Sean, pls continue adding "Ep. #" to your video titles. It does help viewers who want to watch them in order. Regarding your building supplies, consider dragging up some of your cut logs to stack the lumber and concrete mix on. This will help to prevent them drawing moisture from the ground. Good luck in your building project, this old man is along for the ride. Be safe, above all else.

Sean, I think your channel is going to be very successful! Great taste in tunes, great sense of humor, great attitude! It's going to take off, like you took out of the city! 😉
Need a lumber trailer. Not hard to build. Keep an eye on the Talkeetna trader for a old snow machine trailer and convert it. That is what we have. Saves the short trailer from having issues. We also have the same small trailer you are using in this video.
I'm so so glad I found your channel! My goal is to create a homestead, maybe not 100% off grid, my kids would be miserable, haha. Seeing you work so hard for the life you want is so inspiring!
I have been going back to your first video and have enjoyed the show. Looking forward to new videos congratulations on your ability to learn from your mistakes.😺😸😻
Good day for you!! Remember you need water, heat and food there!! Pile all the wood so it dries!! You will need more than you think there!! Keep going and don’t be stupid!!
You're doing a great job. We moved to Tennessee to do the same thing. Our homestead is coming along great after 2 years. Already have chickens, quail and pigeons. Goats and pigs coming soon. Keep it up and don't give up or listen to the nay sayers. You can do this. If you have any questions, message and I'll be sure to help. - Greg
Congrats! I'm glad to see your channel is already growing. As you said at the end "Rome wasn't built in a day". Bear that in mind and take it from someone who didn't and is now paying the price. Don't abuse the body or your equipment. You have a good sense of balance when loading your quad but be mindful of overloading. One thing I would add is to position your quad in front of your piles so you can slide lumber onto it rather than lift it. Sort of like you did on the second trip. Also, one extra trip can save thousands in repairs. While it's good to push ourselves to build strength and endurance, do so in a way that build and reveals strength rather than tests it. "Oops" is not a word you want to being using in the wilderness. As you figured out, you need to be cautious of picking up multiple pressure-treated boards simultaneously. Though you can do it once, one wrong move on uneven ground and you could be down for weeks while your back heals, and it may never be the same again. As an illustration, a young bull and an old bull were standing on the top of a hill looking down on a meadow of cows. The young bull said to the old bull, "Let's run down and get us each a cow." The old bull said, "How about we walk down and get them all". Take it from an old bull and pace yourself. The end result is worth it. Remember, Off-gridding and homesteading are more about the journey than the destination. More important is what you learn, and the people you share that knowledge with along the way. One last thing, at the end of the video it would kind of cool to hear you recap what you learned so those with more experience can weigh in more effectively. Just a thought... By the way... I just subscribed and I'm going to pass your adventure on to my son and a few likeminded friends of mine. Can't wait to see what you learn next.
I’m thankful to have a viewer like you Dan! I try to surround myself with a lot of “old bulls” because I appreciate their value. Adding what I learned is a great idea to open the floor a bit more! I’ll see if I can weave that into future video plans. Thanks for watching 🙏🏼

That’s going on one one heavy duty tent platform! From just south of you, welcome to the north, F’n eh there bud 🇨🇦 🤣. Ps I recommend no days off, winter comes hard and fast! As others said. Been there done that several times. I’m on the north side of life now so won’t be doing it again. You probably realize by now it would have been much easier to freight all that lumber when there was still snow on the ground. 😊 Pace yourself and be careful. Working off grid by yourself you need to be careful. Work smarter not harder. When in doubt ask for help and advice so you get it done right. I learned a lot in my younger years from old timers. Now you have TH-cam for tons of information. You look like a hard working young man so I have no doubt you will succeed. Look forward to following along 😊
It would have been but I got here a little too late for snow! I’ll definitely keep I in mind for this winter. Thanks for the words of wisdom. I’m excited to share this journey with you!

Hi. I'm a wilderness settlement and log cabin building fan. I found your channel and it looks very interesting 'cause you genuinely break the mold of settlers but I don't get it why you don't try to get in with your truck if it's a 4x4 'cause the trail looks good enough for it and it just needs a side clean up in some spots to fit your truck or rent a little backhoe or a tractor with mower for a couple days to do it 'cause you're going to need your driveway badly. This was my first advice and the 2° one: Think about buying a portable sawmill to cut your own lumber with the same money or less you're going to spend buying lumber in Home Depot and you get a machinery asset. Welcome to the wilderness and congrats.

Subscriber #536 here....Off to a great start, Sean man! Congrats! Consider putting in an intro for new subscribers with a summary of what you're doing, kind of like "Wild Homestead" and "Cabin River Outdoors"....the two best cabin build channels on TH-cam, imo. Your channel could be just as big. Wishing you all the best!
Sean just a little tip from someone who has done tons of 4 x 4 driving when you turn around on a narrow track on a slope always reverse uphill into the hill, you will find out why if you keep doing it your way, Good luck and I am enjoying your vids.

Dave Whipple has some good videos on simple cabin builds. You'll want to check out his outhouse and driving a well videos, he's frugal, no nonsense and has built in Alaska and Northern Michigan.
Two of Dave's best features in his outhouse are using hard foam for the seat and the clear ribbed roof. Any bit of light is welcome in your outhouse. Snow slides off, too.
As you've already experienced, pressure treated wood is soaking wet when it comes out of the lumber yard. It'll weigh a lot more than equivalent typical kiln dried construction lumber. For most projects, I only bother with pressure treated stuff for the parts actually in contact with the ground. To save your back in the future, you can build cheap beams on site out of 2x4s. 5 2x4s stacked on their side with wood glue and nails/screws is equal to a 4x8. 2 2x4s with a layer of 1/2" plywood scraps sandwiched in the middle equals a 4x4. I'm pumped to see where you go with this property. It looks sweet.

Hey from England. Thanks for sharing the start of your journey, great to see you starting to move forward with things and finding your way. Looking forward to seeing your progress getting a camp established.

Hi! I've just found your channel and binge watched every episode😅 you're very brave and I hope this all works out for you. Your TH-cam family will be giving you tons of advice, my advice/caution is to always have an emergency kit with you, first aid, hydration, supplies to keep you warm and fed plus if your relying on your phone for emergency contact have a fully charged power bank, put in all in a back pack.
Hey Sean. I think you are going to be a great success on TH-cam, I'm really enjoying it. Just a suggestion, when you say Jesus, in your mind add a little prayer of thanks and ask for guidance. After all, He has already given you a Guardian Angel, Gracie. She is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Just a suggestion from a new subscriber. When you are turning a 4 wheeler on a narrow trail, it’s safer to back up toward the uphill side and pull forward toward the downhill side. I have a friend who backed over a hill turning around like that. He wasn’t hurt but it was a good lesson.
loving the series! it’d be awesome if you had a playlist with the episodes in order so we can binge them. ☺️ i saw your playlist was in a weird order. 🤔
Just found your channel and looking forward to your adventures ahead! I've recently obtained 5 acres of raw land in E. Tennessee and yes, I'm off grid 😊 considering I'm 54, I truly wish that I had the opportunity to have done this sooner... like you, I'm on my own building my 16x20 cabin but loving ever step... absolutely adore your personality, keeping it real... btw, hope you have some type of defense for bears 🐻
Hey Brother, best of luck on your path through life. I'm on a similar one myself, and so I know it can sometimes be difficult to be so different from everybody else, but I wouldn't have it any other way and I can tell that the same goes for you. Congratulations in advance to the future success of your channel. Peace ✌🏻
I'm the daughter of a GC and I grew up on job sites and have seen much worse osha violations than this. ;) I'm just glad you got chainsaw pants and ear protection. especially working by yourself. I'm also a country kid and I laughed my butt off when you got your chain saw stuck in the tree. I said right before that to my husband "hes going to pinch that saw..." and you did. Highly entertaining. I'm not judging you though man everyone starts somewhere. I've done it too and I've been using them since i was 10.
i had to haul my house across a river and up a hill one stick at a time with a 4 wheeler and sno machine, much like you're doing here.... Ditch that 49.99 home depot trailer and invest in a sturdy axel and make a trailer out of your lumber every load... i hold em together with C clamps and ratchet straps, i took a 2" forstner bit to one of the 2X6s and it worked as a great tow hitch. Having a shed down by the highway makes a huge difference especially for your truck during winter but i used it every day for the cabin build, deliveries and such
Honestly, I barely remember to eat so filming it too may be a challenge! I really like the idea of talking about what I learned. Idk why I didn’t think of that before. It may be a couple vids from now but I’ll implement it for sure! Thanks for watching 😁

After I watch all your videos I'm going to contact you and try to help with giving you advice, i love your dream and enthusiasm
Make a lumbar rack for that moto
Just a suggestion from a new subscriber. When you are turning a 4 wheeler on a narrow trail, it’s safer to back up toward the uphill side and pull forward toward the downhill side.
I have a friend who backed over a hill turning around like that. He wasn’t hurt but it was a good lesson.
Very entertaining!😀
loving the series! it’d be awesome if you had a playlist with the episodes in order so we can binge them. ☺️ i saw your playlist was in a weird order. 🤔
Excited for you
Thank you!
I really enjoy your videos..love your personality 😊
Like your very own Life Below Zero!
Peace ✌🏻
Good job, buddy, keep it up!
I’m so glad I could make you laugh 😁 I feel no judgement from you at all, Thanks for watching!
G'day Sean, work hard the next day and you won't feel a thing!! hahaha
PS: congrats on 1000 plus subscribers mate :)
G’day to you! You’re right, if I’m moovin’ I’m groovin’! Haha thanks for watching, I can’t believe how many subs I have! Incredible!
i had to haul my house across a river and up a hill one stick at a time with a 4 wheeler and sno machine, much like you're doing here.... Ditch that 49.99 home depot trailer and invest in a sturdy axel and make a trailer out of your lumber every load... i hold em together with C clamps and ratchet straps, i took a 2" forstner bit to one of the 2X6s and it worked as a great tow hitch. Having a shed down by the highway makes a huge difference especially for your truck during winter but i used it every day for the cabin build, deliveries and such
Just subscribed- good job - add some meal cooking and maybe what you have learned at the end of each episode and you will do great. Thanks for sharing
Honestly, I barely remember to eat so filming it too may be a challenge! I really like the idea of talking about what I learned. Idk why I didn’t think of that before. It may be a couple vids from now but I’ll implement it for sure! Thanks for watching 😁
Good content Sean. You have a subscriber extra!
YES 🙌🏼 welcome aboard!
