This sounds like a good one!I don’t know much about Syria other than the basics. We have a big refugee population in Oklahoma. I was proud of my daughter a few years ago when she outgrew her play kitchen. She specifically asked if we could give it to a Syrian refugee child, and it was one of my proudest moments as a mom.
I am so glad I read this book. You will have to check out my author chat with Zoulfa Katouh. She is a delight and gave us so much insight. You will love hearing from her.

This has been so high on my TBR for a while, thank you for making such a thoughtful review!
This sounds so fantastic! The way you describing the writing gives me a bit of pause, but the story itself sounds wonderful.
I loved this book so much! Definitely a tougher read at some points but I learned a ton. 💔🇸🇾
Ooo I’ll be reading this in January 2024. I heard it’s pretty sad.
