The plays from ruler were pretty outdated but expected. The heavy storm was probably what won ruler game 1 .
Salads vs Chaos isn't hard to decide. Salads can play out of the GY if they have to, but ultimately, they have easy negation and disruption. Don't LET them resolve CED... My vote is for Salamangreat.

Back Jack wasn't the hero Paleo deserved but the hero they needed.

The Chaos deck may be kinda outdated, but it still has a lot of broken cards in it and you can Yatta lock with it
You need to go 2nd if you want to yata lock your opponent and considering you facing Salamangreat i doubt yata lock can happen as salamangreat have hand traps and they also have monster effect that activated in GY.
yata lock is not that great, chaos had better take every single card or else salads will have such an easy time locking chaos out of anything. also chaos going second will not be able to handle salad in the least.

Dragon rulers are such a great engine but with that much of explosive power, the end board is kinda garbage. It's sad, only if they had access to a card like PSY Framelord Omega they would be truly fearsome.
Yeah at the time every deck was kinda bad so their explosive power made them to the top but the deck itself right now would be a pile of trash. The only reason they can't unban them is Dragon Link

Well bad is relative. A 2005 board would've looked bad in 2013, just like a 2013 board looks bad today. But yeah in today's format this kind of boards would be underwhelming.
However if brought back today they would be far from a pile of trash, though they wouldn't be nearly as overwhelming as when they first appeared, I've tested them they'd still be quite good. Not tier 1 imo but they'd hold their own with access to modern cards.
@@mohamedabdallah1235 Imo Dragon Link Rulers would be Tier 1. They would have the power of modern Dragon Link and 3x consistency thanks to the Dragon Rulers to make plays through handtraps. I can already see 60 card builds, honestly now I wanna give it a try in Dueling Book against some friends

It’s more of other decks that’d abuse the dragon rulers more then a dragon ruler deck itself being over powered, like Tidal cannot come back like ever

@@bobulator66 I fucking don't. I have an IRL fobia of frogs and a deep seated hatred of them in this game. The limiting of toad was the best thing that happened this year.

So many misplays, plus kept tryna go for draccosack all the time instead of just using the rulers as beatsticks
The mirror force was set during battle phase so he couldn't use his battle phase that turn, whats really what mattered
This might not follow cross banlist tournament rules but you should think about doing dragon rulers but giving them access to current cards to see how they fair. At this point for multiple tournaments we’ve seen dragon rulers just can’t keep up with new age cards. It’d be cool to see them running like needfiber, psy frame omega, savage dragon, red eyes flare metal. Maybe even some main deck cards? That might be to much but I’m just sitting here thinking what if we gave them a normal summon like jet synchron for needle fiber plays or make invoked rulers...that just sounds cool lol

why didnt u side decked x3 legendary ocean and x3 royal decree? paleo cant do shit against that they cant xyz summon because all monsters levels got reduce to 1 and royal decree shuts down all traps.

I want Chaos to win but Salas powecreep and consistency is insane, Salas 3-2.
Salamangreat 3-1 over Chaos. Salads are probably the most balanced and versatile archetype in Yugioh History.

Talk about Backjack being so clutch during this whole duel. Though I am curious of how Paleos will handle MR5 decks moving forward cause their power crept cards.
Next match up, Salamangreats are the most likely favored to win this match up with built in protection from Beylynx, but never underestimate Chaos with all those banned cards.

The Rank 7 pool could use an update. Big Eye is great and Dracossack is still fine, but they've only gained like 1 or 2 new great Rank 7s in Flare Metal and Dark Armed since Dragon Ruler days and we no longer have Tomahawk. Hopefully we get a modern Rank 7 that's super good.
In game 3 couldn't you have just destroyed the Mirror Force with Dracossack? He couldn't activate any of the Lost Winds because they were just set so I'm not sure what was stopping you from doing that.
True! On the other hand, one lost wind less, makes one less paleo, but at that moment, the 3 lost winds were too much...

Really sad to see Rulers go out like this but not surprising because Paleo Frogs just have more resources and setups to retain a powerful board, though Backjack did come in super clutch those last couple of games holy cow.

I feel sorry for rulers, that was a dirty sucker punch from Backjack but it all happened due That delicious top deck "That Grass just looks greener" which makes wish either to keep that card banned or to bring it back to three ...
For the next match, the heart says Chaos and the logic picks Salamangreat, and we all I will choose Old Chaos

Is it too early in the year to start asking for a pre-2013 CBC? As for the next 94 matches, newer decks win 3-1 because power creep post 2012 is stupid (aside from 2014 - that year wasn’t based purely in HERP DERP IM BROKEN OTK).

Im going with Salad for the next match, they have too much recursion for Yata lock to really matter most of the time, so Yata looks a lot more harmful to Chaos than helpful
u often said Dragon Ruler used its GY has a second hand, but Paleozoic somewhat do the same if they go for Grass Looks Greener.

Back jack hard carrying the game on his back. Game 2 and 3 were won off of him sacking mirror and canadia to stop the dragon ruler otk. On paper Salaman Great should have an easy 3-0 but chaos has shown in the past that power creep means nothing to it.
I was really hoping Rulers would pull through but alas i guess it wasn't meant to be. Considering a game with triple maxx c and super rejuvination, and yet they still lost. Next match, logic would say Salads 3-1 but i'm rooting for Chaos 3-2. I have a soft spot for it after all this time.
