This is a really good beginner friendly set up for Origins. Some things I would like to add, if I may, is that you can easily get away with just dumping all your attributes into magic since this build allows you to be an unkillable machine. I would also recommend taking Glyph of Repulsion, since when used in combination with Glyph of Paralysis creates a combo effect, in this case Paralysis Explosion, which causes a large AoE stun. You can get this so early on as well, which helps to make the game so much more manageable. Last thing to mention is that if you're new to the game and need to unlock Blood Mage from Redcliffe but don't want to go the mean route, you can make a save before "the deal" then take the deal which unlocks Blood Mage, reload your save before the choice was made and take which ever decision suits you best, since the game remembers you've unlocked the specialisation and you only need to do it once.
Yup I mostly agree with all of this, although with the stats I still do value getting constitution early to help survive a bit and still enough willpower to be able to sustain all the actives is obviously a must, I should’ve checked exactly what that breakpoint was. I also know people like glyph of repulsion combo but I just don’t really care much for it personally, I would add that as an option if I could though. This was my first video I made so it’s honestly probably my worst especially from a production pov, my new videos are getting much better. I will probably look at remaking this one in the future. For now I’m going to pin this comment I’m sure someone will find it useful.

0:20 Arcane Warriors still requires dexterity to hit so if you neglect dexterity towards the end game you'll be missing quite a bit. I learned that the hard way years ago.
Thank you, I have played Dragon Age Origins many times as a Dwarf Warrior on normal difficulty. I was hoping to continue playing as a Dwarf for Nightmare run but it seems I must give up that race even though they have the best beards lol
I always played this game as a two handed. Started this build actually found mage to be pretty fun fire ball was a blast. Then got arcane warrior at level 7 with flame blade and the other sustains and its crazy strong. Lvl 12 atm just finish the tower and got blood magic unlocked but need a few levels, thank you for the build.

I might go back and get all the classes eventually but I’m focused on Veilguard for now. I think my Leliana companion short I have on the video would be pretty much the same as what I would do on the main character.
Great video man it's good to see Origins still being kept alive after all this time ❤. In terms of equipment, would Maric' s blade and Cailens shield be the best? I know it gives you +5 Damage and mana regen but I read somewhere that the Veshialle axe does the most damage after 60 magic
Thanks! The build is so strong that you will basically be invincible by level 17ish everything after that is completely optional. Grabbing haste and spell wisp helps eke out a little extra damage so we grab those but after that it’s really completely up to you. For attributes I would most of into magic for the rest of the game.
@@Game_was_Rigged it’s extremely good at tanking so while you may not do alot of damage to him you can take some shots, just make sure you bring alot of potions and bring archer equipment for the dwarves so they are out of harms way while you take aggro.

For story related reasons I would recommend Morrigan, Alistair and Leliana/Zevran. For Zevran you could use the Assassin build I have on the channel, and you could use it for Leliana too but she doesn’t get Assassin for longer. Unfortunately I will not have a sheet or build quite ready for them for another week.

Do you have any recommendations for party composition through the stages of this game with this build? Playing for the first time. I tried playing a human noble but got a mage in my part and was like I'd much rather do a lot more of that. This looks like the best of both worlds.
My personal favorite party for Origins would be Alistar as warrior, Morrigan as mage, either Leliana or Zevran as rogue whoever you prefer and then myself as Arcane Warrior or Dual wield rogue. This build is nice in that it completely changes playstyle halfway so you don’t really get bored of just being a backline spellcaster.
I am a bit confused, i looked up the leveling guide, and there you never raise STR, but you need atleast 38 STR for the optimal gear, am I missing something?
Does anyone know what to do for this build in awakening? You lose the helm and idk what a good replacement would be and I wanna know if there’s a better sword and shield set since you can get Cailans arms past t7

If you’re on PC this game is very badly ported. I actually don’t play it much anymore because of how bad it is but there are some mods that make it a little better
I like your builds its sad that the game only has a lame origin for mage...an apostate would be awesome...like lets say your suster was killed by Templars and that gives you a person reason to hate temlars and if your an elf with that story you will have your mind set on destroying humanity any chance u get...also why is there no female elf thats romance able? Its kinda annoying that only humans ugh

Not really but you can dual wield swords instead of using a shield
