@@terebus41 In my band it means first trombones play really goddamn loud (With a good sound) Sometimes the director just points at us and tells it to play it again with a silly grin on his face and he giggles every time we do it
You must be a non musician. It's not fast at all. He uses a technique called double tonguing, which is tonguing using alternating syllables. Brass musicians can tongue much faster than that.
@@austinhernandez2716 I can assure you i am a musician, considering i play a similar instrument (euphonium). Double tounging involves "ta-ca" or "too-coo" (from how i was taught). While double tounging still improves tounging vastly, increasing the speed of the individual syllables still helps. Also, ofc a french horn would be impressive to me bc it is harder to tongue on bigger instruments such as mine.
@@metroidfan220 perhaps i was misinformed, tho i was taught that it is easier to tongue on a trumpet rather than, say, on a tuba. Maybe not tho, my bad
I had the absolute honor to be in the USM Wind Ensemble that performed with Boston Brass when they played that piece. Thank y’all for coming out, everyone sounded amazing!
Man I wish I was playing a more professional version like this in my band, I started trumpet very recently and I am doing a version of this in my jazz two that is just not the same. Sounds Fire 🔥
It’s at this moment I bet this French horn player wanted a trumpet 😂 I’m just kidding. I played trumpet my whole life then played Mello one year for college marching band and this was the piece we played. Gotta admit it was one of those moments I wanted my trumpet back. Loved marching horn tho! It was great.
dude; how do you get the high notes to sound so good and clear? i can hit a high g at highest, but when it still sounds like a dying frog. i need tips!!
“You know what to do here” means two different things if you’re high brass or low brass. Sounds killer.
Well I do know that Chris’ octave key is also killing it. ;) WOW
Yeah, fr
As a bone player, I have no clue what it means.

Bro the speed in which he tongues those bits notes is JUST INSANE
Double tongued. Makes it a lot easier. Tricky but easier than single

Euphonium player here for 20+ years. This is the first I'm hearing of tonguing being more difficult on larger instruments.
