Awesome seeing you getting the kids involved in harvest. Stay safe Tony. Henry looked like he was in 7th Heaven lol. Keep videos coming content is great.
Pay attention all city people that need college educations ! This Father is teaching common sense , and I'll take that over your Harvard Diploma that you bought any day ! Because common sense is not very common . I just Subscribed your a great AMERICAN sir !
Great educational videos. I was a Logger for 23 yrs. We started hunting Illinois several yrs ago and I have been fascinated with the farming but never understood the process. Enjoy your videos. Thanks
It doesn't hurt to have the kids learn how to run the equipment. I was about 12 when I started helping my uncle drive his Allis Chalmers in wheat, this was about 1968 and no cab but he did have an umbrella that helped some. Good video.
The grin on your face watching your kids run equipment is priceless Tony. They will remember that stuff forever. I know I sure do. Hell my old man hasn’t even climbed into the combine all summer or fall now. He enjoys shelling corn so I’m sure he’ll climb in here eventually. It’s funny how time flies. I can remember being a little kid sitting on his lap getting you run the steering wheel in the 4400. Then to him sliding over in the seat and letting me run the controls. Now I can’t get him to climb up in it and I set the whole damn thing. Been kinda grinning thinking about the memories typing this out. Good times
Good job teaching the kids on running the combine. I grew up on a farm & I don't know how to drive a combine so I'm jealous & I'm forty five years old. 😭😭
Teach them right Tony!!! They will be much better people than those who never got the responsibility of running equipment!!! My girls started out as grease monkeys, now one works with me, the other is a diesel mechanic 😁 Cut my teeth on an old late '60s C2.. aftermarket hot box. Sit and sweat!!! Oat dust and clover dust are not fun to be in!! Thanks for the video!!
Good honest work and you're doing a great job with it. From what I can tell, Henry is a great help. It looks like you've taught him well... the girls too. Glad harvest is going pretty smoothly. I'm going to miss the excellent content which I assume will slow down for a bit once winter sets in. Thanks as always.
That kids pretty lucky to have an awsome dad like you. Bet he was tickeled pink running that combine. I'm 30 years old and havent got the opportunity to run a combine. Hopefully one day I can. For now next best thing I get to run the cart.
Your kids will never forget those combine rides. Henry is doing a fine job! I wouldn't trade growing up on a farm for anything. I'm sure as they get old enough to realize what that was worth they wouldn't either. Good video, man. Keep it up.
I can honesty say it a proud moment when your kid is runnin the machine. Until they get older and kick you out permanently! They tell me, you pay for it and we will run it 😂 little bastards!
Greatest part of my childhood was running dozer at 9 and loader at 10 for my uncle and his dad but I was even younger then that when my father through my butt on some iron, had a little Farmall Super A we plowed the driveway with and used to skid logs for firewood, cast iron seat in 10 degree weather will make a man out of any boy, lol!
PSJ.....Planet Safe Juice. :) Really enjoying your vids. You’re outlook & opinion is a fresh change from a lot of other channels. Hearing your story of dumping on the go whether the cart was there or not & the consequences sure did sound like what my father would have said. With a few Cuss words thrown in there for good erasure. LOL Take care & stay safe bud. Cheers
Watch all your TikToks now follow you on you TH-cam keep up the good work! I haul straw over here in the Uk but not from a farming background so enjoy the info 👍
You mentioned the beans being dirtier than normal, I think here in Indiana they were less *fuzzy* than usual. They had some but normally the combine gets a layer 6 to 8 inches deep on the throat, not so this year. Sure, it was a bit windier than normal at times, but when it was calm, there just wasn't the buildup like most years. Varieties didn't seem to matter, I wonder if the extreme dryness this year was a factor.

I sorta skipped that series, however i went on wheat harvest out west in 1998 and spent all summer and fall in a 9600 so i did spend a fair amount of time in one.
We had a Oliver 510 gas combine when I was a kid. Dad ended up taking the cab off because he could never see anything with the cab on because of the dust.
Kids are doing great . Maybe not harvesting 5,000 bushels an hr but they appear to be in good hands . How do you like that drill?. I got same 1, little older and it drives me nuts. Can’t change wheel depth with out something messing up and the pressure springs are a real treat to change on your own. Rows don’t want to plant unless perfect level . I could go on for days
@@davidsonlankford1168 actually we got a waterway to build and it seems we cant ever get it done in the spring or fall so we're just gonna sow it to wheat and do it next summer when we got a lot more time, so we'll just sell the wheat for grain and call it good.
