    3:51 How to Recover Data from a Corrupted Flash Drive?
    When it comes to flash drives, data corruption can occur for a variety of reasons for various reasons. The following are some of the most often occurring causes:
    Malware or viruses: If your flash drive becomes infected with malware or a virus, it can lead to the corruption of data or possibly the loss of data. Power surges: If your computer encounters an unexpected power surge or loss while your flash drive is plugged into it, it can cause harm to the drive and lead to the corruption of the data stored on it.
    Physical damage: If your flash drive takes any kind of physical damage, including being dropped or being wet, this might lead to corruption or possibly make the drive unusable.
    Incorrect removal: It's possible for data corruption to occur if you remove your flash drive from your computer while files are still being copied to it while the drive is still plugged in.
    File system errors: It's possible that your flash drive could experience file system errors at some point, which would cause it to become corrupted and your data to become inaccessible.
    The USB flash drive can hold all your data files, just like a traditional hard disk. A wide range of potential causes for a USB flash drive to become corrupted or unreadable, resulting in the data stored on the drive becomes inaccessible. If you incorrectly unplug the drive from the USB port, it could result in data corruption. The directory structure on the USB drive, MBR, or PBR, could get corrupted as a result of the data corruption.
    Follow the steps in this video to solve your flash drive issues and restore the data on the USB device.

    Chicken and Egg: USB is un-recognised and displays no Drive Letter. Just gets rejected and does not display on 'This PC' or in 'Disk Management'. So how do you do it then? All the Tutorials assume you can see a Drive Letter/the USB, which simply issues a Yellow rejection notice near the Tray. A CMD command might work, but again all the 'solutions' assume a Drive Letter is known.

    • @geraldthorburn1123
      @geraldthorburn1123 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Muyawa I tried absolutely everything. Combed YT, combed the web, but in the end it seemed clear that without the ability to access the Drive Letter I had ascribed (hidden now, of course) to the flash drive, it was impossible. I have posted Feedback to MS, suggesting they introduce a 'fix' in Control Panel. But meantime, I had to ditch the drive. It was only 8Gb and the data on it was not critical (some Music mp3's). I now believe the corruption occurred when I removed it too promptly from my In Car Player. (I now take more care and switch to the Radio, before removing).
      Note he says, when discussing 'Recoverit', that you have to choose 'the relevant Drive' (Letter). This skirts the problem. The drive was 'unrecognised' by Control Panel, even after formatting. So his solution is no better than all the others I tried.

      Hi there, thank you for your question! first, assign a drive letter if necessary using Disk Management. Then, run the Windows Check Disk utility (chkdsk) with the /f option to repair file system errors. Afterward, recover any crucial data if accessible and proceed to format the flash drive using Windows Explorer, choosing the appropriate file system (NTFS or FAT32). If the drive remains inaccessible, it may have hardware issues.If all else fails you can try using data recovery software such as Recoverit

      They all do it as advertising the recovery software which in most cases never ever recovers the directory structure as it was on the device before it lost the file system info and just random scans for file types which can be completely useless, including deleted and truncated files making recovery a mess.. Decent software recovers the actual file and directory structure as it was.. none of these recovery software does that.. almost worse than useless..

      Hi there, thank you for your question. The error message you're encountering indicates that the "clean" command, which is used in DiskPart to remove all partitions and volumes from a disk, is not allowed on the disk containing the current boot, system, pagefile, crashdump, or hibernation volume. This restriction is in place to prevent accidental data loss on the active system disk.

      Hi there, thank you for your question! Check and repair the disk for errors using the chkdsk command. For example, to check and fix the D: drive, type chkdsk D: /f /r and press Enter. You may need to check the file system of the partition you are trying to format. Some file systems, such as FAT32, have limitations on the size of the partition. To format a large partition, you may need to use a different file system, such as NTFS or exFAT

    what if my memory space has decreased somehow and i have to mend it, how to do that sir?

    • @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
      @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, thank you for your question! Start by deleting any unnecessary files, including old documents, images, videos, or other files that are taking up space but are no longer needed. Make sure to empty the trash or recycle bin on your computer to permanently remove deleted files and free up space. Consider using a compression tool to compress large files on the flash drive to reduce their size without losing any data. Most operating systems have a built-in disk cleanup tool that can help you free up space on your flash drive by scanning the drive for temporary files, system files, and other items that can be safely removed. If none of the above methods work, you may need to format the flash drive. However, keep in mind that formatting will erase all data on the drive, so backup any important files before doing so.

I would recommend making sure all your USB drivers are up to date, try a different port on your PC and make sure there isn't any issue with the USB potentially causing connection issues. IF you tried everything in the video it might be an issue with the USB itself. I would also recommend going to disk management and making sure it doesn't appear then and just needs to be assigned a drive letter.

    • @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
      @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, thank you for your question. The error message "Virtual Disk Service error: There is no media in the disk" typically indicates an issue with the Virtual Disk Service (VDS) in Windows. This error can be related to problems with disk management, and it might affect your ability to detect or access storage media. Here are some steps you can try to address this issue:
      Check Physical Connections:
      Ensure that the affected disk (whether it's a hard drive, SSD, or other storage device) is properly connected to your computer. If it's an external drive, try using a different USB port or cable.
      Check Disk Management:
      Open Disk Management by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Disk Management."
      Look for the disk that is experiencing the issue. If it's not initialized or has unallocated space, you may need to initialize it and create a new partition.

    • @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
      @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there, thank you for your question! Inspect the flash drive for any visible damage. Remove the outer cover if possible and check the USB connections on the board. Try Different USB Ports and Systems to make sure it isn't an issue with your computer. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator (press Windows + Q, type cmd, right-click on “Command Prompt,” and choose “Run as Administrator”) , type the following command: chkdsk X: /r /f (replace X with the drive letter of your USB drive), CHKDSK will scan for file system errors and bad sectors. If issues are found, it will attempt to fix them. Reinstall USB Drivers as a last option.

    My USB heats up when I insert it into the USB port. What does that mean?

    • @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
      @RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there, thank you for your question! If your USB flash drive is heating up when you insert it into the USB port, it could be due to a few reasons:
      1. **Normal operation**: It's not unusual for a USB flash drive to generate some heat during use, especially when transferring large files or performing intensive tasks. This heat is generated as a byproduct of electrical energy being used by the drive's components. As long as the temperature remains within a reasonable range and the drive functions properly, this may not be a cause for concern.
      2. **Poor heat dissipation**: Some USB flash drives may not have an efficient design for heat dissipation, causing them to heat up more than others. If the drive seems excessively hot, you might want to consider using a different USB flash drive with better heat dissipation properties.

      Hi there,
      If your external hard disk is not showing up in disk management, it's possible that there is an issue with the connection between the hard disk and your computer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
      Check the cable and connections.
      Check if the hard disk is spinning up.
      Check if the hard disk is recognized on another computer.
      Check the power supply.
      Try data recovery software. Download Recoverit here: bit.ly/3ZoowNK

Open the Command Prompt as an administrator type diskpart and press enter then, type list disk to see a list of connected disks. Identify your USB drive by its size select the USB drive by typing select disk # then to wipe the drive, enter "clean". Even if the USB drive shows “no media” and 0 bytes, that’s normal then exit out and press Windows key + R and type "diskmgmt.msc" then find the drive and select the new simple volume and follow all the steps.
