode is just magnificent! Touching, amazing, with a good idea: "Whatever I can do, we can do better!"

Slim Jim, Ms. Britton was the most photographed model of her era according to Wikipedia. Happy viewing from Las Vegas, NV December 15, 2018
Casting directors were kinder to you boys back then than to us girls.

In 2016 a bomb in a black bag aboard an airplane is our reality!!! Security now is a lot different than it was then. How sad our world has become.

@@653j521 Shocking sad information.
It seems that bomb disposal techniques have changed over the years.

@@PizzaFLIX Thanks double ...
This series has got to have the weirdest, most unrealistic opening sequence ever.
the opening sequence was NORMAL for the day - the traditional roles for man and woman / she did this and he did that....it was key that the guys thought the gals ditzy and the gals had all the answeres. I find the intro enticing and exceptional.
