Isn't it loose because of the clutch plate wearing down and the gap is no longer the same? What about taking out one of the clutch plate washers? Just unscrew the middle bolt and you will find a few washers. I think it's only a temporary fix though since most likely the compressor is already getting old.
Hi there. At the begining of the video you mentioned 3 scenarios: - morning noise that's gone after 1min driving, - clanking noise that's always there, - loud engine noise (and I guess this one is one you're showing in video) How about those first two, what's the reason behind both of them? I just bough outlander, 2008, 200k km, and I my car is making big noise when accelerating (but super quiet when keeping speed) and when going uphill (steep one) it's starting to smell like burn rubber... I'm currently trying to find source. Anyway, thanks for your video, you're great guy with all the help! Wish you best!
Thanks mate for your positive feedback 😉 the first scenario possible cause is loose drive belt tension sometimes only need adjustment if it’s adjustable, if is self adjustable possible the belt tensioner 😉 just check also the belt if still ok 😉
On your scenario just double check also the belt tension 5 to 7mm is the preplay of the belt and do the things also on my video how to check the bearings 😉
Thank you sir for the information. These channels are worth their weight in gold 👍 Not that it matters that much in this case but would anyway be nice to know exactly which engine we are working on in the video. I assume this is the 2.0 diesel ?
@@oliverthemechanic8532 Ah. Ok. Thanks for the reply! But I guess it is quite similar for the Diesel? I have this kind of raw noisy sound above 2000rpm. It sounds so much like what you showed in the video. Or is the diesel just not as smooth and quiet as most modern diesels 🙄
@@Dani-it5sy same procedure mate to check on petrol or diesel if you have a stethoscopes that’s better also 😉 just message me what you found on your car maybe i can help 😉 thanks also for a positive message 😍
I’m experiencing engine noise recently with my 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander(146887miles). Every time I accelerate it makes a slightly loud humming noise then it goes away a little bit if I take my foot off the accelerator. When my foot is off, it sounds less loud, but has like a muffled grinding noise. I don’t know how to exactly express what is happening. Then today, my “service engine soon” light came on for a P0420 code. What do you think is wrong with my car?
Did you end up finding out what was wrong. I have one currently making a loud whining sound. Wasn’t the alternator I put new one on and noise stayed the same. Kinda sounds like that whining sound coming from timing chain location not 100% sure tho
Thanks mate for the positive feedback 😉 if i have a job like that i will make a video 😉 by the way you replace the whole cv axle or just only the cv boots?

Thank you for this Oliver, I’m having that exact noise, I replaced the AC compressor we have second hand unit last year and I suspect the bearing is gone I hear that same metal to metal noise 07 outlander. Does the whole unit need to be replaced?
Good day sir, Can I ask advise, my car is a 2011 lancer ex 2.0 Manual, I noticed theres a slight engine noise when accelrating in low rpm in gear 2, parang rough engine noise (ung parang sa jeep na tunog) pero nawawala na sya pg high rpm at mabilis na ung sasakyan, i find the sound annoying and make the car feels cheap. Any idea what causing the issue? Parts that was change was headers and exhaust.
why don't they make a replacement pulley? That is so dumb if they don't make one..Seems like a Huge waste of money replacing the complete Air Con compressor when it is just the pulley clutch.
Many thanks, this gave me an idea on how to troubleshoot noise in my car
Thanks mate for your positive feedback really appreciate your comments 🥰

P0420 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)".

is normal for the noise in going to the back?
Its a different problem mate if the noise is at the back 😉

How to fix that compressor? plz

It's called a serpentine belt
