- In this weeks video we investigate the Queens Bath house just outside Holyrood Palce at the bottom of the Royal Mile, heading towards Abbey Hill are of Edinburgh. We look at the history and try to figure out what it actually is. We also have a big announcement about a new member of Clan Broonford.

There used to be the original houses and shops across the road from the bath house I recall a off license to the left of the old police station where my Grandfather bought a bottle of Cherry liquor whisky ,I think there was a dagger found inside when the bath house was renovated ,urban legend said it was used in the murder of Ritzio .My mother used to take Tours round the Palace when she worked as a tour guide for SMT. Congratulations on the birth of your Daughter .

Usually this is something I would love to see and hear about. Yes it is nice and I work there was more story on it. But then you tell us kids Lillian is finally hear! Congratulations to you both! I walked by Holyrood and that little building when i was in Edinburgh. I also wondered what it was. I had no idea it was supposedly a bathhouse, i didn't see the plaque and i love reading plaques.

They never used pigeons to carry messages in the middle ages, that's quite a recent thing. What they did have dovecotes for is good. Pigeon pie yum yum!! Congrats on the baby guys!! Can't wait to visit Edinburgh again!

@@ClanBroonford apparently they were more likely to be used for food and as a source of saltpetre. Messanger pigeons have been used for 3000 years but they were not used in medieval England? (Not sure if this is true for the elite though? Abbey's and royal strongholds etc?) I'm sure if a pigeons homing ability was known about they would have been used for such. Maybe the knowledge was lost??
