    KoRn is freaking amazing!!! There would be no Slipknot without Korn. Corey Taylor has said one of his top metal albums is KoRn's selftitled album. Also some good songs off of Issues you should check out Make Me Bad or Somebody Someone.

    This song really needs the video to be fully appreciated. The video is powerful and was actually directed by Fred Durst.
    Notes: Korn is Numetal, infact the term was coined for them. This is Korns 4th Album and it was absolutely massive at the time. During the time this Album dropped they were probably the biggest band in the world.

    • @GravelBone367
      @GravelBone367 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JackCarver10 I don’t think I’m trying to make an apples to apples comparison of the overall sound of the song. Rather I’m saying, if you like strong hooks There’s songs in their catalog that are stronger in that department than others. Or should I say there’s more of an emphasis on a strong hook then another songs. Some of their songs are thought-provoking. Some of their songs are not. Some of the songs are just powerful sounding. Korn has a lot to offer depends on what you’re looking for. I think “falling away from me” is one of the stronger hooks. So is “coming undone” as is “ twisted transistor”

      @@GravelBone367 Okay, I can't dictate something that I don't see objectively because I'm more of a sound guy than a "structure" guy. I'll give you that. Of course I love progressive music like Tool and such, but KoRn for me are all about the sound and feel of it. Just my own taste. Guess I don't have a say in this discussion.

    I know I'm late to the party, but this song is HEAVY, in it's sound and in it's lyrics, holy shit, it really brings you to that darker place, this is one of those musics that I feel it's so powerful that I have to "respect it", I have it in my mind and soul, but I rarely listen to it, cuz it seems to change something around you, or inside.

    The fact that Korn's music can be appreciated by listeners/musicians of all different genres really speaks to their musicianship and longevity. These songs from 20+ years ago still absolutely slap and go so hard to this day. These mfers literally invented and pioneered an entire genre.
    They have been consistent in their output and remained true to their core audio aesthetic, while still evolving and developing. I've been a fan since 07', when I was fifteen, so I was a little late to the party, but regardless of how my tastes have developed and fluctuated, I always come back to their discography time and time again.
    It's amazing to see them having somewhat of a renaissance at the moment, and to see their music reaching more people.

    Marilyn Manson has actually *replaced* Jonathan Davis' own vocals on the song 'Redeemer' by Jonathan Davis from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. Jon's version was still in the movie, but due to contractual reasons wasn't allowed to appear on its own, like 4 other songs on there. Jonathan Davis then asked five different singers to record his lyrics on his five songs in order to replace his vocals. Among them were Chester Bennington from Linkin Park and Marilyn Manson. I'd like if you could do a "double react" or comparison of both songs to judge which take you liked the most.

    I got to know them from South Park. The entire band was featured in a Halloween episode (season 3, ep 10), and they played this song in the end.
    The episode was about people being fear mongered into thinking that metal music and celebrating Halloween were the reason for their misfortune in order to turn them into an angry mob against anything they don't understand. It was also a parody episode of Scooby Doo which was hilariously done and had some REALLY dark humor, even to their standards. 100% worth a watch for anyone who hasn't seen it.

      Have you listened to The Nothing? Bad ass Korn. Back to roots. Also, I would challenge the thought that their music ever "dropped". It evolved. It changed. Some liked it. Some didn't. Artists cannot stick to 1 sound and continually produce new music. The sound gets tweaked to evolve. Who has more different sounds over the years than Korn?

    One of the great things about Korn and part of the reason they sound so different is they are one of the few bands in the last 50 some odd years to not use blues chords/progressions in their music. Rock & Metal are both children of the blues and it's great, but these folks took a different path and it's also great.

    Korn and Manson havn't done a song together BUT Jonathan Davis wrote songs for the film Queen of the Damned (which he had members of Korn come in an lay tracks on) In the movie Jonathan Davis does the vocals, but for the official soundtrack release, they had guest vocalists come in and sing for these tracks including Chester Bennington, David Draimen, Wayne Static and our friend Marilyn Manson did vocals for the song Redeemer.
    So techincally not, BUT it might as well be a Korn/Manson collab

    Esse Rios aka Mr Aguilar aka Papi Chulo He was a light heavyweight champion and was basically if you went by his look a Mexican HBK. And yes he was paired with Lita when she first came in to give him a mouthpiece but she got over far more than he did then joined with her friends the Hardy’s after they saved her from one of his outbursts before she split from him
